RESUMO: as atividades lúdicas ocorrem, com freqüência, nos atendimentos de crianças. A utilização das atividades lúdicas no atendimento de crianças, durante a formação acadêmica, deve ter assegurada a finalidade terapêutica, visto que essa experiência influenciará na atuação do fisioterapeuta. Portanto, este estudo tem como objetivo descrever a utilização das atividades lúdicas na fisioterapia com crianças, realizado pelos estagiários durante a formação acadêmica. Em vista do objetivo proposto, foi realizado um estudo descritivo, denominado de estudo de caso. Participaram 6 (seis) acadêmicas, do quarto ano do curso de graduação em fisioterapia. A coleta de informações foi realizada por meio de observação sistemática, registrada pela filmagem. Os dados foram analisados por meio de três categorias: a manifestação das atividades lúdicas na fisioterapia; a atividade lúdica na fisioterapia e; comportamento da estagiária na atividade lúdica. Foram observados 186 e 158 atividades lúdicas, respectivamente, na primeira e na penúltima semana de estágio e, freqüentemente, eram adequadas à criança atendida. Vários tipos de jogos e brincadeiras foram observados nos atendimentos, que resultaram em determinados comportamentos da criança: obtenção da resposta desejada; obtenção parcial da resposta desejada; não-alcance da resposta desejada e; impossibilidade de avaliar se a resposta obtida era desejada ou não. Os comportamentos das participantes eram de preparação, orientação, incentivo, acompanhamento, facilitação e demonstração da atividade lúdica. Verificou-se que as atividades lúdicas são utilizadas pelas participantes como recurso terapêutico. Porém, há necessidade de inclusão do tema jogos e brincadeiras nas disciplinas teóricas e discussão e orientação sistemática no estágio supervisionado. When using play in child care during physiotherapy intern training, it is important to assure the therapeutic purpose of such activities, since this experience will influence the physiotherapist's professional development. In view of the established aim, a descriptive study (case study) was carried out. Six senior year students in the fourth year of the physiotherapy university undergraduate course took part in this study. Information was collected through systematic observation recorded on camcorder. Data was analyzed according to three categories: the emergence of play activities in physiotherapy sessions; actual playing in physiotherapy; and the intern's behavior during play. RESUMO: o objetivo deste estudo foi verifi car a ocorrência de modifi cação da coordenação motora, atenção, participação, interação, autoestima e compreensão em adolescentes com defi ciência auditiva, após a realização de aulas de dança do tipo jazz dance. Foi realizado estudo experimental intrassujeito do tipo AB, com cinco sujeitos do gênero feminino, com idade entre 13 e 18 anos, diagnóstico de surdez congênita ou adquirida e estudantes do Instituto Londrinense de Educação de Surdos (ILES). Para avaliação da coordenação motora foi aplicado o teste KTK, composto por quatro tarefas antes e após as aulas e, diário de campo, contendo informações que não foram registradas nos testes formais. Foram realizadas doze aulas de dança como intervenção. O resultado do KTK mostrou média da pontuação total de 171,8 inicialmente e 196,4 após a intervenção. Como resultado fi nal todos os sujeitos do estudo apresentaram melhora da coordenação motora signifi cante (P=0.01) após as aulas de dança. ABSTRACT:The aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence of changes in motor coordination and attention, participation, interaction, self-esteem and understanding in adolescents with hearing loss, after conducting dance classes such as jazz. An experimental study of intra-subject AB, was done, with fi ve female subjects, aged between 13 and 18 years and diagnosis of congenital or acquired deafness, students of the Institute of Deaf Education Londrinense (ILES). The KTK test was conducted to evaluate the motor coordination, consisting of four tasks before and after classes and a diary containing information not recorded in formal tests. Twelve dance classes were proposed as intervention. The result of KTK showed a total score average of 171,8 before the dance and an average of 196,4 after the classes. The results indicated that all subjects of the study showed signifi cant improvement in motor coordination (P=0.01), after dance classes. It was also observed that students paid more attention during classes and there was greater integration of the group.

