Objective: To identify HIV coping strategies among HIV-positive older adults. Method: An exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach conducted with HIV-positive older adults in two HIV Specialized Care Services and using the Theory of Social Representations as a theoretical framework. A semi-structured interview technique was used, which was analyzed by the lexical analysis method using the IRAMUTEQ software program. Results: Forty-eight (48) older adults participated in the study. The HIV coping strategies adopted by HIV-positive older adults are to cling to religiosity and spirituality, to adhere to treatment, to have institutional support from health professionals and support from social networks, especially family and friends, and to choose to maintain confidentiality of the diagnosis. Conclusion: HIV coping strategies, among other things, are configured for seropositive older adults as sources of empowerment, hope, possibility of life and acceptance.
RESUMO: O estudo objetivou investigar a atuação do enfermeiro no que concerne à comunicação de notícias difíceis ao paciente sem possibilidade de cura e a aos seus familiares. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, de natureza qualitativa, na qual participaram 28 enfermeiros assistenciais atuantes em unidades de internação de um hospital público da cidade de João Pessoa-PB, no período de agosto a outubro de 2012. Para a coleta dos dados utilizou-se um formulário. Os dados obtidos foram tratados mediante a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Da análise do material empírico, emergiram duas categorias temáticas: Comunicação de notícias difíceis ao paciente e aos seus familiares: participação do enfermeiro; e Estratégias adotadas por enfermeiros para facilitar a comunicação de notícias difíceis ao paciente e aos seus familiares. Conclui-se que o enfermeiro assume um papel essencial na comunicação de más notícias ao paciente sem possibilidades terapêuticas de cura e à sua família. ReSUmOEstudo qualitativo, ancorado na Teoria das Representações Sociais a partir do pensamento de Jodelet, realizado em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva e Oncologia de um hospital universitário. Objetivou-se compreender as representações sociais dos enfermeiros acerca da religiosidade ao cuidar de pacientes em processo de morte. Os dados foram coletados de maio a agosto de 2010, utilizando a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin. As representações da religiosidade inseridas na prática do cuidar de pacientes em processo de morte valorizam as crenças dos profissionais sobre a morte, seu significado permitindo elaborar mecanismos de enfrentamento. Considera-se que a tomada de consciência se dará através da compreensão da realidade e da inserção da temática na discussão da qualidade da saúde e da capacitação dos profissionais. descritores: Enfermagem Oncológica; Cuidados Críticos; Atitude Frente à Morte; Unidades de Terapia Intensiva. aBStRaCt This is a qualitative study, anchored in the Theory of Social Representation and Jodelet thoughts, realized in an Intensive Care and Oncology Unit of a university hospital. The objective was to understand the social representations of nurses on religiosity while caring for dying patients. The data was collected between 2010May and August, using the technique of Content Analysis of Bardin. The religiosity representations inserted in the caring practice for dying patients, value professional's beliefs about death, its meaning allowing for the development of coping mechanisms. It is considered that the awareness will occur through the understanding of reality and introducing the theme in the discussion of the quality of health and training of professionals.
Objective:To analyze scientific production about workplace bullying and harassment in dissertations and theses in Brazil, with emphasis on the year of publication; educational institution; area of knowledge; professional and academic background of the authors; keywords used; and concept map organization. Method: Bibliometric study with a quantitative approach with a sample consisting of 57 papers, 5 theses and 52 dissertations, published between 2002 and 2012. Results: It was found that 2012 was the year with the highest number of publications in this topic area. The region that stood out was the Southeast. The institution with the highest number of publications was the Federal University of Santa Catarina. There was a predominance of dissertations and most publications were produced by researchers focused on a multidisciplinary perspective.
