Learning media is one of the key factors affecting the success of the learning process. Selecting and using appropriate and attractive media will have a positive impact on student learning success. Unfortunately, the use of educational me-dia, particularly those based on information and communi-cation technology (ICT) for Indonesian language learning, is still not widely practiced in Palangka Raya Christian Mid-dle School. The aim of this study is to identify students' per-ceptions of Indonesian language lessons using Kahoot media (a game-based learning application). Twenty five respond-ents selected for the purpose of sampling, a questionnaire was provided via google form. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test to determine Kahoot media's level of usefulness in Indonesian language learning. Integrating the use of ICT, especially smartphones, to learn Indonesian in the classroom can add positive energy to students, which in turn increases student motivation, student engagement and academic success.

This study explores the influence of endogamous marriage (Arab-Arab family) and exogamous (Arab-Javanese family) on the personal name of Hadrami-Arab who living in the Kampong Arab Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta. Endogamous marriage among Hadrami-Arab resulted in identity retention, especially ethnic identity. In contrast, exogamous marriages play a role in generating a hybrid entity that inherits the characteristics of each ethnic parent, including personal name. Utilizing Net Consolidation Data for the First Semester of 2017 – download as of February 23, 2018– managed by the Data and Statistics Division of the Population and Civil Registration Agency of Surakarta, the names of the residents of Pasar Kliwon Subdistrict were classified according to the ethnicities of both parents. The elements in name construction were then identified to formulize the naming system utilizing the socio-onomastics framework. From the analysis, it can be revealed that the endogamous marriage became the dominant marriage as an effort to maintain the lineage of their ancestors, especially the male line (patrilineal). This effort is followed by giving the newborn baby name by adopting the name of his/her father, grandfather’s, or a combination of both. The attachment of surname after the personal name is also a characteristic of children who born from endogamous family. Meanwhile, families from exogamous marriages (Javanese mother and Arab fathers) prefer to name their child with a hybrid name through a combination of naming systems from their cultural background, Arabic-Javanese words and vise versa. The selection of Arabic names by Hadrami-Arabs is emphasized more highlight their ethnic identity, even though it also displays their religious status, Islam.
The segment of Muslim consumers in Indonesia currently has a high sense of concern for the halal goods and services they consume. This consumer segment, in addition to wanting high-quality products, also demands that the products they consume comply with the rules set by Islamic law. This segment has a tendency to be able to recommend to other parties the products they perceive are halal, they even want to pay a more expensive price if there are no alternative products of the kind they perceive halal. Instead, they can provide incorrect information which results in a viral effect and leads to encouragement to boycott the consumption of goods and services. This study aimed to examine the effect of halal supply chain knowledge on Muslim and non-Muslim consumers on the motivation and purchasing behavior of halal chicken meat. The halal supply chain knowledge tested includes halal feed dimensions, halal slaughtering processes, halal storage and logistics, and halal packaging and logistics. The research was conducted with a quantitative approach through multivariate multiple regression statistical tests. The population in the study was all consumers of halal chicken meat in Klaten City. Sampling using purposive sampling as many as 102 respondents. The final stage of the study found the findings of the four antecedent variables, three supply chain knowledge variables in the form of halal slaughter process, halal storage and logistics and halal labeling packing had a significant influence on purchasing motivation. Halal slaughter process had the highest influence on consumers because the halal perception that is most familiar to them is the slaughter process. One variable had no significant influence in the form of halal feed. In the motivation variable, the findings of this dimension had a significant influence on behavior.===========================================================================================Rantai Pasok dan Perilaku Pembelian Daging Ayam Halal. Despite the absence of funding pressures that explicitly mandate a shift to open access (OA), Indonesia is a leader in OA publishing. Indonesia subscribes to a non-profit model of OA, which differs from that promoted by Plan S. The penetration of bibliometric systems of academic performance assessment is pushing Indonesian scholars away from a local non-profit model of OA to a model based on high publication charges. This article considers whether Plan S promotes or undermines the ability of Indonesian scholars to develop systems of OA adapted to local resource constraints and research needs. We would like to thank Kate Meagher and the anonymous reviewers for their valuable comments on initial drafts of this article.