In seeking to understand the social representation of the use of the wheelchair through the analysis of interviews with ten people who have suffered spinal cord injury, the construction of five representations was elaborated. The phenomenon experienced regarding the wheelchair provided a route of meanings and symbologies: essential equipment, after the person perceive the inability to walk; a symbol of disability when the person experienced functional dependence; means of locomotion and transport after the rescue of their potential functional; becoming an integral part or all of their body and, finally, the concept of autonomy on four wheels by adjusting to their new ability to walk emerges. The wheelchair as an extension of the modified body for spinal cord injury, returns them the right of locomotion, presents them not only with autonomy for various acts of life, but also restores their dignity, so essential to human life. Representações sociais da cadeira de rodas para a pessoa com lesão da medula espinhal Na busca por compreender a representação social do uso da cadeira de rodas, através da análise de entrevistas com dez pessoas que sofreram lesão da medula espinhal, elaborou-se a construção de cinco representações. O fenômeno vivenciado sobre a cadeira de rodas possibilitou uma trajetória de significados e simbologias: equipamento indispensável, após a pessoa perceber a incapacidade para andar, símbolo de deficiência quando vivencia a dependência funcional; meio de locomoção e transporte após o resgate de seus potenciais funcionais, passa a integralizar parte ou todo o seu corpo e, por fim, emerge a concepção de autonomia sob quatro rodas, pela adaptação à sua nova capacidade de locomoção. RESUMO: a criança desenvolve as habilidades motoras, cognitivas, comportamento emocional e moral por meio da brincadeira e da interação social, que continuam no decorrer da vida. A variedade de jogos e/ou brincadeiras contextualiza e favorece o desenvolvimento motor adequado, sendo fundamental para aprendizagem motora. O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar a utilização do lúdico como recurso terapêutico na prática da fisioterapia pediátrica, por meio da revisão bibliográfica nas bases de dados indexadas: PubMed, Cochrane, Medline e Lilacs, utilizando-se as palavras-chave "Child", "Play and Playthings", "Physical Therapy Modalities" com o operador booleano "and". Foram levantados 15 estudos, sendo cinco sobre a utilização da atividade lúdica por meio de jogos e brincadeiras, nove por meio de jogos eletrônicos e realidade virtual e um envolvendo ambas as modalidades. As categorias mostraram benefícios e boa aceitação pelas crianças envolvidas: melhora na postura e equilíbrio corporal, motivação, fortalecimento de vínculo, maior mobilidade, redução de sintomas de dor, fadiga, ansiedade e distúrbios de sono; a melhora da função de assoalho pélvico, melhora no desempenho físico, equilíbrio, destreza, força de preensão e movimentação dos membros superiores e maior satisfação com a terapia. ABSTRACT:The child develops motor, cognitive, emotional and moral behavior through play and social interaction, which continue throughout life. The variety of games and/or games contextualizes and provides adequate motor development, and is fundamental for motor learning. The present study aimed to investigate the use of play as a therapeutic resource in the practice of pediatric physical therapy, through a bibliographic review in the indexed databases: PubMed, Cochrane, Medline and Lilacs, using the keywords "Child", " "Play and Playthings", "Physical Therapy Modalities" with the Boolean operator "and". A total of 15 studies were collected including five on the use of play activity through games and play, and nine through electronic games and virtual reality, and one involving both modalities. The categories showed benefits and good acceptance by the involved children: improved posture and body balance, motivation, bond strength, greater mobility, reduction of pain symptoms, fatigue, anxiety and sleep disorders; improvement of pelvic floor function, improvement in physical performance, balance, dexterity, grip strength and upper limb movement, and greater satisfaction with therapy.

Objective: To determine the effect of postural education on the learning and postural habits of elementary school children without physical intervention. Methods: We searched PubMed, Lilacs, SciELO, Cochrane, and Science Direct data bases and reference lists of studies in February 2020. The eligibility criteria were randomized clinical trials related to the effect of postural education in children aged between 6 and 12 years old. Two authors independently assessed trials for inclusion and risk of bias: randomization process, deviations from intended interventions, missing outcome data, measurement of the outcome, and selection of the reported result. Data were extracted in standardized tables including information on author, publication year, country, sample size, age, sex, intervention characteristics, outcome measurements and results. Results: We found seven clinical trials (involving 2,568 children) for the review. The studies were conducted between 2000 and 2018: four in Belgium, two in Spain, and one in Germany. All seven included trials underwent evaluation: only one had a clear process of randomization and allocation concealment. All included studies were judged as having high risk of bias in at least one domain or have concerns for multiple domains. Conclusions: The positive effects of acquired knowledge and postural habits found in the studies cannot be used to reliably support postural education in elementary school children due to a high risk of bias in the evaluated studies.

