Shark fisheries in Indonesia are still relying on the natural catch. Several shark species are important fisheries commo-dities and are highly collected. Although there are several rules to control catch, usage, and conservation status, in practice, fishermen are less submissive. This study was conducted to obtain information about species diversity, per-formance, and sex ratio of sharks which were found in Cilacap Port in October to November 2015. The method used was purposive random sampling technique. Samples were taken four times with two weeks interval for each observation. The parameters were species number, total body length, body weight, morphometry and sex. Data were analyzed descriptively. Thirty six sharks were recorded during the sampling which consisted of 14 species. Among 36 individuals, 7 individuals were juveniles, 3 individuals were adolescence, and 26 individuals were adults. Alopias superciliosus (321 cm) was the longest species, while the shortest was Sphyrna lewini (59 cm); Isurus oxyrinchus was the heaviest (100 kg) species and the lightest species was Carcharhinus falciformis (1 kg). In general, female fish were obtained more than the males.
A study on The Gender Determination Of Betutu Germ (Oxyeleotris marmorata Blkr.) by Truss Morphometrics used survey method with Simple Random Sampling design, Betutu’s germ as sample were taken from Penjalin reservoir, Brebes. The 26 distance of 13 pile points were based or Truss Morphometrics it were recorded as variables. The result of this research indicated that the size of Betutu’s A2 (origin anterior tip of snout at upper jaw – most posterior aspect of neurocranium), A4 (origin posterior point maxillary – origin of pelvic fin), B5 (origin of pelvic fin – origin of dorsal fin), B6 (origin of pelvic fin – origin of anal fin), D1 (insertion of anal fin – origin of lower caudal fin) and D3 (insertion of dorsal II fin – origin of lower caudal fin) can differentiate the gender of Betutu’s germ.
A B S T R A C TCyprinidae is a family of freshwater fish that has quite a lot of valuable members and spread almost all over the world. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of fish of the family Cyprinidae in Serayu River and their relationships. This study used survey method with purposive random sampling. Research materials were members of Cyprinidae taken from the River Serayu Banyumas, which was the collection of Mrs. Dian Bhagawati. The sequence of this study included sample collection, sample preservation, sample observation in the laboratory, i.e., identification, determination of morphological characters and species name of fish and their relationships. Observed variables were morphological characters that included body shape, colors, fins specification, the total and standard length of the body, the shape of the lateral line, the shape of the caudal fin, the position of the mouth, body length, the height and width of the caudal peduncle. The data were then computed to get the coefficient of association among species (S), clustered using UPGMA Cluster Analysis as implemented in Numerical Taxonomy System (NTSYS) version 2.02i. The observed data were also descriptively analyzed based on phenogram obtained. The fish diversity recorded were eight species i.e., Puntius orphoides, Barbodes gonionotus, Osteochilus sp., Osteochilus vittatus, Osteochilus hasselti., Labiobarbus leptocheilus, Cyprinus carpio, and Rasbora sp.. The results showed that the closest relationship based on morphological characteristics was between Puntius orphoides and Rasbora sp. which had the greatest association coefficient of 0.8292. The smallest value of the association was followed by P. orphoides and Osteochilus sp. with the value of 0.3000. This study was expected to provide information of Cyprinid fish in Serayu River and their phenetic relationship.
Cijalu River is located in Western Cilacap Regency Central Java . The river runs through forestry, of Province housing and farming areas. This condition lead to a prediction that the river has Ci lu , , diversi ,
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
