ResumoA perspectiva histórico-cultural considera a capacidade de significação como condição especificamente humana. Nesta pesquisa, investigaram-se processos de significação em bebês, em suas relações afetivas e vínculos. Conduziram-se estudos de casos múltiplos, exploratórios, longitudinais, em contextos diversos (casa, creche, abrigo). A análise desdobra-se de videogravações e entrevistas, com foco no comportamento de choro/incômodo. Verificou-se que significações e práticas dirigidas aos bebês variavam (busca insistente pelo sorriso; atenção e cuidado; consolo à distância). Em função dos vínculos/contextos, significações eram vivenciadas através da intercorporeidade bebê-parceiros, estes últimos sendo tanto adultos, como pares de idade. No drama das relações, concretizavam-se significados sobre a posição do bebê naquele espaço, papel a ser assumido e o esperado da criança, exigindo recursos diferenciados da mesma. A direção da construção de significados dependeu de contexto/interação. Significando e sendo significada pela emoção e corporeidade, na relação bebê-ambiente, a criança constrói significações enraizadas na cultura, constitutivas da sua subjetividade. The infant and his/her meaning construction within diverse affective relations and cultural contexts AbstractCultural-historical perspective considers signification processes as a specifically human condition. Thus, signification processes were investigated through infants' affective relations and bonds. Exploratory multiple case studies were conducted, longitudinally, within diverse contexts (home, daycare center and foster institution). Analysis unfolded from videotapes and interviews, focused on infants' crying/annoying behavior. It was verified that significations and practices varied largely (searching for a smile; attention and care; distant comforting). Depending on bonds, significations were experienced through infant-partner intercorporeality, partners being either adults or peers. Within relational drama, significations were materialized regarding infant's position, his/her role and expectations, requiring differentiated means. The direction of the signification construction depended on contexts/interactions. Attributing meanings and being signified through emotion and embodiment, throughout infant-environment relation, the child constructs significations rooted on culture, which are constitutive of their subjectivities. New studies are required. Issues are raised regarding infant care.

Ao longo de toda a minha vida minha mãe não poupou esforços em me ensinar a agradecer sempre, e primeiramente, à Deus: pela vida, pela saúde, pela "força de vontade", pelas pessoas que Ele colocou em minha vida e pelas oportunidades que tive. RESUMO.Neste estudo realizou-se uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre o tema "Desenvolvimento de bebês em situação de acolhimento institucional", tendo-se em vista as dificuldades em implementar ações neste sentido e as implicações sociais e teóricas referentes a esse tema. A revisão foi conduzida em duas bases de dados -a nacional (BVSPsi) e a internacional (PsicInfo) -, com cruzamento das palavras-chave bebês e abrigos. Os resultados revelaram baixa produção de estudos sobre medidas de acolhimento com foco em bebês, e nos estudos não há destaque diferenciado para a experiência com bebês nesse contexto, nem para aspectos do seu desenvolvimento; o eixo temático colocou em destaque formação dos vínculos iniciais -principalmente em termos de rompimento do vínculo materno -, tratando menos sobre a relação com cuidadores. Observou-se ainda que, no decorrer das últimas três décadas, pesquisas internacionais apresentaram maior diversidade na oferta de serviços de proteção e maior variabilidade de temas discutidos. Entre as conclusões, destaca-se a necessidade de ampliar os estudos sobre acolhimento de bebês. Palavras-chave: Bebês; abrigos; revisão. INFANTS' (IN)VISIBILITY IN THE DISCUSSION REGARDING FOSTER HOME CAREABSTRACT. Due to the difficulties of its implementation, as well as social implications and theoretical ones about babies' development in a situation of institutional care, it was carried on a systematic literature review on this issue. The review was conducted in two databases, national (BVS-Psi) and international (PsicInfo), with the intersection of the keywords infants and foster home. Results revealed that the academic production of researches concerning foster care for infants is not extensive; neither the babies' experience in the context of foster home care nor their developmental aspects are specially highlighted in the studies ; the thematic axis regarding the construction of bonds is highlighted, focusing especially in terms of the breaking up of infant's relationship with the mother, and less concerning the babies' relationship construction with the caregivers and it was observed that during the last three decades, international researches presented a higher diversity of protection services and greater variability of issues under discussion. Among the findings, we highlight the need to expand studies on babies' institutional care. Keywords: Infants; shelters; review. With a global extent, the pandemic of the new coronavirus and the resulting measures to contain the contagion imposed immediate changes in the routine of people and societies. In view of this historical event, the first part of this theoretical study discussed its relationship