They are known about 20,000 species. Bees are the main pollinators and are crucial for many crops, and contribute to the conservation of plant biodiversity. Many plants of economic importance rely on these pollinating insects, which contribute to increased production of fruits and seeds. The beekeeping has emerged as one of the few animal husbandry activities that cause low environmental impact while providing a rapid return on invested capital. High mortality rates and the disappearance of bees leaving at risk the national and international food security. Several factors can contribute to high mortality rates, including the death of the queen, lack of food supply, poor conditions of foraging as a result of habitat loss, pesticide exposure and diseases caused by fungi, bacteria and parasites. Among the major diseases affect bees can highlight the Varroa mites, foulbrood American, Nosemosi and Collapse Disorder Colony. Discussed the importance of bees, prophylactic measures of control and preservation must be taken to ensure the maintenance and survival of bees.
Brazilian aquaculture offers great diversity of native species with potential for cultivation due to the wide biodiversity of different river basins. Because of feeding costs and the importance of species Colossoma macropomum and Piaractus brachypomus for Brazilian aquaculture is essential knowledge of nutritional requirements and factors that may influence the development of balanced rations that allow adequate productive performance of Tambaqui and Pirapitinga. This study aimed to review research results related to nutrition Colossoma macropomum and Piaractus brachypomus. In the scientific literature, publications focus on determining the nutritional requirements of protein, energy and their relationships. They are scarce reviews aimed at determining the amino acid requirements; essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamins, since, for the most part, the diets practices provided to these species are formulated using certain requirements for exotic species. The digestibility of protein fractions and energy commonly used ingredients in feeding native fish should be better clarified. Even the possibility of inclusion of alternative food in the feeding of these fish should be evaluated, especially in species Piaractus brachypomus. Among the studied species it showed the greatest lack of information. We need to deepen the knowledge of the use of lipids and carbohydrates as energy sources, resulting in possible reduction of the protein level of feed. The appropriate levels of protein and energy rations are different, there is the need for standardization of the experiments.
The present work aims to evaluate the morphological and structural characteristics of Brachiaria brizantha cultivars in the system of grazing in the intermittent stocking. The experiment was conducted at EMBRAPA -Beef Cattle. The experimental delineation used was a randomized block with three treatments and three repetitions. The treatments were constituted by grasses of the same species (Brachiaria brizantha) composed by cv. Xaraé s, BRS Paiaguá s, and the ecotype B4. On the heights of post-grazing, it was observed an interaction between seasons of the year and cultivars. It was observed that the leaf appearance rate (LAR) was higher in the cv. BRS Paiaguá s, in relation to the other pastures. The leaf elongation rate (LER) was higher in perforations of the ecotype B4. In the winter, it was registered the lowest values of leaf area index (LAI), LAR, and LER, and, as a consequence, impact in a higher leaf life duration. Although there were some structural variations between tropical climate pastures, it was possible to verify that the phenotypic plasticity of these pastures presented the same behavior, once it suffered a higher influence of abiotic factors. Therefore, all the pastures of B. brizantha converged to the same LAI indicating high phenotypic plasticity.
Most of the tropical soils that are intended for pastures are degraded or are at a certain stage of degradation. In this context, the use of nitrogen fertilization increases the quantity as well as the quality of the fodder produced and also accelerates growth, tillering, leaf production, and consequently, expansion of the aerial region and the root system. The present review of the literature aims to determine how the control of the source, location, time, and the application of a right dose of nitrogen fertilizer influences and benefits the entire ecosystem in tropical pastures with the correct use of 4R management, along with increasing the forage yields in these areas. The results showed that in tropical pastures, the recommended N dose varies with the cultivar used and the expected forage production and ranges from 50 to 500 kg N ha–1 year–1, irrespective of division in grazing cycles, with distribution in the entire pasture area
Several studies have done more on weed and nematode hosts. It is important to know a host of weeds and P. brachyurus in areas cultivated with soy. This nematode can stay in weed roots even in the absence of plants grown in the off-season, making it difficult to control them. The objective was to evaluate the host suitability of emerged weed species in cultivated areas with a soybean crop to the P. brachyurus nematode under natural infestation conditions. The surveys were conducted in commercial properties located in the municipalities of Campinorte and Rialma, both in the northern region of the state of Goias, Brazil under the no-tillage and conventional system, respectively, with a history of high nematode population densities. We evaluated 19 weed species with the highest expressivity in the properties. The population densities of the nematode ranged RFom 23 to 17,113 and 55 to 4,221 specimens per 10 grams of roots respectively. All as weed species evaluated as hosts of P. brachyurus. As species, Hyptis suaveolens, Sida cardifolia, Senna occidentalis, Coneyza canadensis and Commelina benghalensis had low population densities.
