Resumo: Bernardino de Sahagún chegou à Nova Espanha em 1529 e permaneceu na América até sua morte, em 1590. O principal objetivo do frade era a conversão dos antigos mexicanos, e para o sucesso desta escreveu um manual no qual pretendia descrever o universo cultural pré-hispânico da Mesoamérica, para que os demais missioná-rios pudessem averiguar a permanência da antiga religião, podendo predicar contra ela, quando necessário. Abstract: Bernardino de Sahagún came to New Spain in 1529 and remained in America until his death, in 1590. Bernardino de Sahagun's goal in New Spain was the conversion of the natives to the Christian religion. He wrote a book describing the indigenous cultural universe in order to help other missionaries to recognize the permanence of ancient religion, trying to eliminate it.

Este artigo problematiza os divergentes posicionamentos sobre raça e etnia nas Atas e Trabalhos do Primeiro Congresso Brasileiro de Eugenia, associando-os às ideias de hereditariedade. Tal evento, ocorrido no Rio de Janeiro em 1929, foi considerado como a maior manifestação pública da eugenia no Brasil. Destacamos, por um lado, a fundamentação científica da proposta de seleção de imigração de Azevedo Amaral, e por outro lado, o posicionamento de outros eugenistas contrários à proposta, protagonizado por Edgard Roquette-Pinto. Portanto, este trabalho contribui por evidenciar a estreita e complexa influência do mendelismo na discussão de raça e etnia por eugenistas brasileiros.
Resumo O artigo problematiza as relações de gênero no primeiro Congresso Brasileiro de Eugenia, realizado no Rio de Janeiro, em 1929. Abalizadas como a maior manifestação pública do movimento eugênico no Brasil, as Atas e Trabalhos do Congresso foram foco de uma análise das questões de gênero expressas sob o espectro de intrínsecas concepções sobre hereditariedade e reprodução. As problematizações empreendidas se empenham em discutir, por meio do trabalho de diversos participantes do congresso, o papel e o status da mulher na eugenia brasileira, o controle reprodutivo no Brasil e a relação entre os estudos envolvendo a determinação de sexo biológico e a melhora da raça humana.
As relações entre história das ciências e ensino de ciências são objeto de análise e discussão de historiadores e especialistas em educação científica há algumas décadas e, desta reflexão, se apresenta como consenso a proficuidade destas relações. Neste estudo teórico, buscamos construir uma proposta que privilegia os aspectos culturais relativos às ciências em seu ensino. Para tanto, analisamos possíveis contribuições que um diálogo efetivo entre a recente corrente historiográfica associada à história cultural das ciências e a educação em ciências pode gerar, com vistas à formação de um cidadão reflexivo e crítico, utilizando a análise do discurso em sua vertente francesa como dispositivo analítico para considerarmos a produção de sentidos nessa perspectiva.
A História das Ciências e da Matemática tem sido apontada como uma das possíveis abordagens para o ensino e muitos têm sido os âmbitos destas discussões. Neste artigo, apresentamos uma proposta teórica acerca dessa interface que remete a três possíveis dimensões: a epistemológica, que é fundamentada nos debates acerca da natureza da Ciência; a sociocultural, que tem como foco as conexões entre história cultural das Ciências, sociologia das ausências e educação problematizadora; e a da práxis, que se baseia na proposta freiriana de temas geradores. Debatemos cada uma destas dimensões compreendendo a abordagem histórica com um enfoque interdisciplinar nas aulas de Ciências e de Matemática como forma de tornar os conteúdos compreensíveis e significativos para os estudantes.
