This study aims to examine the effect of social anxiety on social media dependence in university students. This research used the quantitative approach with a predictive correlation method. The instruments were social anxiety scale (92 items) refers to aspects of social anxiety from La Greca and Lopez, and the scale of dependence on social media (30 items) refers to Griffiths. The participants were 342 students of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung selected by random sampling. The results show that social anxiety influence dependence on social media in university students. The influence of social anxiety variables to dependence on social media is about 7.2%. Most of the participants have social anxiety and social media dependence in the medium category.
Based on the observation of the researcher, the lack of future orientation amongst students, particularly in the area of career, led by deciding on study program was not deliberately when enroll in the university. The research intended to obtain empirical data on the effect of the identity status on future orientation of the work area among students of the psychology program. The method used correlation study. The results showed that there was a significant influence of the identity status on the future orientation in working area. R square (R2) was 0.314, it meant 31.4% of the variation of the future orientation in working area influenced by the identity status. Three of the four identity statuses have a significant influence, namely the identity of achievement, the diffuse, and the moratorium. In despite there was correlation between foreclosure identity with future-orientation in working area however there was not significant effect.
The study was conducted to determine effect of ethnic identity on assertiveness of Sundanese students. The role of students who should be critical and responsive to various things, but less prominent in Sundanese students in consequence of existence of cultural rules require maintaining communication prefer to harbor personal opinions and feelings. The demands of role and acculturation occur on campus lead to high quality of ethnic identity negatively affecting assertive communication skills. The research uses correlational quantitative methods. The results showed the number of Sundanese students with a high level of ethnic identity tended to be more than the low level of ethnic identity. While the quality of assertive communication is high or low is not much different. Using the simple regression calculation method shows that ethnic identity has a positive effect on the assertiveness of Sundanese students.
