In the 21st century, we observe an increasingly aware of a series of global, technological and scientific advancement that create a need of good performance in science education at all levels of schooling. These challenges, among them rapid science and technological changes, a rise of information technology use, and continuing movement towards a knowledge-based society all highlight the need for deep education in science including biology, chemistry, environmental science, physics, and sustainability. In fact, the impact of teacher characteristics of self-efficacy level is important for science education and students' learning outcomes in science. In an effort to highlight this, this study investigated the impacts of teacher efficacy and motivation on students' academic achievement in science education in secondary and high schools located in Iran and Russia using motivation for academic performance scale (α = 0.89) and teacher self-efficacy scale (α = 0.91) as measuring instruments and achievement test in science education. Two hypotheses were tested using the statistical programme. For evaluating the demographical differences of the students in terms of their academic achievement, comparative analyses were performed using t-test. Results showed that gender difference was not significant but nationality difference was significant in terms of students' academic achievement in science education. Also other findings reported significant impact of teacher self-efficacy and motivation on academic achievement in science education. Implications, suggestions and recommendations for students, teachers, school administrators, parents, government, education counselors, etc. were discussed and presented.
The present study was conducted in Semnan Science and Technology Park and aimed to analyze the relationship among intellectual property rights, open innovation, and organizational performance of 30 New Technology Based Firms (NTBFs). Senior managers, middle managers, and business owners were considered as appropriate respondents for study. A total of 140 questionnaires were distributed among the respondents, and 126 filled questionnaires were returned. The research method used in this study is descriptive-correlation and the analysis was carried out utilizing Structural Equation Modeling. The factors analysis and the findings show that intellectual property rights have a significant positive relationship with open innovation. Further, open innovation has a significant positive relationship with organizational performance. Moreover, no significant relationship between intellectual property rights and organizational performance was established. But, intellectual property rights affect organizational performance positively, through open innovation acting as a mediator.
Gamification is the use of game design elements in non-game contexts and it is gaining momentum in a wide range of areas including education. Despite increasing academic research exploring the use of gamification in education, little is known about teachers' main drivers and barriers to using gamification in their courses. Through the search conducted on Web of Science database with the keywords "teacher” and “gamification", the study is based on the analysis of the documents published. All articles published in Web of Science were examined. Their distribution by the years, subject areas, document types, organization, author, country/regions, sources, meeting titles, language and the research area theme have been examined. The varied findings reveal that the analysis of the studies published on Web of Science database is important in terms of content for the significance by teacher through gamification. Gamification is used by teacher for effective results. The findings of the review provide insights for further studies as well as for the design of gamified systems
Due to the epidemic disease COVID-19, all of the trainings continued to be given via distance education. Since the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, courses have been taught via distance education. For the first time, the vast majority of the instructors who delivered these courses offered their courses using Web-based distance education technologies. A new process has been entered due to the epidemic that has affected the world. In this process, educational institutions were caught unprepared. For this reason, since distance education is a new process, it is possible for faculty members to face various problems. Therefore, determining the opinions of the instructors about the distance education process is important for the improvement and development of the distance education system. The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of the lecturers who provide online courses via distance education through the distance education system and to make suggestions for the improvement of the system. For this purpose, interviews with semi-structured questions were held with 15 instructors in Adobe Connect application and the obtained data were analyzed descriptively. The interviews in the zoom application were recorded. The study group of the research consists of faculty members who have not taught online before, using the distance education platform for the first time. The results of the research are determining the opinions of the instructors about technology, online education, competencies, problems and adobe connect. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that the instructors need in-service training to have sufficient information about the online training platforms, they have a sufficient level of interaction with adobe connect connection, and they need immediate communication with the distance education center in technical problems.
The external and internal environment's high turbulence in the education system and its entity's activity make the measures taken and development programs insufficiently productive, which reduces the education social impact and its economic productivity. The authors believe that the management of education development requires flexible adaptive mechanisms creation capable to preserve the system's functional in a varieties environment. The iteration allows solving this task, as a control function, consisting in regulatory mechanisms controllable connection in case of the criterion parameters deviations in functioning from established norms. The iteration possibilities in achieving the education target results at all levels are shown, which allows implementing the established mission projection of the higher education system. Iteration realization gives an understanding of the deviations nature, education risks identification, which allows timely adjustments in the development path. The paper is intended for researchers, heads of managerial educational structures.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
