Phenomenon of Thrips (Thysanoptera) Attacks on Chili Plant (Capsicum annuum L.). Thrips are insects that damage agricultural plants such as chili plants (Capsicum annuum L.). The attacks which was caused by the thrips starting from mild to severe attacks. In Jambi province there was not any report about the attacks phenomenon of thrips on chili plants. The research aimed to analyze the phenomenon of thrips attack on chili plant. The study was conducted by observing the attacks of thrips on the leaves chili plant. First, observations were done on 160 chili plants in the infested cage thrips which obtained from chili plantation, cucumbers and squash. Observations were carried out at the part of affected leaves, color, shape and location of the attack, leaf structure, chlorophyll content and the content of nitrogen, fats and carbohydrates of affected leaves. Besides, tests Elisa was also done on the affected leaves. Second, observations of thrips population and the attack percentage, as well as the abundance of predators were performed on 400 chili plants in the field experiment in Jambi University. The thrips attack was allowed to happen naturally without spraying plants by insecticide. Observations in captivity found that thrips attack occurs on the upper leaf surface, occurs at the base, the middle and the edges with silvery attack. Thrips attacks on chili plant lower chlorophyll content and damage the structure of the leaf cells. Levels of nitrogen, fats and carbohydrates of chili leaf which attacked by thrips were not significantly different from control leaves at the level of 5%. Elisa test results showed that the leaves were attacked by the thrips which derived from chili plantation and host plant do not contain Tospovirus. Results of research in the field shows that the population of thrips, the percentage of the attack and the abundance of insect predators of thrips fluctuate and the highest is at the age of 8 mst chili plants. There are 15 species of predatory thrips were found in the field experiment of Jambi University. The members of Sphecidae, Araneidae, Theridiidae and Coccinellidae were found mostly.
Web-based interactive biology multimedia to support the learning of the revolution 4.0 era is not yet available to the fullest. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive biology-based website multimedia in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used, namely research & development with ADDIE product development models that include the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research instruments used were interview transcripts, observation sheets, material and media expert questionnaires, and product trial questionnaires for 46 students. Qualitative data in the form of expert validator suggestions and comments were analyzed descriptively. Quantitative data is processed into interval data using a Likert scale. The results showed that website-based interactive multimedia biology was declared valid in the media aspect (90%, very good criteria), material aspects (87.5%, very good criteria), and attractiveness aspects (88%, very good criteria). The conclusion of this research, which is interactive multimedia based on website biology, is suitable for biology learning.Multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website untuk mendukung pembelajaran era revolusi 4.0 belum tersedia secara maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website dalam menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0. Metode penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu research & development dengan model pengembangan produk ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu transkrips wawancara, lembar observasi, angket ahli materi dan media, dan angket uji coba produk kepada 46 siswa. Data kualitatif berupa saran dan komentar validator ahli dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif diolah menjadi data interval menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website dinyatakan valid pada aspek media (90 %, kriteria sangat baik), aspek materi (87,5 %, kriteria sangat baik), dan aspek kemenarikan (88%, kriteria sangat baik). Simpulan penelitian ini, yaitu multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran biologi. Background: The limited ability of educational institutions to prepare learning materials due to being expensive makes it essential to use other methods such as digital methods or minimize the use of excessive learning materials. Accordingly, the present systematic review aims to find out the effects of multimedia e-books and Augmented Reality (AR) on the knowledge and skills of health sciences students. Methods: This systematic review was conducted based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Relevant articles were searched in ScienceDirect, ERIC, ProQuest, Pubmed, and Wiley Online Library, with the publication year of 2010-2021. Eligibility criteria were determined based on the PICOS guidelines. Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) checklists were used for the quality assessment of the included articles. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration’s risk-of-bias assessment tool. The articles were analyzed thematically after collecting their main findings, design, and applied methods. Results: The initial search yielded 493 articles. After removing duplicates, articles met exclusion criteria, and those with low quality, 11 eligible articles were selected for the review. Studies showed that multimedia e-books increased the students’ knowledge of evidence-based medicine, anatomy, community health nursing, pediatric care, electrocardiogram, and sexual harassment prevention. The use of AR increased the skills of students in performing local anesthesia, dental care, and anatomy. Conclusion: The use of multimedia e-books and AR has significant effects on the learning process of health sciences students compared to conventional teaching methods.
