This research is a qualitative descriptive study using secondary data as the main data. Data were collected through literature studies from the results of previous research in Sumbermanjing Wetan District. The results showed that Sumbermanjing Wetan had the potential to be used as a natural laboratory in the context of geography learning. This is supported by physical conditions in the form of diverse landscape features, quite complex social and cultural conditions. This potential includes the geological and geomorphological conditions of Sumbermanjing Wetan, the geodiversity and biodiversity of Sempu Island, social and cultural conditions, disasters, and tourism. In addition, the existence of natural resources in the area can also be used as one of the studies in fieldwork. Fieldwork-based learning can increase the skills of students in making observations, identifying, experimental, doing teamwork, and applying the use of technology. Geography learning topics at Sumbermanjing Wetan include physical, social, tourism, disaster, environmental, and other areas of geography. Indeed, implementing fieldwork needs to be independent, especially in managing data. In addition, fieldwork-based learning will continue to develop in line with the convenience of technology and increasingly advanced research studies with challenges faced including security, finance, health and safety, access to the field, and damage to the surrounding area used for fieldwork due to sampling exaggerated.
This research explains about Indonesian labor competitiveness from perspective of the 5th pillar GCI (education and training). The purpose is to (1) measure the readiness of Indonesian labor at the ASEAN level and (2) ana-lyzed relationship between GCI and HDI. This research was using descriptive and inferential analysis. The re-sults show Indonesia is in fourth place in ASEAN. Coefficient correlation between the 5th pillar of CGI and HDI is 0.874. This explain the quality of human development is strongly related to global competitiveness. It can be interpreted that increasing human resources will also have positive impact on global competitiveness trough improving education.
The reliance on native MODIS-16 PET potential evapotranspiration (PET) in scarce-data-driven areas is growing in support among ecohydrological studies, yet information about its performance is limited or unknown as validation studies are mostly concentrated in developed countries. This study aimed to assess its performance at the monthly level using four ground measurements in a tropical watershed system with complex topography, applying a machine learning artificial neural network (ANN) to improve the estimates, and using the ANN-adjusted MODIS-16 PET to characterize the spatio-temporal patterns of PET in the Brantas watershed, as well as to understand the monthly patterns of water deficiency in areas under eight different vegetation covers. The results showed that the native MODIS-16 PET experienced overestimation with an RMSE of 37–66 mm/month and NRSME of up to 33%. The performance decreased in drier periods. The ANN-based adjustment using only one variable showed improved estimates with a reduction of RSME to only 14 mm and lower than 10% NRMSE. Sari-temporal patterns of PET in the Brantas watershed showed that the PET characteristics were not uniform. The southern part of the Brantas watershed has areas with relatively lower PET that are, thus, more prone to water deficiency. Complex topography and climate gradients within the watershed apparently became the multi-controllers of PET variations. The difference in vegetation cover also influenced the magnitudes of water deficiency.
Remaja dalam sudut pandang kependudukan termasuk ke dalam kelompok rentan. Kondisi demikian dikarenakan remaja memiliki rasa ingin tahu yang tinggi terhadap berbagai hal. Dampak interaksi lingkungan, baik fisik ataupun sosial sangat rentan mempengaruhi remaja. Sebaliknya remaja merupakan investasi suatu negara, mengingat remaja merupakan subjek dan objek dalam pembangunan. Kondisi demikian membutuhkan suatu langkah strategis dalam mengatasi permasalahan demikian, salah satunya melalui membangun Sekolah Siaga Kependudukan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diahadiri oleh 40 siswa-siswa pilihan MA Al-Ittihad, dengan dua kegiatan utama yaitu sosialisasi dan peltihan. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini menekankan pada metode ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi. Kegiatan ceramah dan diskusi dilakukan pada kegiatan sosialisasi. Sedangkan metode demonstrasi dilakukan pada kegiatan pelatihan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian Pendidikan Kependudukan dirasakan oleh siswa melalui bertambahnya kompetensi kognitis dan psikomotorik siswa. Pada ranah kognitif, partispan memperoleh pengetahuan baru berupa wawasan dan gambaran kondisi kependudukan Indonesia. Selain itu, pada ranah keterampilan siswa terbentuknya softskill sebagai upaya membangun Sekolah Siaga Kependudukan
