Purpose: This study investigates the interrelationship among COVID-19 anxiety, mindfulness, COVID-19 information avoidance, preventive behavior, and academic performance. Research methodology: The study assessed protective factors as mediators of COVID-19 anxiety and academic performance using WarpPLS. The study participants were K-12 Filipino students from a secondary school in Cagayan, Philippines, identified through convenience sampling. Results: COVID-19 anxiety, mindfulness, information avoidance, and preventive behavior were found to be negatively correlated. Preventive behavior is associated with improved academic performance. Conversely, there was a negative correlation between mindfulness, COVID-19 information avoidance, and academic performance. The association between COVID-19 anxiety and academic achievement is only mediated by mindfulness and preventive behavior. Limitations: Preventive factors that may affect COVID-19 anxiety and academic achievement are only considered. Also, the participants are limited to a secondary school in Cagayan, Philippines. Contribution: With the pandemic having a substantial influence on the municipality, the study would be helpful to manage and control the effect of the outbreak on the academic performance of the learners. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the practices of secondary public school teachers in preparing for classroom observation amidst the new normal of education. The emphasis of this study was drawn from the central question, "What are the practices of secondary public school teachers in preparing for classroom observation amidst the new normal of education?". Research Methodology: This study used a qualitative research design. It employed a phenomenology design to explore the practices of secondary public school teachers in preparing the new normal classroom observation. Results: Teachers believe that classroom observation is a measuring tool for achieving their professional goals or performance level. They also think that classroom observation can evaluate and assess the students' learning outcomes effectively and efficiently. Limitations: This study was limited to 22 secondary public school teachers in Cagayan, Philippines. Contribution: It can be helpful for teachers to improve their teaching techniques, strategies, methods, and instructional materials to be used amid this new normal of education.

Using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling with WarpPLS, this study examines the indirect effect of the relationship between learners' social media addiction and academic achievement in distance learning as mediated by academic procrastination. The study participants were 223 Filipino students at a secondary school in Cagayan, Philippines, who were chosen using convenience sampling. Sample sizes were calculated using the inverse square root and gamma-exponential methods. The findings indicated a positive and significant relationship between social media addiction and academic procrastination. There is also a negative and significant relationship between academic procrastination and learners' academic achievement. In terms of the indirect effects of the mediation model, the relationship between social media addiction and academic achievement is fully mediated by academic procrastination. This indicates that academic procrastination substantially impacts the strength of the correlation between social media addiction and academic achievement. The findings of the undertaking were discussed regarding their implications for institutions and future research.

This paper aimed to discover the coping, initiatives, constraints, and challenges public secondary school teachers encounter in the new normal education. The central question of this paper lies in "What are the adapting and coping mechanisms of teachers and students in the distance learning modality amidst the pandemic?". This paper used the qualitative research design and employed a phenomenological approach to investigate secondary public-school teachers' coping mechanisms and initiatives in the new normal education. This paper focused on twelve public secondary school teachers in Cagayan, Philippines. The research's findings are: (1) Most teachers encountered substantial challenges due to a lack of resources, student supervision, and duties. (2) Most teachers were constrained by the advent of the digital era. (3) Public-school teachers cope with their students' needs by employing effective initiatives and teaching strategies. (4) Despite their weariness and stress, teachers report positive outcomes such as tremendous enthusiasm and building connections with the school community. Meanwhile, the schools' adaptation to distant learning should be guided and encouraged by the following policies and concepts:(1) Access to technology for students. (2) Regular monitoring and feedback (3) Providing curriculum and instruction of the highest quality. Through this paper, teachers may benefit from adopting various coping techniques and activities for the new normal education.

Adopting technology in this new normal education improved students' engagement and motivation to learn. This paper aimed to investigate the impact of technical support on Technology Acceptance Model to examine Project PAIR in the distance learning modality employing Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling. Applying a convenience sampling technique, the investigation involved 305 senior high school learners from a secondary school in Cagayan, Philippines. Sample sizes were calculated using the inverse square root and gamma-exponential methods. Results showed that technical support directly impacts the perceived ease of use, usefulness, and attitude toward using. The findings also revealed that the perceived ease of use of PAIR has a direct impact on its perceived usefulness and attitude toward use. In contrast, perceived usefulness directly influences the attitude toward using and behavioral intention to use. Likewise, attitude towards using directly impacts the behavioral intention and actual use, while behavioral intention directly influences actual use. This paper concluded that technical support is a reliable external variable of the technology acceptance model. Hence, the application of PAIR for remote learning is strongly recommended for the school and the public. It is also recommended that the schools must ensure that they have provided technical support to ensure the PAIR functioning runs appropriately. Further implications for institutions and future studies are also discussed in this paper.

This study aimed to improve learners' academic performance in Computer Troubleshooting and Repair Techniques at Lal-lo National High School by using YouTube videos with teacher-made learning activity sheets as supplementary materials. The study employed a quasi-experimental design, particularly a one-group pretest and post-test design, in which the intervention was administered to the same participants. The result proved that the learners gained a higher mean on their post-test result than their pretest, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and post-test scores. Moreover, the intervention greatly affected the student's academic performance, particularly on the competency in Computer Troubleshooting and Repair Techniques. YouTube videos can help visual learners and students better understand a subject. These videos can catch students' imagination, especially when face-to-face learning is discouraged owing to the epidemic. The intervention material may be adapted by ICT, TLE teachers, and other disciplines.

Speaking of oral communication has frequently been labeled unfavorable to people because it requires confidence and courage. Thus, it appears to be one of the most challenging learning skills, requiring practice and exposure. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Senior High School learners' level of performance in spoken discourse and their dominant monitor performance. The study employed a descriptive-correlational research design with 156 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. Recognizing and understanding Senior High School students' monitor performance was expected to motivate teachers to address the root cause of the problem, resulting in more proficient and communicative second language use. The findings disclosed that monitoring performance is crucial in determining the level of performance of learners in spoken discourse. A firm grasp of the English language, including its grammar and vocabulary components, effective discourse management, pronunciation, and interactive communication, are critical components in developing learners' speaking abilities. Additionally, this study revealed that those enrolled in the academic track are proficient at communicating, which explains why most are labeled optimal monitor users. In this regard, they use their information appropriately to strike a balance between self-correction and fluency, ensuring that error repair does not become a barrier to communication. Future recommendations were also discussed in this paper.
