<p class="Abstract">Digital and communication technology has developed in combination with globalization to ensure quick connectivity and distribution of information. In particular, the quality of education is one of the education challenges that have become a target for urgent solutions. From the various conditions and potentials that exist, efforts that can be made concerning quality improvement in schools are to develop a student-oriented learning system (children center) and facilitate student’s needs for learning needs that are challenging, active, creative, innovative, practical, and fun by developing and apply learning based on Information and Communication Technology. This research was generated using the media development method, which refers to Four-D development, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate, carried out in high school. Vocational class XI Computer and Network Engineering. In this study, the test subjects were students of class XI Computer and Network Engineering at SMK Negeri 8 Padang. The three validator’s assessment as a whole, the validator test assessment of Android-Based Learning Media is 94.28%. The validity level can be interpreted as being Very Valid to use. Overall, the practicality assessment of Android-Based Learning Media as a learning resource is 88.46%, so that the level of practicality can be interpreted as Very Practical to use. The evaluation of Android-Based Learning Media's effectiveness of 90.86%, so that the level of significance can be interpreted as Very Good for use.<strong></strong></p>
The low absorption of the workforce in the vocational high school graduates indicates their lack of expertise and competency. It urges to improve their work skills to meet the demand of work. This research aims at developing a Lean-based learning model to enhance the work skills of vocational high school students. This research categorized as development research uses the modified Borg and Gall method. The Lean-based learning model was tested through three stages, namely its validity, effectiveness and practicality. Respondents of the research are vocational high school students, vocational high school teachers and industry practitioners in Indonesia. The model was validated by some experts and FGD results. The effectiveness of the model was tested by an experimental with a posttest only control group design. The population of the experiment was students of the Vocational High School who were doing an industrial experience in some industries, which followed a work shadowing strategy, the sample is chosen by random sampling; data were collected to develop a performance test. Two questionnaires were used to evaluate the practicability of the model according to the perceptions of the teachers and students of the Vocational High School. Based on the research, the developed learning model can be categorized as "good" in case of its validity, effectiveness, and practicality. It means that the lean-based learning model is valid, effective and practical. The conclusion of research is that lean learning model is one of the alternatives to improve work skills competency among vocational high school students to fulfill the industrial demand.
The objective of this study is to make an application design to monitor server performance that can be used to monitor and inform server performance to administrators. The implementation of this server performance monitoring application is carried out on the Integrated Administrative Service System server of the Electronics Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University. Server performance monitoring application built using the waterfall method. Making the application is also supported by the Script Shell programming language in retrieving information from the server, server information generated by the SNMP and SNORT applications and then reported to the administrator by the Sendemail and Gammu applications. The server performance monitoring application website is built using the Laravel framework, the LTE Admin template and the Canvas JS chart. This server performance monitoring application is able to monitor, recap and report server performance. Application reporting is done using e-mail and sms media, if a problem occurs on the server. So that the application of server performance monitoring applications on the server will be able to help the work of administrators to maintain the availability of a reliable Integrated Administrative Service System in the Electronics Engineering Department.
This study aims to determine the level of practicality, effectiveness, and influence of the application of learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) in the Computer Network Installation course using a mobile application called AR_JARKOM_INFORMATIKA_UNP. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with research subjects, namely students in class 2F3 and 2F4 of the Informatics Engineering Education Department of Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University who attended the Computer Network Installation lectures for the January-June 2020 semester. The results of this study indicate that AR-based learning media has a practicality level of 88.40% with a very practical category, then in the effective category based on the post-test score of the experimental class (2F3) which is 73.16 which is higher than the control class (2F4) which is 69.25 and provides 33.6% contribution to the learning outcomes of Computer Network Installation based on the r square value of 0.336. So it can be concluded that AR-based learning media has a good level of practicality, effectiveness and influence to be used in the learning process of Computer Network Installation.
This study aims at developing the augmented reality application technology, a complementary learning on graphic design to face the skills and learning of the industrial revolution 4.0. This study uses a 4D (four-D) development method for the development of augmented reality application technology and uses a survey method for validity. This AR application will be validated by 12 experts, while the respondents used in filling out the needs analysis questionnaire at the define stage (four-D) are students and lecturers of Informatics Engineering Education, Padang State University. The results of this study indicate that on the analysis of the achievement of the learning process, it can be seen that there are still expectations and advantages in the achievement of the learning process desired by lecturers and students, where the learning process is still in the sufficient category and 80%, students need development of technology as complement reality to be used as learning media in the learning process. The validation test also shows that the augmented reality application technology is included in the valid category with an average value of V value of 0.933. So, it cannot be denied that the augmented reality application technology is valid to be used in the learning process.
Early observation that was done by the researcher showed that the student learning outcome at SMK 1 Pulau Punjung is still at the low level due to the assumption that the students lack media support in learning. Using an Interactive Tutorial CD is believed to be able to reduce the dependence of the student toward the teachers. The aim of this research was to design the interactive tutorial CD in the form of multimedia based learning media which contain the theory and the basic subject of computer network. It is also equipped with examples of Video tutorial lab computer network installation. The result of this study indicates that there is an improvement in student learning outcome by using this learning media. The problem of limited teachers in school can also be alleviated.
<p class="0abstract"><strong>— </strong>Based on preliminary observations on the implementation of Graphic Design learning, it is indicated that it is only limited to using printed module media, lecture methods, guided practice and not yet using media with android technology. This study aims to: (1) Generate a practical learning media for Graphic Design based on Android Technology. (2) Producing Learning Media Graphic Design based on Effective Android Technology. This research is a Research and Development. This study uses a study design development with 4D development model that consists of four main stages, namely, Define (definition), Design (design), Develop (development), and Disseminate (deployment). Based on the practicality test, the practicality test value was 85%. Effectiveness Test of learning media for Android-based Graphic Design shows effective results , this is also shown with a significant level of 0,000 <0.05, which means that there are significant differences between Student Learning Outcomes before being given an Android-based media ( Pretest ) and learning outcomes students after being given an Android-based media ( Posttest ) in the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padangs.</p>
Information Systems serve as a tool for managing palayanan in the organization to be more accurate, effective and efficient. In MAN 1 Padang TU Head is still difficult to manage employee data because there is no database management that can store, process, and maintain the integrity of personnel data. To improve the service in MAN 1 Padang is in need Civil Service Information System-based web that is able to manage personnel services, from employee data input process, employee leave process, employee mutation process and employee retirement process are mutually integrated as a whole. This design is implemented with PHP programming language with MySQL database and CodeIgniter framework. In the system design involved Use Case diagrams, Activity diagrams, Context Diagrams, flowmap, Normalization and Entitiy Relationship Diagram. This system involves 3 users ie Employee, Admin, and Principal. The three levels of registered users have a private account to enter into the system ie username and password for the admin and principal while the employee enters by using NIP and Password with MD5 encryption. This personnel information system produces web-based applications that can help Administrative Officers in improving the effectiveness and efficiency in the implementation of personnel management activities as well as displaying actual information in the form of employee data reports, employee pension information, history of employee mutation and employee leave history.
