The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of geography student worksheet in developing high school students' learning experiences. The student worksheet was planned to gain opportunity to develop creative and geography skills. The effectiveness is assessed from the contribution of the worksheets in improving the skills of geography, geography learning outcomes, and students' responses in learning geography worksheet. The students' geography skills are considered good, learning outcomes also increased. Worksheet is able to increase the knowledge of learners. The response of student is very good towards geography worksheet, learning becomes active, interesting and not boring.
Aceh has the potential as a world trade route, fish catch lane and marine tourism in Indonesia. Therefore, students' knowledge of Aceh's maritime potential needs to be developed. The purpose of this study was to determine student perceptions of teaching materials to Increase Students' Knowledge of Aceh's Maritime Potential. This study used quantitative research design. The results of the study were obtained from the answers to the questionnaires that were developed, validated, and tested by researchers. The results were analyzed through descriptive statistics. The results of the study indicate that geography education students need teaching materials to Increase Students' Knowledge of Aceh's Maritime Potential. Teaching materials were very important to be developed because there was no teaching material and students' knowledge of Aceh's maritime potential was very lacking. Based on the research, it was suggested to develop teaching materials to increase students' knowledge of the Aceh Maritime Potential comprehensively.
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah geografi. Model penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan non-equivalent control group design. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Pulau Laut Timur semester genap tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Instrumen penilaian adalah tes esai yang didasarkan pada indikator kemampuan memecahkan masalah, yaitu (1) mengidentifikasi masalah; (2) merumuskan masalah; (3) menemukan alternatif solusi; (4) memilih alternatif solusi; (5) menarik kesimpulan. Analisis data menggunakan model independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran model PBL terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah geografi. Kemampuan memecahkan masalah geografi siswa kelas eksperimen dengan model PBL lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol dengan model konvensional. Saran yang diberikan, yaitu agar menyusun rencana pembelajaran dengan baik dan melakukan pembelajaran PBL di luar kelas (outdoor study). The assessment instrument is an essay test based on an indicator of problem solving skills, ie (1) identifying problems; (2) formulate the problem; (3) finding alternative solutions; (4) choose alternative solutions; and (5) make conclusions. Data analysis using independent sample t-test model with 5% significance level. The results showed that there is an influence of PBL model on geography problem-solving sklills. The geography problem-solving skills of experimental class with PBL model is higher than control class with conventional model. Now, this is the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, where technological innovation is developing rapidly so that education also demands to change into the era of education 4.0 immediately. The era of education 4.0, was characterized by the use of technology in the learning process. However, in reality, the learning process still facing many obstacles, one of which in terms of the use of instructional media. Learning media still use conventional and limited to Microsoft PowerPoint software which only contains writings for the presentation of dry land use material. This makes it difficult for students to understand the material presented about dry land. The purpose of this article is to develop innovative learning media with Sugiyono's development method in the form of aerial imagery based 3D dry land maps. In this research, development is still at the product design validation stage. The results of the product design validation of 3D aerial dry land maps based on QGIS were declared to be feasible both materially and media. The results of the validation of the learning material value of 81 and the media readability value of 86. Then the 3D map of dry land-based on aerial imagery with QGIS can be concluded feasible to be used as a learning media in the subject of land resource evaluation.
The research context with the theme of the social construction of repong damar culture has been carried out in various fields of science. The research was also conducted in a variety of different perspectives and focus to produce different findings and theorizations. This research is considered important because it is in line with the current shift in the local culture that is currently happening a lot. In many ways, local culture is often positioned opposite the thinking of the younger generation who consider it outdated. This research was motivated by the repong damar culture that existed in Lampung’s Saibatin community, Pesisir Barat District, Lampung. Resin cultivation in Lampung society Saibatin has become a hereditary practice and lasts for generations. The practice of resin which has been around for a long time eventually became a habit that was very attached to the Saibatin Lampung community. The purpose of this study was to find out how the damar cultivation practices can be formed and what kind of social construction then made the practice of resin cultivation to survive today. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Also, this study also uses the theory of Social Construction from Peter L. Berger. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study on the Social Construction of Repong Damar in Saibatin Lampung Community, Pesisir Barat District, Lampung showed that the practice of damar cultivation was formed around the beginning of the 1827s, which began with two main factors, namely after crop failure from cloves and pepper on the West Coast. Furthermore, the trigger for the emergence of this practice was also due to the actions of a trader who initially traded to Singapore while looking at market commodities that had high economic value. Upon returning the merchant to the West Coast, he recounted that gum resin had a high economic value which was sought after by traders from other countries as materials for making paints, cosmetics, and lighting. The Saibatin Lampung community then used the information and manifested the actions taken by traders by conducting large-scale resin cultivation. Subsequent developments, from the past until now several aspects make the practice of resin can continue to survive, including the existence of a process of habituation, legitimacy, and the process of socialization to the family and the environment.
The background of the study is the increasing damage to the environment and the importance of the education role to develop environmental care characters for high school students. The research purpose was to explain the Positive Character Camp (PCC) program to improve the environmental care character for high school students. The program was an alternative activity to develop students' character. The research used qualitative studies to investigate students' experiences in the program. The data was collected through direct observation, interviews and field documentation and analysed with descriptive approach. The result found that the PCC program as a school project had goals, plans and management in improving student character. The process of developing students' characters is very diverse. Strengthening the environmental care character was achieved very effectively through activities to build positive characters in students. This research provided practical insights into developing environmental care characters through the school programs.
Learning media is quite important to be used by teachers in learning process. Through the media, teacher can easily deliver lessons, and in the other hand the media helps student comprehend lessons easily. Even more, media encourages student’s independence in learning. This research aims to produce a multimedia-based learning media, lectora, for basic skill of teaching lesson. The research is conducted to students of Social Science Ed-ucation Major who joined Social Studies Micro Teaching Class in June-September 2019. In developing the product, researcher used ADDIE develop-ing model. Data in this research is quantitative, in form of assessment by validator. Meanwhile, qualitative data is in the form of suggestion and comments by material and media expert validator. The result of all validation is a multimedia-based learning media, lectora, for basic skill of teaching les-son, which is appropriate and interesting to use and share to others
