Honey is a kind of food that used widely in culinary and health fields. Honey contains 50.90%–53.60% of glucose and fructose. The heating process in food would slightly convert sugars in honey to caramel. In food products, the caramel was used as a flavoring and coloring agent. Sugar degradation products formed during caramelization could contribute to antioxidants activity of honey caramel. Therefore, this study aims to identify the color development in honey caramel and antioxidant activity from honey caramelization. Antioxidant activity was analyzed with DPPH and color was analyzed by chromameter. The result showed that L*, a*, and b* value decreased as the temperatures increased. The inhibition result from light caramel 12.816%, medium caramel 29.098%, and dark caramel 33.533%. The antioxidant capacity increased as the color darkened and the temperature increased. Based on correlation analysis, there was significant value 0.058, α=0.1 between a* and b* value and antioxidant activity. Blue-green low molecular weight compounds that formed during the caramelization process could contribute to dark color and antioxidant capacity in honey caramel.
Latar Belakang: IUD adalah salah satu alat kontrasepsi jangka panjang yang efektif, tetapi penggunaan di Indonesia masih rendah. Karena inserter IUD yang biasa di pakai terlalu pendek untuk pemasangan segera pascasalin maka bentuk inserter baru (R_inseter) telah dikembangkan. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui apakah R_inserter dapat digunakan dengan mudah sesuai standard pemasangan IUD dan untuk mengetahui keamanannya. Metode: Uji klinis fase II, post test observation. Bahan dan cara: IUD yang dipasang adalah TCu380A dengan modifikasi pada inserternya (R_inserter) buatan PT Kimia Farma. Penelitian ini dilakukan di 3 Rumah Sakit dan 3 Puskesmas yang merupakan afiliasi rumah sakit pendidikan Dr Sardjito dari bulan Januari 2012 sampai April 2013. Semua klien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dimasukkan dalam penelitian ini. Pemasangan dilakukan oleh Residen atau Bidan yang telah mendapatkan pelatihan.
Kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan inovasi olahan umbi singkong bagi pelaku UMKM sektor kaki lima telah di lakukan di Salatiga pada bulan April 2019. Kegiatan ini rutin dilakukan sebagai bentuk kerjasama Pemerintah Kota Salatiga yaitu Dinas Koperasi, Usaha Kecil dan Menengah dengan Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana, Salatiga. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada para peserta terpilih mengenai potensi singkong secara umum dan memberikan keterampilan tambahan untuk membuat olahan makanan yang bersumber dari bahan pangan yang mudah ditemui di Salatiga seperti singkong sehingga dapat meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. Metode kegiatan dilakukan dalam dua tahap: tahap pertama sesi penyuluhan tentang inovasi olahan umbi singkong, dan tahap kedua adalah pelatihan pembuatan menu olahan umbi singkong yang inovatif. Respon peserta sangat antusias karena banyak mendapat pengetahuan dan pengalaman baru selama kegiatan ini berlangsung, sebagian besar menyatakan mendapatkan ide baru untuk inovasi produk dagangannya dan meminta agar diadakan lagi kegiatan semacam ini serta ada pendampingan langsung dari pemateri di kelas terutama kelas inovasi pangan.
Introduction: Trends in contraceptive injections increased in the last two decades. Hormonal contraceptive injection is available in single or combination dose. However, the products are available more than 1 ml (more than recommendation of WHO). This study aims to determine the effectiveness, safety and side effects of the contraceptive injection Depo Progestin® 3 ml, Depo Vigestron® 3 ml and Depo Vigestron® 1 ml.Methods: This study used randomized controlled clinical trial and open label. The research subject were 900 people in two center, Surabaya and Palembang. The samples were divided into 3 (three) groups, group Depo Progestin® vial 3 ml, group Depo Vigestron® vial 3 ml, and group Depo Vigestron® vial 1 ml. Each of consist 300 women using the "random permutation block". Analysis was performed 5 times, when an initial injection and a schedule of repeated injections in the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th month. The data analyzed include weight, blood pressure, menstrual pattern, and the complaints of the patients.Results: From the 900 only 862 valid samples. The results showed no signi fi cant difference between groups Depo Progestin® 3ml, Depo Vigestron® 3 ml and Depo Vigestron® 1 ml. The majority of respondents experienced an increase in weight, but still within normal limits, did not have increased blood pressure, increased menstrual blood volume, Pregnancy didn’t occured to all respondents and found no abnormalities in cervical cytology.Conclusion: Contraceptive injection of Depo Progestin® 3 ml, Depo Vigestron® 3 ml dan Depo Vigestron® 1 ml, have used during 12 months can be concluded that those tree kind of contraception were efective, safe and had no side effect.
