Integrated Admision Information System (SISMIDU) is a system that serves to conduct bed managementdata in RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. This system is a supporting facility to know the availability of bedinformation so that it can provide fast service in patients. The implementation of SISMIDU still has someobstacles that the system often encountered error in conducting patient data search, it takes a long time tosave data and system that is less update related to information availability of room in the inpatient area soas to cause inpatient buildup in the hospitalization of admission patient. The Purpose of this research is toevaluate the SISIMIDU based on user satisfaction. This type of research is qualitative research with datacollection through questionnaires. Method used is the End User Computing Satisfaction the methodconsisting aspects of content,aspects of accuracy, aspects of the format, aspects of timeliness and aspectof ease of use. Result of the research of the five aspects, among others, the aspect of content 67%respondents expressed satisfaction, aspect of accuracy 100% respondents expressed dissatisfied, aspectsof format 67% of respondents expressed dissatisfied, the aspect of timeliness 100% of respondentsexpressed dissatisfied and aspect of ease of use 100% expressed dissatisfied. It is hoped that hospitals canmake improvements and development against SISMIDU in order for SISMIDU to provide information thatsuits the needs of the user.
Writing Learning must still be based on Core Competencies (KI) which are then announced in Basic Competencies (KD) and Indicators through learning material. Similarly, the writing material results from field observations and observations. Add another competition for scientific publication of adolescents conducted at the District / City, Provincial and National Level. While the material can be achieved and competitions can be followed. In this paper, it is discussed giving habit transformation of writing through concepts and for example making students see general writing, then students look for references and field data. Only to discuss the substance of scientific writing needs field reinforcement data carried out by students and must be guided directly by the guidance teacher through habit transformation of writing so that the validity and writing of scientific writings can be accounted for. The results of habit transformation in adolescent students are quite significant, so that the 5 texts that have begun to be seen develop and several texts in the process of improvement. Of the seven texts prepared the results are quite encouraging. 2 manuscripts have started the results of their writings by fulfilling the rule of writing.
This research analyzed Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) in improving the reading comprehension ability of the 2nd semester Publishing students at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif and the difficulties found in applying the CSR technique in improving reading comprehension ability. The aims of this research were to find out if CSR strategy improved the student's reading comprehension ability and to find out the difficulties found in applying CSR strategy in improving the reading comprehension ability. The methodology used in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data of this research were the result of reading tests. The subjects of the research were forty-four students of the second semester of Publishing study program at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif. The findings of the research showed that the mean of pre-test was 54,3 and the mean of post-test was 70,2. Based on the findings and the analysis of the data above, it was concluded that using CSR improved the students reading comprehension.
In expanding the curriculum of English for Specific Purposes, needs analysis has an important role. The author examined the need of English, especially the language function, of employees at 4 (four) and 5 (five) star hotels in Jakarta. The subject of the research was the employees who had worked for at least 5 (five) years in these hotels and had a minimum educational qualification of D4/S1. The author took 20 (twenty) samples from each hotel using questionnaire instrument and analyzed the data with frequency, percentage, mean and deviation standard. The findings indicated that the most relevant functions of English in its use were providing services, providing information and offering assistance. The author applied this finding in teaching English for Hotel courses. The author viewed it significant because many students still struggled to speak English during their internship or work in hotels in Jakarta.
Can self-assessment and reflection as a part of the writing process make EFL students enhance their writing? This article presents the findings of a semester-long study conducted at four universities in Medan, North Sumatera where writing portfolio including self-assessment and reflection practices were implemented to support students make their progress. Using pre- and post- test design, it was found that the writing performance of students who used portfolio mainly focusing on combination of self-assessment and reflection for their essay writing process over a semester more increased than students who did not. The growth of writing performance corresponded to students’ ideas of improvement in writing. EFL writers who were usually concerned with correcting surface-level errors (mechanics and vocabulary) rather than global errors (organization and content), in this study, partially focused on global errors. An article of editorial is the key of newspaper which is the editor’s point of view toward an actual event that is popular when it is published. The editor provides information such as events, incidents, facts or opinion so that readers know and understand it. The objectives of the research results are: Firstly, to describe kinds of presuppositions found in Waspada daily news. Secondly, out of all data, 6 articles or editorials, there are 201 sentences with presuppositions consisting of individual, existential, lexical, factive, structural, non-factive, and counter factive presupposotions. The data show that readers must have knowledge and situational context in order to make presupposition. The articles on Waspada daily news can be made teaching materials of Presupposition in Pragmatics. Among all speech acts, there is also a presupposition made by a speaker to the listener.
What kind of linguistic features and generic structures do the students of Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif use in their discussion writing? This study aims at analyzing the linguistic features and generic structures found in the students’ writing. The SFL Theory of Genre covering linguistic features and generic structures by Gerot and Wigmel is used to analyze the data. The study uses the descriptive qualitative research method and analyzes the writing of the students who have learned how to write discussion essay. The finding is that the dominant linguistic feature of all the texts is the generic human and non-human participants. All students follow the rules of writing: the generic structure, the arguments for, the arguments against and the conclusion or recommendation. The students have put all linguistic features in their discussion writing.
