The study sample includes 438 Near East University students who received pedagogical formation education via distance education. The sample consisted of 235 pedagogical formation students to implement the efficacy scale, 290 to implement the attitude scale, and 73 who took part in semi-structured interviews. In the study, it was concluded the students generally perceive themselves as being sufficiently prepared in terms of curriculum development. There are no differences with regard to the overall professional attitude of the students. Students generally reported positive views regarding the education they receive.
The purpose of this study is to determine the recent trends in foreign language learning through mobile learning. The study was conducted employing document analysis and related content analysis among the qualitative research methodology. Through the search conducted on Scopus database with the key words "mobile learning and foreign language learning", the study is based on the analysis of the documents published between the years 2005 and 2017; their distribution took place by years, subject areas, document types, country/regions, and the affiliated universities of the authors. The varied findings revealed that the analysis of the studies published on Scopus database was important in terms of content for the significance of foreign language learning through mobile learning.
Special education is one of the educational fields in which technology plays a significant role. Mobile technologies change our lifestyles as well as the way we learn. Mobile learning is the use of mobile technologies alone or in combination with other information and communication technologies to enable learning any-where, anytime. The purpose of this study is to determine the recent trends in special education through mobile learning. Technology integration studies in the literature generally focus on visual dictionaries, sign language, vocabulary exer-cises or story books. Besides, it is seen that the studies report the results, not the process. However, there are few studies describing the whole technology integra-tion process with a holistic approach. The study is conducted employing docu-ment analysis and related content analysis among the qualitative research method-ology. Through the search conducted on Scopus database with the keywords "mobile learning and special education" the study is based on the analysis of the documents published. All articles published in scopus were examined. Their dis-tribution by the years, subject areas, document types, country/regions and the af-filiated universities of the authors themes have been examined. The varied find-ings reveal that the analysis of the studies published on Scopus database is im-portant in terms of content for the significance of special education through mo-bile learning. Mobile learning method used in special education is among the ef-fective results. However, only a few researches have been conducted..
Assistive technologies are an important factor for individuals with special needs to benefit from educational services. The aim of this research is to determine the opinions and thoughts of special education students on the use of technologies. The study group of the research consisted of 41 teacher candidates studying in Cyprus and Russian universities in the special education department in their classes in the fall semester of the 2020–2021 academic year. With regard to the collection of research data, it aims to determine students’ views with the ‘Personal Information Form’ developed by the researchers to determine the demographic characteristics of the research group and the ‘Semi-Structured Interview Form’ prepared by the researchers. The descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of the data obtained from the interview questions. As a result of the research, special education teacher candidates’ use of the assistive technologies is given in detail in the results section.
Instruction materials help students to acquire more memorable information. Instruction materials have an important effect on providing more permanent and simple way of learning in every step of education. Instruction materials are the most frequently used by primary school teachers. Primary school teachers should support their lectures with instruction materials in order to provide permanent learning. The Teaching Technologies and Material Designing (TTMD) course which is one of the compulsory courses that students must take aims to acquire students the information and skills related with the preparation and use of materials. Evaluation of TTMD course is important in terms of the effectiveness of the course which provides the opportunity of motivating the students to learn by attracting their attention, keeping their attentions alive, making abstract concepts more concrete, facilitating the acquisition of knowledge in an organized way in the process of learning and teaching. In this context, it was aimed to determine the opinions of students in the department of primary school teaching about preparation and use of materials through teaching practice which is done within TTMD course in this study. This study is a descriptive study based on qualitative data. The sample of this research included 37 students from the department of primary school teaching who took TTMD course in the second semester in 2014-2015 academic year at Ataturk Education Faculty of Near East University or students who took this course in previous academic years. The data of this research were collected with structured interview form. According to the results, it was revealed that primary school teachers’ candidates attach importance to prepare and use materials based on their answers about the use and preparation of materials in instruction. When the opinions of primary school teachers candidates about the criteria that they give value in preparing and using materials, it was figured out that they emphasize the criteria such as suitability for student level, suitability for aim, simplicity and easy comprehensibility. Furthermore, the results indicated that primary school teachers’ candidates mostly experience difficulty in finding suitable materials and tools for the aim. It was also revealed that the majority of primary school teachers’ candidates stated that they will use materials and a few of them indicated that they will not use materials since they find materials as insufficient based on their answers about the question asking if they will use the materials which they prepared in TTMD course when they begin teaching profession. Keywords: primary school, primary teaching candidates, teaching technologies and material designing (TTMD) course, material design, instruction materials
The aim of this study is to determine the latest trends in mobile technologies used in the education of the hearing impaired. Technology integration studies in the literature generally focus on visual dictionaries, sign language, word exercises or story books. In addition, it is seen that the studies report the results, not the process. However, there are few studies that describe the holistic technology integration process with a holistic approach. The study was conducted using qualitative research methodology, document analysis and related content analysis. Working with the keywords "mobile technology and hearing impaired" in Web of Science database is based on the analysis of published documents. All articles published in Web of Science have been examined. Affiliated universities of the distribution, subject areas, document types, country / regions and author themes by years were examined. Various findings reveal in terms of determining the importance of the analysis of the studies published in Web of Science database on the hearing impairments through mobile learning in terms of content. A total of 54 studies were analysed. It was concluded that the most studies related to technology were carried out in 2001 and 2019. It turns out that the first study was carried out in 2001.When literature review was done, it was concluded that most studies were conducted in 2019. It was also concluded that the most studies were in the field of Computer Science Theory Methods. It is mostly published as a full text. When looking at the scanning areas in the Web of Science index, it was seen that the most study area is in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index-Science area. When the universities of the researchers were analysed, it was also concluded that the researcher who carried out the most research was from Anadolu University. Although technology is very important in education, the effects of mobile learning on the hearing impaired should be further investigated and results should be shared.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
