Recent studies show limited research on the development of learning media that effectively addresses critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity(4C) characteristics. However, there is an urge for nurturing the 4C characters of vocational high school graduates in the 21st Century, especially critical thinking. Hence, this study aims to develop and discover the feasibility, usability, and effectiveness of critical thinking-based interactive learning media for Basic Mechanical Engineering. This study used the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) development concept. The information design in developing the learning media was based on critical thinking aspects by Facione in ATC21S. The critical-thinking-based interactive learning media (CTBILM) were developed for mobile learning which can be used in IOS and Android. The alpha test showed promising results, especially from material experts. In addition to that, the User Acceptance Test (UAT) also shown a significant score making CTBILM quite feasible. We also argue that the significant change in student critical thinking from the statistical t-test on pretest and posttest are due to CTBILM.
E-learning is very supporting the implementation of learning, because it uses teaching materials that are independent, so it can be accessed at any time. E-learning can improve students’ absorption of subject matter, active student participation, and the ability and quality of information that when using ordinary devices will be difficult. If carefully designed, e-learning can increase levels of learning interactions. Unlike the case with conventional learning, not all students can ask questions or express their opinions in the discussion, because the opportunities are very limited. Based on these assumptions, it is necessary to conduct a study of the e-learning prototype development strategy. Specifically, the purpose of this study was to develop a prototype of an electronic learning device using Moodle. This research is Research and Development with the Four-D development model. The results of the study were in the form of a prototype e-learning CASE-based Mathematics learning device. In conclusion, the prototype can be developed into a complete mathematics learning media.
Writing this paper aims to discuss the values of vocational education the right was developed in vocational high school. So that vocational high school have character innovative, creative, productive, competitively, and grow a sustainable future front as well as the principles, policies, strategies and challenges development of the values education in vocational high schools. Development of the value education in vocational high schools are required to build professional values education continuing vocational future. The value education of vocational build independence rational learners to find maximum benefit, the vocational high schools can learn from global values to develop local values and support the development of locally in the context of globalization. In doing uptake of global value, vocational high schools are advised to use the three theories, namely: (1) the theory of trees, (2) the theory of crystal, (3) the theory of the bird cage.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