Background: Menulis karya ilmiah merupakan tuntutan guru dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme. Mendeley adalah salah satu aplikasi penulisan daftar pustaka yang diperlukan untuk menunjang keterampilan menulis karya ilmiah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Guru-Guru di SMA N Titian Teras H. Abdurrahman Sayoeti dalam menggunakan Mendeley Metode: Metode pelatihan dilakukan dengan ceramah, diskusi dan praktik. Kegiatan pertama yaitu memperkenalkan aplikasi mendeley, lalu menginstal aplikasi mendeley di laptop masing-masing peserta. Mengumpulkan referensi di aplikasi mendeley untuk dapat digunakan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah dan terakhir menerapkan aplikasi Mendeley dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Hasil: guru-guru dapat menggunakan aplikasi mendeley dengan baik dan benar sehingga dapat menunjang kegiatan menulis karya ilmiah. Dengan keterampilan tersebut guru akan mudah mencari literasi dan memudahkan dalam menulis daftar pustaka secara otomatis. Kesimpulan: guru-guru di SMA N Titian Teras H. Abdurrahman Sayoeti dapat menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley dalam penulisan karya ilmiah.
Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan secara bertahap, mulai dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan tindak lanjut. Dalam kegiatan persiapan dilakukan dalam bentuk rapat persiapan di internal tim pengabdian meliputi persiapan materi, penentuan pemateri dan target yang akan dicapai. Selanjutnya tahap pelaksanaan yaitu pelatihan tentang penulisan artikel, pemberian motivasi, dan praktek penulisan artikel. Pelatihan dilakukan sesuai kesepakatan waktu antara tim pengabdian dan guru-guru di sekolah. Kegiatan Pelatihan telah dilakukan pada tanggal 14 agustus 2018 bertempat di aula SMA N 11 Muaro Jambi. Tahap terakhir adalah tindak lanjut dari pelatihan yaitu pendampingan penulisan artikel hingga artikel guru-guru SMA N 11 Muaro jambi dapat dimuat di Jurnal Nasional maupun Internasional. Hasilnya guru SMA N 11 Muaro Jambi telah berhasil menulis artikel dan dipublikasikan di Jurnal terakreditasi.
Media pembelajaran merupakan hal yang mutlak digunakan dalam proses belajar. Mengajar.Dalam pembelajaran biologi khususnya materi tentang Tumbuhan guru harus dapat memberikan pemahaman dan pengenalan kepada siswa terhadap berbagai jenistumbuhan termasuk tumbuhan herba.Pemanfaatan keanekaragaman tumbuhan yang ada di alam merupakan salah satu solusi yang paling tepat bagi guru untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang lebih optimal.Penggunaan media pembelajaran herbarium sangat cocok diterapkan di Pondok Pesantren Al-Hidayah, karena begitu padatnya materi yang diajarkan di sekolah tersebut. Herbarium merupakan media pembelajaran yang awet dan dapat tahan lama sehingga dapat memudahkan dalam penyimpanan.
The lack of Biology teaching materials in senior high school in the Kerinci District has promoted this research. The purpose of this development research is to produce e-modules as teaching materials used by students in Biology subjects. The model used in developing this e-module is the 4-D model, which consists of 4 stages, namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Biology e-modules on plantae and animalia material based on the potential of the Kerinci region were validated by media and material experts. The results of the media expert validation obtained the final percentage of 90% (very valid category) and the material expert validation obtained a percentage of 75% (valid category). From the results of the field test, the teacher responded that the e-modules produced were suitable for use in biology class X high school learning with a percentage of 92.5% (very good category). Furthermore, e-module trials on students obtained responses that the products produced were also proper to be used in biology learning in class X of senior high school. The small group test obtained a score of 85% (excellent category) and the large group test obtained score 78.3% (good category). The use of the developed e-modules in learning resulted in a score of 76.3% (successful category).
