Abstract: (In)discipline and violence in the schools: an analysis of the individual´s (de)formation within the context of mass society. Problems of indiscipline and violence in schools, highlighting some aspects of the socialization process on school premises within the context of mass society, are investigated. The author shows that the complexity of social, cultural, political and economic transformations provide new and different issues with the introduction of difficulties and challenges to forming education. These challenges are compounded with the advent of the digital age and its consolidation in a mass and consumer society that tends to turn everything into a spectacle. Current society, set within contemporary capitalism, is characterized by contradictions and particularly governed by a logic that underscores exclusion, domination, exploitation, competition and control of individuals, since it destroys their autonomy. All the issues discussed in current paper reflect on the phenomenon of violence and indiscipline in the school from the educational, social, cultural and historical points of view. Our theoretical reference is based on the Frankfurt School, especially the works by Adorno, Horkheimer and Benjamin.
This study aims to present and discuss some aspects of the concept of compassion in the philosophy of the Critical Theory of Society and in Greek tragedy, in an attempt to understand the meanings and forms attributed to it. The aim is to reach the aspects related to the dominant social formation, inquiring about how human relations are configurated, the process of sociability and the idea of experience. The text is divided as follows: a brief introduction of the topic based on some writings by Horkheimen and Adorno; a discussion of the ambiguities and contradictions attributed to the concept of compassion, presenting a few episodes in Greek tragedies in which the feeling of compassion appears. And finally we will discuss the aspects related to the dominant social formation in the context of mass society.
Citrus fruits are among the most consumed fruits by Brazilians, being grown in practically all states. Phenotyping has been associated with non-destructive optical analysis of plant characteristics, due to the use of images. The present study had the objective of estimating the morphological characteristics of Pera Rio orange fruits (Citrus sinensis) acquired in the local trade of Alta Floresta through traditional methods and using the Tomato Analyzer softwer. Measurements were made regarding length and width with the aid of a digital caliper, fruit mass using a digital precision analytical balance, total soluble solids content (ºBrix), skin thickness and height of the endocarp. The volume was also measured using the water column displacement method (VDCA), estimated diameter values with the Tomato Analyzer program, the correlation between the volumes was performed, and regression model estimates were performed based on the SigPlot program. . It was found that there was a correlation between volume estimation by the water column displacement method (VDCA) and fruit volume using the diameter estimated by the digital image (IPV), revealing that the R2 correlation coefficient was 0.80. Through the obtained results it is possible to state that the Tomato Analyzer is efficient to evaluate the volume of orange Pera Rio fruits, being able to be indicated to characterize other citrus fruits.
