Os resultados desta pesquisa contribuem para os estudos de validade do exame CelpeBras, bem como fornecem subsídios para a elaboração de material didático, a formação de professores e a preparação de examinandos.ABSTRACT: This paper aims to describe the tasks of the Written Part of Celpe-Bras exam from 1998 to 2016-2, investigating how these tasks operationalize the theoretical construct of Celpe-Bras and contemplate the contents provided in its specifications (BRAZIL, 2002). From the material available at Acervo Celpe-Bras, the 156 Written Part's tasks were described, with the most recurrent elements in their rubrics and input materials being verified, and the description was related to the specifications presented in Celpe-Bras' manuals. The results obtained point to the need of updating the exam's specifications because, even though the tasks bring authentic input materials and propose a variety of communicative situations, predicting a relation of interlocution, involving different purposes and the production of different speech genres, these specifications are not sufficient to contemplate the complexity and variety of the exam's applied tasks. The results presented on this paper contribute for Celpe-Bras' validation studies, as well as provide subsidies for didactic material elaboration, teachers' training and preparation of examiners.* Doutora, UFRGS.
This article aims to present some of the research developed since the public availability of Acervo Celpe-Bras. Launched in 2014, Acervo compiled and made available past tests, manuals, legislation and academic research about Celpe-Bras, allowing new investigations to be conducted about the exam. Among the research made possible by Acervo are the description and categorization of the Written Part tasks of the exam, which provides resources for new Celpe-Bras specifications (Schoffen et al., 2018). Based on this description, a test preparation course was produced, which considers, in order to propose didactic sequences, the most recurrent characteristics of the tests. The research projects developed since the launch of Acervo consolidate it as a milestone in the history of the exam by promoting a more democratic access to the materials of Celpe-Bras for teachers, test takers and researchers interested in teaching, learning and assessing Portuguese as an Additional Language.
Integrated assessment in the Celpe-Bras exam and tasks of reading and writing ABSTRACTThe Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese Language for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras) aims to assess language proficiency by integrating comprehension and production skills. Despite being a controversial issue, integrated assessment is in accordance with the theoretical construct of the Celpe-Bras exam, based on a dialogical perspective of language. As such, this paper investigates how the Celpe-Bras exam presents the concept of integrated assessment in its public documents, specifications and assessment parameters. Furthermore, it discusses how the analyzed tasks assess reading and writing. The results point to the need for a better description and operationalization of integrated assessment in the exam, and demonstrate the importance of the task instruction for the integration of skills and to emphasize the complexity of comprehension assessment in this type of task. The reflections presented can contribute to the description of the comprehension and production assessment in the Celpe-Bras exam and to the promotion of new discussions on integrated tasks.
