Pademi Covid-19 has disturbed the learning process in a face-to-face manner. Therefore online learning solutions need to be sought as an answer to these problems. The aim of the study was to obtain an overview of the implementation of online learning in the Biology Education Study Program of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Jambi University as an effort to suppress the spread of covid-19 in the campus environment. Research subjects were students of Biology Education Study Program. Data collected by telephone interview. Data analysis was performed using the interactive analysis technique of Miles & Huberman. The results showed that: (1) students already have the basic facilities needed to take part in online learning; (2) online learning has flexibility in its implementation and is able to encourage the emergence of learning independence and motivation to be more active in learning; and (3) distance learning encourages the emergence of social distancing behavior and minimizes the emergence of student crowds so that it is deemed able to reduce the potential for the spread of Covid-19 in the campus environment. Abstrak. Pademi covid-19 telah mengganggu proses pembelajaran secara konvensional. Maka diperlukan solusi untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut. Pembelajaran secara daring adalah salah satu alternatif yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Jambi sebagai upaya menekan penyebaran covid-19 di Perguruan Tinggi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Biologi. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara melalui zoom cloud meeting. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) mahasiswa telah memiliki fasilitas-fasilitas dasar yang dibutuhkan untuk mengikuti pembelajaran daring; (2) pembelajaran daring memiliki fleksibilitas dalam pelaksanaannya dan mampu mendorong munculnya kemandirian belajar dan motivasi untuk lebih aktif dalam belajar; dan (3) pembelajaran jarak jauh mendorong munculnya perilaku social distancing dan meminimalisir munculnya keramaian mahasiswa sehingga dianggap dapat mengurangi potensi penyebaran Covid-19 di lingkungan kampus. Lemahnya pengawasan terhadap mahasiswa, kurang kuatnya sinyal di daerah pelosok, dan mahalnya biaya kuota adalah tantangan tersendiri dalam pembelajaran daring.
Abstract. Electronic based biology learning media is important to be developed to meet students' needs for the development of the industrial revolution 4.0. The purpose of this research is to produce a product that consists of Web-based interactive e-learning media. The research method uses Research & Development (R&D) with ADDIE models (analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Measuring instruments used in this study were questionnaires given to validators and when testing small groups and large groups. In this study using qualitative data analysis from the results of the questionnaire which was then asked quantitatively. The results showed that the media validator and material validator were worth mentioning by the media to be tested. After being tested in small groups, students get a score of 80% (good) and in trials large groups get a score of 80.74% (good). While subject matter teachers gave a score of 80.76% (good). Thus it can be concluded that the responses of students and teachers to interactive e-learning media products based on web ecosystem material are included in the criteria both in accordance with the industrial revolution 4.0. So that students can learn and use interactive e-learning media anywhere and anytime to facilitate learning. For further research it is recommended for other educational materials and levels. Media pembelajaran biologi berbasis elektronik penting dikembangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan siswa seiring perkembangan revolusi industri 4.0. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan produk berupa media e-learning interaktif berbasis Web. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research & Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah kuesioner yang diberikan kepada validator dan saat uji kelompok kecil dan kelompok besar. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dari hasil kuesioner lalu ditafsirkan secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validator media dan validator materi menyatakan layak media ini untuk diujicobakan. Setelah diujicoba pada kelompok kecil pada siswa mendapatkan skor 80% (baik) dan pada uji coba kelompok besar mendapat skor 80,74% (baik). Sementara guru bidang studi memberikan skor 80,76% (baik). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa respon siswa dan guru terhadap produk media e-learning interaktif berbasis web pada materi ekosistem termasuk dalam kriteria baik sesuai dengan revolusi industri 4.0. Peneliti menyarankan agar siswa dan menggunakan media e-learning interaktif dimana dan kapan saja untuk memudahkan belajar. This sequential explanatory design aims at exploring science teachers’ survey and perceptions of technology integration regarding to technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) which focused on quantitative findings supported by qualitative findings. It involved 356 respondents for the survey and eight participants for the interview. Descriptive statistics, T-test and Anova were used in quantitative data analysis while for qualitative data analysis, thematic process was conducted. Findings show that the science teachers’ perception on their technological-based knowledge is lower than non-technological knowledge namely pedagogical and content knowledge. Further, qualitative findings informed in-depth information about technology integration referred to TPACK namely problems in technology integration, advantages of technology integration, students centered learning, knowledge of new technology and its classroom integration, and peer collaboration. Policy recommendation was established for betterment of ICT integration in instruction especially for developing countries.