with the concept of crisis, while circumscribing human development processes, mobilizing reorganizations in life trajectories. In the second part, the intensification of the use of digital tools to support communication during social isolation was highlighted, particularly reflecting on new interactive arrangements and inter-corporeal experiences. The paper reflects on the proximal processes in the new interactive and contextual configurations through the bioecological theory of human development and, based on concepts of the enactive theory, discusses possible implications of the new perceptual fields and the production of meanings with the repositioning of the body and new modes of engagement. The study highlights that the changes, events, relationships, and effects that we are experiencing (trans)form our forms of sociability and bases of psyche.

Partindo de pressupostos histórico-culturais e sociointeracionistas, que entendem as interações do bebê com seus cuidadores como pilares sobre os quais se estruturam e se desenvolvem complexas funções do psiquismo humano, buscou-se investigar como se constituem as interações de bebês em programas de acolhimento familiar e institucional. Para tanto, foram realizados estudos exploratórios e longitudinais por meio de três videogravações mensais, com dois bebês: um em acolhimento familiar acompanhado de um a três meses de idade; e uma em acolhimento institucional, de três a cinco meses. Categorias de observação foram quantificadas. Resultados apontaram os cuidados básicos como eixos condutores das interações em ambos os contextos, embora na família acolhedora houve maior amplitude e sobreposição de outros tipos de enredos interativos. Discutiu -se o modo como os campos interativos dos bebês se configuraram em articulação com elementos de natureza histórica e semiótica, que se atualizaram nas situações. A importância da formação dos cuidadores quanto ao importante papel das interações e mediação foram sinalizadas, bem como as limitações do estudo e necessidade de novas investigações com amostras maiores.Palavras-chave: Bebês; interação social; criança acolhida.ABSTRACT. Based on historical-cultural and socio-interactionist perspectives, which understand the infant interactions with his/her caregivers as pillars on which the complex functions of the human psyche are structured and developed, we investigated how infant interactions are constituted within contexts of foster and institutional care. Exploratory and longitudinal studies were carried out through three monthly video recordings with two infants: one in a foster care, followed from 1 to 3 months of age; and one in institutional care, from 3 to 5 months. Categories of observation were quantified. Results highlighted basic care as the driving force behind interactions in both contexts, although in the foster family there was a greater amplitude and overlapping of other types of interactive frames. It was discussed how the infants' interactive fields were configured in articulation with elements of historical and semiotic nature, which were updated in the situations. Introduction: Based on the perspective of children’s intersubjectivity, it is understood that infants are able to interact with infants from a very early age. These interactions can offer important constitutive experiences for them. Objective: It was investigated how interactions between infants-infants/toddlers in institutional care occur, describing: the frequency of these interactions; the emotional-communicative resources involved; partners’ responsiveness; and the environmental organization. Methods: A qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory case study was conducted. Participants were focal baby (aged between 10 and 13 months) and their interactive peers (4 to 17 months) in institutional care. We used weekly video recordings for three months in the naturalistic context. The categories “attention orientation”, “search/maintenance of proximity”, “social exchanges”, and “responsiveness” were quantified and compared with the interaction between infant and caregiver. Interactive episodes were also thoroughly described. Results: Cribs, strollers, gates, and grids, with few toys available, marked the organization of the physical-social space. It was observed that the infants spent most of their time in individual activities (alone); and their social behaviors were more often directed to caregivers. The interactions between infants/toddlers were less frequent, although it was with the peers that social exchanges, joint activities, and co-regulated interactions occurred the most (with reciprocity and sharing). Peer responsiveness also involved empathic and pro-social behaviors (with experiences of interpersonal engagement), where attentional, emotional, and motivational processes operated. Conclusion: Peers interactions between infants/toddlers in institutional care were infrequent. However, when it occurred, the children showed sensitivity and responsiveness to their peers' emotional-communicative expressions. The organization of the institutional environment proved to be a relevant constraint of peer interactions: due to the material/spatial arrangement that made contact between children difficult; and by the absence of the adult as a promoter of these interactions. Finally, we call attention to the need for further investigations about interactive indicators of infants in institutional care.

