Due to the epidemic disease COVID-19, all of the trainings continued to be given via distance education. Since the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, courses have been taught via distance education. For the first time, the vast majority of the instructors who delivered these courses offered their courses using Web-based distance education technologies. A new process has been entered due to the epidemic that has affected the world. In this process, educational institutions were caught unprepared. For this reason, since distance education is a new process, it is possible for faculty members to face various problems. Therefore, determining the opinions of the instructors about the distance education process is important for the improvement and development of the distance education system. The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of the lecturers who provide online courses via distance education through the distance education system and to make suggestions for the improvement of the system. For this purpose, interviews with semi-structured questions were held with 15 instructors in Adobe Connect application and the obtained data were analyzed descriptively. The interviews in the zoom application were recorded. The study group of the research consists of faculty members who have not taught online before, using the distance education platform for the first time. The results of the research are determining the opinions of the instructors about technology, online education, competencies, problems and adobe connect. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that the instructors need in-service training to have sufficient information about the online training platforms, they have a sufficient level of interaction with adobe connect connection, and they need immediate communication with the distance education center in technical problems.
The aim of this study is to determine the use of distance education technologies, conditions of use and how often they use various computer applications, and also to investigate the use of these applications by academicians who teach in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. In the research carried out with the scanning model, there were 370 volunteers from various universities in Russia, consisting of academicians who teach in the field of mechanical engineering. The research was carried out in the spring term of 2020–2021; before the research, a 6-week online training was given to mechanical engineer academicians. In the study, the ‘distance education technologies’ measurement tool developed by the researchers and compiled by experts in the field was used. The measurement tool was delivered to the academicians via the online method and collected. The analysis of the data was carried out by using the SPSS programme, frequency analysis, t-test and ANOVA test, and the results were added to the research with tables. Accord-ing to the results obtained from the research, although the distance education technologies of the academicians who teach in the field of mechanical engineering are satisfactory, the rate of academicians never using new technologies in the teaching process is quite low and the rate of using them very often is quite high.
Educational technology is a set of systems consisting of tech savvy equipment, processes and methods for the effective and positive implementation of educational theories. Nowadays, when the internet is becoming widespread, and mobile device technologies such as smartphones and tablets have been developing rapidly, it is possible to access educational content without being connected to a place. Today, almost everyone has smartphones. Many social networks, sites, applications are available. Many studies have shown that technology is effective in the field of education. For teachers with foreign language and their perceptions of learning through the help of technology are important. In this study, it is important to determine teachers' perception levels of mobile applications that contribute to foreign language learning. The "mobile learning perception scale" developed to access the research data. Items that are mentioned in the scale are basically positive question, "absolutely disagree", "disagree", "undecided", "agree", "strongly agree". After analysing the reliability of the survey, the overall result was found as Cronbach ? = 0,963. A total of 180 teachers attended from North Cyprus and Russian universities. According to the result of the research, the teachers' perception of mobile learning is high. But this rate is proportional to age. There is a difference in the findings regarding the use of mobile technology when looking at the professional seniority and age ranges. This is due to the fact that recently, technology-supported trainings have been increased and the addition of "material design courses" and "technology-supported trainings" at universities play an important role in increasing perceptions. The use of mobile technology can be increased by providing in-service trainings to teachers with high professional experience and ages.
This article is aimed at identifying the peculiarities of students' attitude to distance education. As a leading method, the questionnaire method was used, which made it possible to identify the students’ positive and negative attitudes regarding distance learning more effectively. The article considers students' ideas about distance learning, identifies the positive and negative aspects of the distance learning process. The authors of the article in the process of research revealed that many students of various fields of study are interested in participating in distance courses, but within the framework of mastering a second education. Some students note the usefulness of distance courses, the use of their materials at any time, and the convenience of going back to the materials they have completed at any time to fill in gaps or recall a topic. Some students reported a violation of the educational process in the distance format due to the repeated lack of Internet or its poor quality. Most of the students expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of contact communication in the distance learning process. It is proved that the majority of students believe that distance education will never replace traditional education. Mainly students of technical areas of study gave a negative assessment of the distance education system. It was revealed that students of various fields of study took distance courses that were held in other cities or countries. From the point of view of many students, educational websites have an inconvenient interface. Keywords: distance education, distance courses, students, learning process, pros and cons.
The ability to read and understand scientific information is necessary for the growth of a scientific society. Moreover, the reasons why they want to study different scientific fields are diverse. The validity and reliability of the Science Motivation Scale in Russia were investigated for this study. The first step was to determine whether or not the scale items used in the study were linguistically valid. Then, an exploratory factor analysis of the data collected from 667 college students was conducted. The next step was to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis. As a direct result, research was conducted on the correctness and reliability of SMS in the Russian context. According to the research results, thirty components and five contributing variables were found. It was suggested that future researchers conduct studies on the validity and reliability of SMS with many different populations.
The relevance of the work is determined by the need for a theoretical understanding of the problem of cultural interaction in the modern world. The process of globalization, which is underway, leads to the expansion of interrelationships and interdependencies of different peoples, including the problem of learning the specifics of cultures in the context of building an efficient local and global dialog based on the soft power policy. The methodological basis of the study consists of theoretical methods: the synthesis method is applied to study the problematic area of interaction between language and culture, in particular when considering the soft power policy. The combination of descriptive, comparative, and historical methods, as well as methods of classification and analytical reading, contributed to the formation of the author's understanding of the problem. The article presents the author's study of the soft power policy in the Russian education system. It discusses the signs of a crisis in the implementation of the soft power policy that has manifested themselves, on the one hand, through the changes of the main state documents regulating the education process, and on the other hand, the real results of the Russian language study are revealed. Upon analysis, the authors have identified and formulated a number of contradictions in the practice of the Russian language teaching in terms of the soft power policy application and also have come to the conclusion that, to overcome the crisis in the Russian language teaching, some viable options should be taken into account such as strong intellectual potential, experience and traditions of the national school.
