Abstract This study aims to compile and obtain edmodo-based e-learning media on pythagorean material which is valid, practical, and effective for grade VIII students of SMP-TQ Muadz Bin Jabal Kendari. E-learning based mathematics learning using edmodo was chosen as an alternative media in increasing interest and learning outcomes of Pythagorean material. This e-learning development is developed with the ADDIE model, which consists of several steps, namely: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The subjects in this development research were 31 students of grade VIII SMP Mu'adz Bin Jabal Kendari in the 2019/2020 academic year. The learning media's validity test used a validation sheet, and to test the effectiveness used student response questionnaire. At the same time, the test of the learning media's effectiveness used the learning outcomes test of the Pythagorean theorem. The experts' assessment and the implementation of trials found that the mathematics learning media of the Edmodo-based Pythagorean theorem met the valid, practical, and effective criteria. Edmodo-based e-learning can be used to increase interest and facilitate interactive learning that supports the understanding of grade VIII junior high school students on the pythagorean theorem material.
This research aims to obtain a valid, practical, and effective instructional design of circle material for grade VIII of SMP-TQ Muadz Bin Jabal Kendari. Instructional design has developed based on Isman model (2011). To develop a design, learning devices and instruments were developed. The prototype were validated and the test showed by the average of validity value. The practicality was shown by the average percentage of achievement from the observation of teacher activity. The analysis result of the effectiveness of the design is measured based on the average of achievement from the observation of student activity, the average of circle reasoning ability and the average of the percentage of achievement of student responses questionnaire. Based on the finding, it can be concluded that the instructional design of circle material with Isman model for grade VIII of SMP-TQ Muadz Bin Jabal Kendari were valid, practice, and effective.
The research used is a quasi-experimental study that aims to determine whether there are differences in the effectiveness of the scientific approach and the problem-solving approach in problem-based learning in class IX students of SMP Negeri 3 Pangsid. The population in this study were all grade IX students of SMP Negeri 3 Pangsid, and the sample consisted of two classes, namely class IX.1 and class IX.2, as an experimental class. Based on data collection from learning outcomes, activities and responses of students show that the mathematics learning outcomes of students in the experimental class 1 are in the high category with a mean of 84.38, student activities in learning can be categorized well, while student responses tend to be positive towards this learning. So, it can be concluded that problem-based learning with the scientific approach is quite active. Student mathematics learning outcomes in experimental class 2 are in the high category with a mean of 79.58, student activity in learning is in right criteria, and student responses to this learning are positive. This shows that problem-based learning with a problem-solving approach is quite effective. Hypothesis testing at a significant level α = 0.05 with the t-test showed a significant difference in effectiveness, in terms of learning outcomes between students who applied problem-based learning with a scientific approach and students who applied problem-based learning with problem-solving approaches.
This study aimed to determine students' interest in learning and mathematical resilience in online learning and their impact on understanding concepts. The research used in this study is Ex-post facto, namely research with a quantitative approach that aims to test or explain the relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 Kendari class XI students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The research sample was 24 students of Class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 8 Kendari. Sampling using purposive sampling technique based on students' readiness to participate in online learning without network constraints. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and tests. Questionnaires were used to obtain information about mathematical interest and resilience. In contrast, the test is used to obtain data about the ability to understand concepts. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive analysis technique and inferential analysis, which was carried out with the help of the SPSS 22 computer program. The results showed that students' interest in online learning had a significant influence on concept understanding. Likewise, students' mathematical resilience in online learning has a significant influence on conceptual understanding. The analysis results also show a significant effect of interest and resilience together on understanding mathematical concepts. The percentage contribution of the influence of interest and resilience variables on understanding mathematical concepts is 77.8%, while other variables influence the rest.