Práticas de cuidado de crianças com bebês em instituição de acolhimentoCare practices of children with babies in a foster institution Prácticas de cuidado de bebés por los niños en instituciones de acogida tensão (criança agiu frente a um risco ao bebê). Discutiu-se o caráter empático e pró-social destas práticas e seu potencial para promoção do desenvolvimento e aprendizagem das crianças acolhidas e formação da sua rede socioafetiva. Destacou-se, também, o papel mediador do adulto no planejamento do ambiente, da supervisão e da significação das ações das crianças nestes encontros. ABSTRACTAiming to investigate care practices of children with babies in institutional care, an exploratory and longitudinal case study was conducted accompanying Ana, a baby aged between 10-12 months. Based on weekly video recordings made in a naturalistic environment, episodes of care were categorized. Three final categories were described: attention-oriented care; request-oriented care (the child met the infants' expressed needs); stress-oriented care (the child acted upon a risk to the baby). The empathic and pro-social character of those practices, their potential to promote foster children's development and learning, and the formation of their social-affective network were discussed. The mediating role of the adult in planning the environment, the supervision and the signification of the children's actions in these encounters was also highlighted. RESUMENBuscando investigar las prácticas de cuidado de bebés por los niños en instituciones de acogida, se realizó un estudio de caso exploratorio y longitudinal acompañando a Ana, una bebé de entre 10-12 meses de edad. Por medio de videograbaciones semanales, en un ambiente natural, se categorizaron los episodios de cuidado. Se describieron tres categorías finales: cuidados orientados por atención; cuidados orientados por solicitud (el niño atendió a la necesidad expresada por el bebé) y; cuidados orientados por tensión (el niño reaccionó frente a un riesgo para el bebé). Se discutió el carácter empático y pro social de estas prácticas y su potencial para la promoción del desarrollo y aprendizaje de los niños acogidos y la formación de su red socio afectiva. Se destacó también, el papel mediador del adulto en la planificación del ambiente, de la supervisión y significación de las acciones de los niños en estos encuentros.

Human beings are constituted through the presence and actions of others whom they encounter during the course of their lives. We are constituted by all the interactions we enact in different social contexts and through all the meanings we create together about the experiences we share. Therefore, in order to understand the ontogenesis of cognition, one must understand how meanings are constructed with the others we encounter. A substantial amount of research has addressed how infants and toddlers-when in interaction with adults-are able to understand others' actions and engage in social dynamics by coordinating and regulating adults' actions. This knowledge has advanced the field of developmental psychology significantly. However, not many efforts have been made to understand the origins of social cognition via peer interactions or explore how peer interactions constitute cognitive development. In this theoretical article, we use the microanalysis of three peer interaction episodes to discuss how the constitutive role of peer experiences can be analysed beyond isolated individual processes. The encounter, the situation and the social and relational process are used as a unit of analysis. This analytical approach considers the contributions and insights provided by the enactive theory, which offers a perspective to understand the processes of cognitive development in interactive experiences.
