The objective of this study was to analyze the contribution of nursing to patient safety in Brazil. The research method applied the integrative literature review. Databases searched were BDENF, Lilacs, Medline, SciELO and PubMed, by means of the descriptors 'patient safety', 'nursing care' and 'Brazil'. Articles assessed refer to the period 2009-2014, available in Portuguese, English and Spanish. At the end, fifteen articles were selected. The publications evince the existence of nursing positive actions on patient safety. Concluding, the research reflects on the importance of error identification and use of tools to improve the safety culture in Brazilian institutions.

Objective: To assess the frequency of the leadership practices performed by the manager nurses of hospital institutions and their association with the variables of the socioprofessional profile. Method: Cross-sectional, descriptive, correlational study conducted in four hospitals in a city of the state of São Paulo. A sociodemographic questionnaire and the instrument Leadership Practices Inventory were used. Data collection and analysis were based on an exemplary Leadership Practices Model. Results: Eighty-four manager nurses participated in the study. The mean values of the leadership practices used by the nurses were: enable others to act (50.6); encourage the heart (48.2); model the way (46.7); challenge the process (43.3); and inspire a shared vision (43.1). Data analysis also evidenced a correlation between the practice encourage the heart and the variables time of care and employment relationship. Conclusion: The study evidenced the presence of manager nurses exercising moderate leadership, and promoting teamwork, an environment of trust, and a horizontal vision. However, moderate values also reveal managerial aspects to be improved by the leaders by means of organizational strategies and/or tools aimed at best leadership practices.
the authors believe this investigation will contribute for the improvement of nurses' necessary managerial skills and also to identify gaps in this area of their education.
Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar de acuerdo a la perspectiva de las enfermeras, los factores o dificultades que limitan la aplicación de sistematización de la asistencia de enfermería relacionados con la gestión de recursos humanos en los hospitales donde trabajan. <br /><br />Se trata de un estudio cualitativo, basado en el marco de la hermenéutica-dialéctica. La muestra estuvo conformada por 32 enfermeras de tres hospitales en una ciudad en el sur de Minas Gerais. Se utilizó el grupo focal con la pregunta guía: "¿La gestión de los recursos humanos en enfermería conlleva dificultades en la implementación de la sistematización de la atención de enfermería?". Después de las entrevistas, los discursos fueron transcritos totalmente. El análisis de contenido permitió extraer la gestión de categorías de los recursos humanos y las dificultades para la sistematización de la asistencia de enfermería en el trabajo diario de enfermería. <br /><br />Los resultados mostraron que puntos de dificultad tales como: reducción del número de empleados, el absentismo, la rotación y la falta de compromiso con la profesión, donde establecer un dimensionado correspondiente del marco de enfermería es esencial para asegurar la excelencia de la asistencia al cliente. Sin embargo, para la puesta en marcha con éxito de la sistematización de la asistencia de enfermería es necesario tener en cuenta el número de personal de enfermería, la asistencia de la complejidad requerida por los pacientes e incluso superar la resistencia de algunas enfermeras que todavía no entienden la sistematización de la asistencia de enfermería como un respaldo legal de la profesión.<br /><br />
Objective: to analyze the occurrence of work accidents and the self-esteem of nurses in
hospitals of a municipality of Minas Gerais.Method: descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study developed with 393 nursing
professionals from three hospitals of a municipality in southern Minas Gerais. The
Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and a questionnaire to characterize the population and
work accidents were used for data collection. Data analysis was performed using
Person's chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test, Cronbach's alpha, odds ratio and
logistic regression.Results: of the professionals studied, 15% had suffered an accident at work and 70.2%
presented high self-esteem. Through the analysis, it was observed that smoking,
religious belief and an outstanding event in the career were significantly
associated with work accidents. In relation to self-esteem, family income, length
of time working in the profession and an outstanding event in the career presented
significant associations.Conclusion: factors such as smoking, religious belief, family income, length of time working
in the profession and an outstanding event in the career can cause professionals
to have accidents and/or cause changes in self-esteem, which can compromise their
physical and mental health and their quality of life and work.
Ainda que a ludicoterapia tenha valor terapêutico na hospitalização e necessite ser incorporada no processo de cuidar em Enfermagem Pediátrica, sua utilização não é efetiva nas instituições brasileiras. Sendo assim, objetiva-se apreender dos acadêmicos de Enfermagem o fazer práticas lúdicas com crianças hospitalizadas durante a formação profissional. Metodologicamente, adotou-se a abordagem qualitativa fenomenológica, considerando 16 acadêmicos do oitavo período do Curso de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal de Alfenas, após Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido. Utilizou-se entrevista aberta com a questão norteadora: Como são as atividades lúdicas no cotidiano de trabalho em Unidade Pediátrica? Os resultados são evidenciados pelas categorias motivação/gratificação, falta de empenho e iniciativa, e impotência. Por conseguinte, considerou-se que a inserção do lúdico em pediatria se processa gradativamente, e que o fazer práticas lúdicas implica rever a formação acadêmica, tornando a articulação ensino/pesquisa/extensão forte e coerente, para que os conteúdos enfatizem a humanização e integralização da assistência.