a capacidade de manter o equilíbrio é pré-requisito para execução de várias atividades da vida diária. Para a regulação do equilíbrio, o sistema de controle postural necessita de informações quanto às posições relativas dos segmentos do corpo e à magnitude das forças atuantes. As informações são provenientes dos sistemas: visual, somatosensorial e vestibular. Alguns indivíduos com perda auditiva neurossensorial podem ter prejuízos no processo de aquisição de habilidades motoras básicas, em função de problemas no equilíbrio. O objetivo desse estudo foi comparar o equilíbrio entre crianças com deficiência auditiva e ouvintes de nove a 12 anos de idade. A amostra foi composta de 20 crianças, sendo 10 com deficiência auditiva e 10 ouvintes. Para avaliação foi aplicada a Escala de Equilíbrio Pediátrica - EEP (versão brasileira) e o Teste de Alcance. Em relação à EEP, as crianças com deficiência auditiva apresentaram mediana de 55 e as ouvintes de 56 pontos (p=0,007). No Teste de Alcance as crianças com perda auditiva e as ouvintes obtiveram as seguintes medianas: Alcance Anterior - 24/29 (p=0,021); Alcance Lateral Direita - 16/22 (p=0,001); Alcance Lateral Esquerda - 14,5/22 (p=0,002), respectivamente. Os resultados sugerem que as crianças com perda auditiva neurossensorial apresentaram déficit de equilíbrio, em comparação com as crianças ouvintes. Tal fato pode estar relacionado com a perda auditiva neurossensorial, uma vez que crianças com essa deficiência podem apresentar, concomitantemente, alterações de equilíbrio causadas pelo déficit na quantidade e/ou qualidade das informações provenientes do aparelho vestibular. Assim, foi possível identificar que as crianças com deficiência auditiva apresentam alterações no equilíbrio, quando comparadas as crianças ouvintes.

Physical inactivity and aging are functional disability factors for older individuals, causing loss of balance and increasing the risk of falls. The purpose of this study was to compare the balance of physically independent older individuals, both participants and non-participants in a regular exercise program. Fifty six physically independent older participants were divided into G1ACTIVE = 28 individuals who participate in a regular exercise program and G2SEDENTARY = 28 individuals who did not participate in any physical exercise program. All participants underwent an eyes-open during one-leg balance test on a force platform. The postural oscillation parameters included center of pressure (COP); sway mean velocity and frequency of COP oscillations. G2 SEDENTARY showed higher postural instability than G1ACTIVE. Significant differences were observed for the main balance parameters. The results of this study support the concept that participation in regular physical activity is beneficial for postural balance of older individuals.

Introduction Stroke (CVA) is a multifactorial disease, where the combination of risk factors may be associated with and contribute to its development. Objectives The objective of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of risk factors for stroke in the physically independent elderly in the city of Londrina, Brazil. Materials and methods This study was composed of the elderly individuals participating in the EELO project (Age and Ageing Study, Londrina, State of Paraná, Brazil). In order to identify the risk factors for stroke, one used a structured questionnaire with information about socio-demographic and anthropometric data as well as lifestyle variables, such as physical inactivity and smoking, presence of comorbidities, and laboratory tests for diagnosis of diabetes and dyslipidemia. Results The study included 454 elderly with mean age of 69.7 years. There was a significant relationship between the number of risk factors and gender (p = 0.01), with higher prevalence among women. In separate analysis, the elderly between 60 and 69 years had a higher incidence of obesity (p = 0.03) and dyslipidemia (p = 0.04). Regarding gender, obesity (p = 0.01), smoking (p = 0.0001), vascular disease (p = 0.0001) and heart disease in the family (p = 0.01) higher incidence was shown in females, according toChi Square’s test. Conclusions It is concluded that elderly people aged less than 70 years and older women were those with the highest number of risk factors for CVA. Therefore, it may be suggested the development of primary care programs in order to promote information on the prevention of these risk factors and thus reduce the occurrence of stroke.
