INTRODUÇÃO: A hipertensão arterial é uma patologia que acomete mais de 25% da população mundial acarretando má qualidade de vida e taxa de mortalidade elevada. A alimentação saudável é um dos fatores primordiais no tratamento desta patologia, diminuindo os agravos em saúde. Estudos mostram que adotar a dieta DASH como padrão alimentar reduz a pressão arterial, tornando esta dieta uma boa alternativa tanto no tratamento quanto na prevenção da hipertensão arterial. OBJETIVO: Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir informações e levantar dados sobre a dieta DASH no tratamento da hipertensão arterial. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, desenvolvida através de pesquisas em materiais elaborados nos últimos 12 anos. RESULTADOS: Entre os resultados observados a dieta DASH tem uma influência considerável no tratamento da hipertensão arterial em indivíduos hipertensos, bem como foram encontrados resultados positivos em indivíduos normotensos que aderiram a este tipo de dieta.
INTRODUÇÃO A população idosa vem crescendo de forma considerável nos últimos anos no Brasil. Nessa faixa etária o estado nutricional é um importante preditor da saúde de modo geral, tornando-se imprescindível uma maior atenção com a alimentação e nutrição do idoso. As mudanças fisiológicas que acontecem nessa fase restringem a ingestão alimentar adequada refletindo no estado nutricional desse grupo etário. Em âmbito hospitalar, o consumo alimentar dos idosos pode ser ainda mais prejudicado, sendo necessário um acompanhamento nutricional regular. OBJETIVO: Avaliar o consumo de macronutrientes de idosos hospitalizados. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de um estudo do tipo transversal com abordagem quantitativa, realizado na enfermaria de internação da clínica médica do Hospital Universitário Lauro Wanderley (HULW), localizado na cidade de João Pessoa/PB. Utilizou-se dados de consumo alimentar de indivíduos de ambos os sexos com idade igual ou superior a 60 anos, coletados no período de agosto a outubro de 2021. O consumo alimentar foi avaliado por meio do Recordatório de 24 horas (R24h). A avaliação nutricional foi realizada por meio da Mini Avaliação Nutricional (MAN), exame físico e avaliação antropométrica, utilizando dados de peso, altura, circunferência do braço (CB) e circunferência da panturrilha (CP). Para análise estatística, utilizou-se o teste t de Student, considerando p <0,05. RESULTADOS: A população estudada foi composta por 30 idosos, sendo 56,7% do sexo masculino. A maioria dos pacientes apresentou diagnóstico nutricional de eutrofia (42,9%), seguido pelo alto percentual (32,1%) de baixo peso de acordo com o IMC. Segundo a MAN 65,4% encontravam-se em risco de desnutrição. Quanto ao consumo de macronutrientes, o consumo energético e o de carboidratos e proteínas ultrapassaram 70%, enquanto o de lipídios alcançou 58%. O consumo das gorduras saturadas, poliinsaturadas, monoinsaturadas e do colesterol manteve-se dentro da proporção diária recomendada. CONCLUSÃO: Não observou-se inadequações relevantes no consumo de energia e de macronutrientes; destacou-se apenas valores inferiores de lipídios. Esses achados sugerem que os indivíduos apresentaram um padrão alimentar saudável durante a internação hospitalar e que a avaliação do consumo alimentar de idosos hospitalizados é de grande relevância a fim de encontrar possíveis fragilidades na dieta ofertada, como também, as principais deficiências no consumo de nutrientes.
Durante o processo de envelhecimento ocorre uma série de mudanças fisiológicas, que podem influenciar no consumo alimentar dessa população, tais como: alteração no paladar, perda da capacidade funcional, bem como, aspectos psicológicos e sociais. Considera-se que a ingestão adequada de micronutrientes está associada a melhora da resposta imune e a prevenção de doenças, contribuindo assim para qualidade de vida da pessoa idosa. Avaliar o consumo alimentar de micronutrientes de idosos hospitalizados. Estudo transversal realizado com idosos, de ambos os sexos, internados na clínica médica de um hospital universitário em João Pessoa-PB, no período de agosto a outubro de 2021. Foram coletados dados clínicos, demográficos e antropométricos. Como instrumento de triagem foi utilizado a Mini avaliação nutricional (MAN), para a avaliação nutricional foram utilizados os indicadores índice de massa corporal, circunferência do braço e cincurferência da panturilha. Para avaliar o consumo alimentar aplicou-se o recordatório alimentar de 24 horas. Após a coleta, os dados foram tabulados em planilha do Software Microsoft Excel, utilizou-se técnicas de estatística descritiva e inferencial. Foi aplicado o teste qui-quadrado e t de Student, considerando diferença estatística quando o valor de p < 0,05. A amostra foi composta por 30 idosos, dos quais 56,6%, eram do sexo masculino, 65,4% apresentaram risco nutricional, segundo a MAN. Observou-se que houve prevalência de eutrofia (42,9%) seguida de baixo peso (32,1%). Quanto ao consumo de micronutrientes, observou-se que a ingestão média de cálcio, potássio, vitaminas D, E e B9 apresentaram-se abaixo do recomendado. Em contrapartida, o consumo médio de ferro, sódio, selênio, fósforo, vitaminas B1, B2 e B3 mostrou-se acima do recomendado, no entanto não ultrapassou o nível máximo de ingestão tolerável. Evidenciou-se algumas inadequações alimentares que podem ser revertidas com o estímulo à ingestão de alimentos ricos em nutrientes específicos, como vitaminas e minerais, e que assim, poderá haver uma melhor resposta ao tratamento clínico dos indivíduos.