Web-based interactive biology multimedia to support the learning of the revolution 4.0 era is not yet available to the fullest. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive biology-based website multimedia in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used, namely research & development with ADDIE product development models that include the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research instruments used were interview transcripts, observation sheets, material and media expert questionnaires, and product trial questionnaires for 46 students. Qualitative data in the form of expert validator suggestions and comments were analyzed descriptively. Quantitative data is processed into interval data using a Likert scale. The results showed that website-based interactive multimedia biology was declared valid in the media aspect (90%, very good criteria), material aspects (87.5%, very good criteria), and attractiveness aspects (88%, very good criteria). The conclusion of this research, which is interactive multimedia based on website biology, is suitable for biology learning.Multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website untuk mendukung pembelajaran era revolusi 4.0 belum tersedia secara maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website dalam menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0. Metode penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu research & development dengan model pengembangan produk ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu transkrips wawancara, lembar observasi, angket ahli materi dan media, dan angket uji coba produk kepada 46 siswa. Data kualitatif berupa saran dan komentar validator ahli dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif diolah menjadi data interval menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website dinyatakan valid pada aspek media (90 %, kriteria sangat baik), aspek materi (87,5 %, kriteria sangat baik), dan aspek kemenarikan (88%, kriteria sangat baik). Simpulan penelitian ini, yaitu multimedia interaktif biologi berbasis website layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran biologi. The transformation in education must be directed in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program. This article aimed to discuss the potential support of New Biology in achieving the formulated SDGs. This literature review covered 31 articles which were published since 2010 to 2019. The keywords used to collect the data were new biology, future biology, biology education, biological science, and biology. The review results informed that New Biology can potentially enact five goals of SDGs, i.e. goal 2 (Zero Hunger), goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), goal 4 (Quality Education), goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). By considering the findings, it is suggested to promote New Biology approach in Indonesian educational system.
This research conducted to improve university students’ motivation in basic and process of learning biology subject in Biology Education Study Program Universitas Jambi through implementation of learning journal. This research have done by two cycle, which each cycle done with four steps, include planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result show that percentation score before action is 67% in enough criteria, in first cycle up to be 76,25% with good criteria, and in the second cycle increase to 76,25% also in good criteria. In conclusion, implementation of learning journal can increase learning motivation.
The course of Evaluation Process and Learning Outcome in Biology Education University of Jambi has not been provided with neither student book nor modules as student guidance for the course lecturers. Therefore, I was interested in developing textbooks for this course with the aim of helping students to understand the subject in order to minimize misconceptions and incoherence form the course objectives. This study applied ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This study went through needs and materials analysis, product design, and product development by having product validation from experts and product implementation. In the product implementation, students as respondents were required to get feedback for product improvements; lastly, product evaluation then took place. The validation results from the experts show that Biology Textbook of Process Evaluation and Learning Outcome is significantly appropriate, as noted with the score of 83. However, there is a suggestion for the textbook to improve the cover, typographical errors, layout and page numbering. The second validation results suggestions to add competence of material, number of pages, material explanation and bibliography. The product testing in a small group shows that the product is categorized as significantly appropriate with the score of 85.5. According to a student user, the product is good and handy due to its small size yet rich contents. Currently, the product, in the form of books, have been provided with ISBN, published and distributed to students and to Faculty of Teacher Training and Education and University of Jambi libraries. The books are currently in the process to be published in a large scale by Salim Media Indonesia Publisher. Keywords: Development, Biology Textbook of Process Evaluation and Learning Outcome Abstrak. Pembelajaran mata kuliah Evaluasi Proses dan Hasil Belajar Biologi di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Jambi belum memiliki buku atau pun modul yang dapat digunakan sebagai pegangan mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan. Untuk itu lah saya tertarik untuk mengembangkan buku ajar mata kuliah ini dengan harapan dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam memahami materi mata kuliah tersebut supaya tidak terjadi kesalahan pemahaman dan keluar dari jalur atau tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analize, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Dalam penelitian ini melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan dan materi, kemudian tahap desain produk yang diharapkan, kemudian menerima masukan dari evaluator materi dan evaluator media, kemudian pengembangan produk dan uji coba. Pada tahap uji coba prodak melibatkan responden dari mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan masukan dan kritikan terkait produk yang telah dibuat, terakhir tahap evaluasi dari uji coba yang telah dilakukan. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar Evaluasi proses dan hasil pembelajaran biologi yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak untuk digunakan dengan skor 83. Namun masih mendapatkan masukan dari validator pertama berupa perbaikan tampilan cover, layout, kesalahan penulisan dan penomoran halaman. Kemudian masukan dari validator kedua memberikan kritikan dan masukan berupa kompetensi materi yang perlu ditambah, jumlah halaman yang perlu ditambah dan penjelasan materi serta daftar pustaka yang perlu ditambahkan. Hasil analisis pada uji coba kelompok kecil menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori baik ( 85,5). Menurut mahasiswa selaku pengguna produk buku ajar ini sudah baik dan cukup simpel dibawa kemana-mana karena ukurannya yang kecil dengan cakupan materi yang padat. Sekarang buku ajar mata kuliah Evaluasi proses dan hasil belajar biologi ini sudah dicetak dan sudah memiliki ISBN serta sudah disebarkan ke mahasiswa dan perpustakaan FKIP dan Perpustakaan Universitas Jambi, kemudian tahap penjajakan dengan penerbit Salim Media Indonesia untuk produksi skala besar dan pemasaran di toko buku-toko buku yang ada di Indonesia. .
