A B S T R A C TJavan Langur (Trachypithecus auratus) has an important ecological role in conserving the forest as their habitat by spreading seeds of fruits of their food. They are also responsible for the pattern of the plant diversity and forest regeneration as their habitat. Unfortunately, Javan Langur has been listed on Appendix II of CITES and categorized as vulnerable by the IUCN. Pancuran 7 Baturaden on the Mount Slamet slope is one of the few Javan Langur habitats in Java. Information on the Javan Langur in this area was inadequate. Therefore this study was aimed to get information on the type of food and the feeding behavior of Javan Langur, particularly in Pancuran 7 Baturaden. This study used a survey method, and the Animal Scan sampling technique was applied. The variables observed were sex ratio, population size, eating position, eating process, feeding locations, feeding duration, including the food type of the Javan Langur. Observed data for each variable were analyzed descriptively as percentages, and the results showed the Javan Langur were eating by sitting and standing, were marking trees to feed, were using hands and mouth to eat, were eating leaves and fruit, were eating on the trees and bushes. There were nine plant species as their food variety, while Matoa fruit and leave (Pometia pinnata) were their preferred foods.KEY WORDS: Javan Langur, feeding behavior, Baturraden, Mount Slamet Penulis korespondensi: DWI ELIANA |

Spirulina platensis is a phytoplankton, the cell wall composed of complex sugars so easily digested by fish. The present study was carried out to investigate stimulation cycle of feed deprivation with feed supplemented S. platensis the best to increase growth, hematological and body composition of gurami (Osphronemus gouramy). Groups of 24 fish, each in triplicate, were exposed to four different treatment for a period of 56 days. Sample measurements of growth done every 14 days, hematological and body composition measurements carried out at the end of the experiment. Growth was significantly different between stimulation cycle of feed deprivation and the control (P<0.05). Conclusions result showed that stimulation cycles of feed deprivation could not improve growth and hematological, but could improve body composition. Feed deprivation is done to reduce the cost of production, high production costs due to high feed prices. During research on feed deprivation is done by giving commercial feed, this study is to provide feed supplementation S. platensis. Thus, the results of this study can be useful for science as S. platensis information can be used as a food supplement and and for the people cultivating gurami should be fed daily supplementation of S. platensis.

How to Cite

[English]: Traditional market waste is generally in the form of remnants of vegetables, fruits, leaves, rice, and others, which usually cause unpleasant odors and reduce aesthetics. Efforts that can be made to minimize the negative impact of market waste include optimizing its potential for fish feed ingredients, to reduce feed costs, especially for members of fish cultivators in Karangnangka Village, Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency. This community service program with the theme of technology transfer aims to educate and train members of fish farmers in making vegetable flour from market waste for artificial feed supplements applied to tilapia feed. The method used in this program was Participatory Action Research (PAR) through several stages, including the preparation stage, implementation stage, and the stage of program sustainability efforts. The results of the program show that through this program, fish cultivators are able to make pellets for tilapia feed equipped with vegetable waste flour or other local materials. The survival rate of tilapia seeds fed with pellets from vegetable waste is relatively good. It can be concluded that the implementation of this program is able to increase the knowledge and skills of members of fish cultivators in making fish feed pellets by utilizing vegetable waste. The result of fish feed pellets can be stored for a long time and can reduce feed costs in the fish farming process. Keywords: vegetable waste, artificial feed, tilapia
