A correlational research was conducted to reveal the correlation between critical thinking and creative thinking skills on students' cognitive learning results in inquiry learning strategy and to reveal the contribution of critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills to students' cognitive learning results. Method: The population of this research was students of Biology Education Study Program in the Education and Teacher Training Faculty of Jambi University, Indonesia in the semester of 2017/2018 academic year. Background: Menulis karya ilmiah merupakan tuntutan guru dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme. Mendeley adalah salah satu aplikasi penulisan daftar pustaka yang diperlukan untuk menunjang keterampilan menulis karya ilmiah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Guru-Guru di SMA N Titian Teras H. Abdurrahman Sayoeti dalam menggunakan Mendeley Metode: Metode pelatihan dilakukan dengan ceramah, diskusi dan praktik. Kegiatan pertama yaitu memperkenalkan aplikasi mendeley, lalu menginstal aplikasi mendeley di laptop masing-masing peserta. Mengumpulkan referensi di aplikasi mendeley untuk dapat digunakan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah dan terakhir menerapkan aplikasi Mendeley dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Hasil: guru-guru dapat menggunakan aplikasi mendeley dengan baik dan benar sehingga dapat menunjang kegiatan menulis karya ilmiah. Dengan keterampilan tersebut guru akan mudah mencari literasi dan memudahkan dalam menulis daftar pustaka secara otomatis. Kesimpulan: guru-guru di SMA N Titian Teras H. Abdurrahman Sayoeti dapat menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley dalam penulisan karya ilmiah.
AbstrakBackground: Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) FKIP Universitas Jambi masih tergolong baru dilaksanakan, maka dari itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan PLP dilapangan. Tujuan dari riset ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan PLP Fakultas Kependidikan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Jambi di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) PGRI Jambi. Metode: Deskriptif Kualitatif, desain penelitian pengumpulan data, reduksi, penarikan kesimpulan. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa biologi yang melakukan PLP di SMA PGRI Jambi. Hasil: penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pelaksanaan PLP di SMA PGRI Jambi cukup baik. Kesimpulan: Proses pelaksanaan PLP di SMA PGRI Jambi cukup baik namum belum maksimal. Sebagian kegiatan sudah sesuai panduan, namun sebagian kegiatan belum sesuai panduan. Kegiatan yang sudah tepat adalah mengenal lingkungan sekolah, kegiatan administrasi pendidikan, penyusunan silabus, RPP, menentukan metode, media dan model pembelajaran, namun contoh dari guru pamong tidak ada. Kegiatan penilaian, analisis nilai, penentuan jam efektif, program tahunan dan program semester tidak diajarkan. Menjadi masukan PLP Kedepan adalah perlunya kelas microteaching, penambahan waktu dan penguasaan kurikulum. Kata kunci:Praktek Lapangan Persekolahan, Mahasiswa, Magang, SMA PGRI. AbstractBackground: Introduction to the Field of Schooling (PLP) FKIP Jambi University is still relatively new, therefore research is needed to determine the process of PLP implementation in the field. The purpose of this research is to know the PLP implementation process of the Faculty of Education and Education (FKIP) Jambi University in PGRI Jambi High School. Methods: Qualitative descriptive, research design, data collection, reduction, conclusion drawing. The research subjects were biology students who did PLP at PGRI Jambi High School. Results: The study revealed that the implementation of PLP in SMA PGRI Jambi was quite good. Conclusion: The process of implementing PLP in Jambi PGRI Senior High was quite good but not yet maximal. Some activities are in accordance with the guidelines, but some activities are not in accordance with the guidelines. The right activities are getting to know the school environment, educational administration activities, syllabus preparation, lesson plans, determining methods, media and learning models, but there are no examples of tutors. Assessment activities, value analysis, determination of effective hours, annual programs and semester programs are not taught. Being input to PLP Going forward is the need for microteaching classes, additional time and curriculum mastery.
Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is how are the differences in students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects using discovery and problem-based learning models at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory in Jambi City. Methodology: The research design used by researchers is a quantitative research type of quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design, with a total sample of 56 students using a total sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a test with a Cronbach alpha of 0.919. The data analysis used includes descriptive and inferential statistics. Main Findings: Based on the data analysis and discussion above, it can be concluded that students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects in static electricity material are in a good category. This indicates that the application of discovery learning models and problem-based learning can improve the thinking skills of critical students. This is reinforced by testing the hypothesis through an independent sample t-test that there is a significant difference between the use of the two models in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially in physics lessons on static electricity. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research has a novelty, especially in cognitive, namely critical thinking skills, which can be improved with a scientific approach, especially using discovery learning models and problem-based learning.
Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan salah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika yang harus dicapai oleh siswa. Namun, kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas X IPS SMAN 2 Padang belum menjadi perhatian secara maksimal. Cara yang dilakukan adalah dengan menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa melalui pemberian tes. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat kemampuan pemahaman konsep di kelas X IPS SMAN 2 Padang. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPS 1 SMAN 2 Padang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi lapangan dan tes berbentuk essay. Tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dianalisis berdasarkan rubrik kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep 49,35 dikategorikan cukup, indikator yang tertinggi adalah mengembangkan syarat perlu dan syarat cukup suatu konsep, dan yang terendah mengaitkan berbagai konsep dalam matematika maupun di luar matematika.
