INTRODUÇÃO: A hipertensão arterial é uma patologia que acomete mais de 25% da população mundial acarretando má qualidade de vida e taxa de mortalidade elevada. A alimentação saudável é um dos fatores primordiais no tratamento desta patologia, diminuindo os agravos em saúde. Estudos mostram que adotar a dieta DASH como padrão alimentar reduz a pressão arterial, tornando esta dieta uma boa alternativa tanto no tratamento quanto na prevenção da hipertensão arterial. OBJETIVO: Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir informações e levantar dados sobre a dieta DASH no tratamento da hipertensão arterial. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, desenvolvida através de pesquisas em materiais elaborados nos últimos 12 anos. RESULTADOS: Entre os resultados observados a dieta DASH tem uma influência considerável no tratamento da hipertensão arterial em indivíduos hipertensos, bem como foram encontrados resultados positivos em indivíduos normotensos que aderiram a este tipo de dieta.
A síndrome de realimentação (SR) possui alta prevalência, em especial em pacientes desnutridos, no entanto, esta condição é negligenciada na maioria dos casos, apesar da sua potencial fatalidade. Pode ser definida como um grupo de complicações relacionadas a uma mudança grave de líquidos e eletrólitos associada a anormalidades metabólicas, em pacientes em jejum prolongado ou desnutridos, que são realimentados com uma quantidade de nutrientes superior à sua capacidade metabólica, podendo ser desencadeada ao reiniciar ou aumentar substancialmente o fornecimento de energia por via oral, enteral ou parenteral nesses pacientes. A identificação precoce de pacientes em risco e o reconhecimento da SR são cruciais. As principais recomendações que trazem o tema foram publicadas em 2010, pelo National Institute for Health and Clinical Excelence (NICE) e recentemente, em 2020, a American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) publicou um consenso, o qual incluiu adições aos critérios anteriores do NICE, como a adição de resultados de exames físicos, incluindo perda de gordura subcutânea e massa muscular. Para a prevenção da SR, é preconizada que a reintrodução da dieta seja feita de forma lenta e gradual, com a monitoração diária dos eletrólitos, além de prescrição de vitaminas, com destaque para a tiamina. A SR requer tratamento imediato com reposição de eletrólitos, diminuição da terapia nutricional e controle imediato de sintomas. Diante disso, faz-se necessário que a equipe multiprofissional tenha conhecimento amplo a respeito dessa síndrome, a fim de que medidas efetivas de prevenção e tratamento possam ser tomadas.
