Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh gambaran kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP Islam As-Shofa Kota Pekanbaru berdasarkan The Programme Internasional Student Assessment (PISA) pada konten Biologi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal literasi sains berdasarkan PISA 2009. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan bulan April 2019. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IX SMP Islam As-Shofa Kota Pekanbaru dengan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan mengggunakan propotional strtified sampling sehingga sampel dikelompokan berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan akademik tinggi, sedang dan rendah dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 135 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan literasi sains siswa SMP Islam as-Shofa Kota Pekanbaru kategori rendah dengan persentase 56,86%. Kemampuan berdasarkan kompetensi mengidentifiksi masalah kategori rendah dengan persentase 56,43%, kompetensi menjelaskan fenomena secara ilmiah kategori rendah dengan persentase 54,43% dan kompetensi menggunakan bukti ilmiah kategori rendah dengan persentase 59,71%. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahawa siswa SMP Islam As-Shofa Kota Pekanbaru memiliki kemampuan literasi sains rendah
Early age is an important time for the development of one's creativity. Creativity is necessary in the development of children because it will affect the work of the right brain and left brain. Creativity is a necessity in the present and also in the future. Creativity is needed to pick up the century of competition because developing individual creativity can produce innovative work or something new that is needed by the times. Family is the first and foremost teacher in child development. In educating children to grow into a creative person parents should accompany children in the growth period.
This study aims to analyze the students' scientific attitude improvement through virtual lab on invertebrates. The method that used was weak experimental design, with two classes of samples (X-7 and X-8) which has a parallel position as class treatment. The instrument that used for data collection was the scientific attitudes scale form of Likert scale. The results showed that the scientific attitudes improved significantly after virtual lab-based learning on invertebrates (sig-2tailed value <α (0.025)). Increased scientific attitude is low (N-Gain X-7 = 0.10, = 0.16 X-8). Virtual lab program is not a substitute for a real lab, but as a complement for learning of the material that is hard to do in a real laboratory, such as the practicum invertebrates.Keywords: invertebrates, virtual lab, scientific attitudes
Tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini secara umum untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Guru PAUD dalam menyelenggarakan sekolah yang ramah lingkungan. Secara khusus kegiatan ini memberikan peningkatan terhadap Mitra yang meliputi; (1) peningkatan pemahaman Guru mengenai bahan praktikum yang berasal dari sampah; (2) peningkatan kemampuan Guru dalam mengidentifikasi jenis sampah yang bisa dijadikan sebagai bahan dalam membuat karya montase, kolase, dan mozaik; (3) peningkatan pengetahuan Guru untuk memahami pengertian, konsep, dan proses pembuatan karya montase, kolase, dan mozaik; dan (4) mengasah dan meningkatkan keterampilan Guru dalam membuat karya montase, kolase, dan mozaik. Metode pelaksanaan program pengabdian akan dilakukan secara berjenjang, berkesinambungan, dan komprehensif yang dilaksanakan melalui metode pendekatan. Pendekatan di sini dimaksudkan adalah perolehan informasi awal hingga proses kegiatan dilakukan dengan komunikasi secara langsung atau lewat alat komunikasi secara intensif dengan Mitra, sehingga pelaksanaan kegiatan dapat dilakukan secara terbimbing, dengan tujuan utama untuk meningkatkan keterampilan Guru TK Salsa dalam memanfaatkan sampah menjadi karya montase, kolase, dan mozaik. Untuk dapat dipamerkan dan di lihat oleh masyarakat sekolah khususnya murid-murid sekolah tersebut.
Candidates for early childhood education teachers need to have a number of competencies that demonstrate the professionalism of early childhood education teachers. Efforts to help undergraduate students of early childhood education teacher education have the ability to develop a professional attitude are provided by learning programs including the school field introduction program (SFI). The general objectives of this study are to describe, 1) the competence of attitudes and professional skills that early childhood education teachers need to have; 2) the commitment of PGPAUD students to develop professional attitudes and skills that teachers in early childhood education need to have; and 3) students' perceptions of the school field introduction program. This research was conducted using descriptive quantitative research with a sample of 64 students of undergraduate education teacher education for early childhood education at the Universitas Negeri Medan, Faculty of Education. Data was collected using a questionnaire and followed interview by focus group discussion. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics which were complemented by qualitative analysis. The results obtained indicate that: 1) the competence of attitudes and professional skills that early childhood education teachers need to have consists of seven dimensions of professionalism whose descriptions are 120 indicators, 2) 92% of PGPAUD undergraduate students have a high commitment to developing the attitudes and professional skills of PAUD teachers through the (SFI) program, and 3) 88% of undergraduate students in early childhood education teacher education have a good perception of the school field introduction program they have undertaken. The results of this study are expected to be used as study material in developing a school field introduction program and an attitude and professionalism development program for early childhood education teachers as a whole.

This study aims to determine the level of validity of science literacy-oriented science teaching materials for early childhood based on the assessment of early childhood education experts, science learning experts, linguists, and graphic experts. The research method used is the research and development (R&D) method with the Four-D (4-D) model which consists of the stages of define, design, develop and desiminate. The instrument used was a validation sheet filled out by experts in their fields to test the appropriateness of content, linguistics, presentation, and graphics. Based on the results of expert validation, the developed teaching material is categorized as valid with a value of 80.4. The aim of this research is to describe facebook utilization in peer assessment online to assess pupil's scientific attitude on laboratory report of environment pollution, to explain the benefit and the weakness, and also to get information about student's and teacher's response about peer assessment online by facebook. Collecting data are done by observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The instruments which used were analysis form of implementation facebook utilization in peer assessment online, rubrict peer assessment to assess pupil's scientific attitude, questionnaire, and manual teacher interview. The result show that many of pupil's scientific attitude can be assessed by peer assessment online with utilization of facebook. The main weakness of facebook utilization in peer assessment online are technical problem such as unfluent internet network and a hacker. Benefits are free of time, low cost relatively, and comfortable in assess. The conclusion of this research is facebook can be used for peer assessment online to assess pupil's scientific attitude.
