Palavras-chave: avaliação de alimentos, farinha de resíduos de tilápia, fonte protéica, reversão sexual, tilápia Effects of Feeding Tilapia Filleting By-product Meal for Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.) During the Sexual Reversion PhaseABSTRACT -The effects of feeling tilapia filleting by-product meal (TF) for Nile tilapia (Oreochromis Niloticus L.) during the sexual reversion phase were evaluated. Three hundred and seventy-five 2-3-d larvaes were allotted to 25 30L-aquariums, according to a complete randomized design with five treatments of five replications. Aquarium with 15 larvae comprised the experimental unit. Diets were formulated to be isonitrogenous and isoenergetic and contained 38.6% of digestible protein and 3,800 kcal of ED/kg, on increasing levels of TF (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20%). Mean temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and electrical conductivity rates of water during the experimental period were of 24.53 ± 1.60ºC; 4.81 ± 0.68 mg/L; 7.70 ± 0.25; and 175.97 ± 108.46 μS/cm respectively. At the end of the experiment, no differences were reported for final weight and length, condition factor, survival and sexual reversion index of larvae fed FT. It can be included up to 20% FT in diets for Nile tilapia during the sexual reversion phase, with no deleterious effects on performance.
It was used 3.960 fish with an average initial weight of 293.38 ± 5.67 g, distributed in 18 net-ponds with 5 m 3 , with 220 fish per experimental unit (44 fish/m 3 ) in a 3 × 2 factorial scheme composed of three levels of crude protein (25, 30 and 35%) and two levels of digestible energy (3,250 and 3,500 kcal/kg). Feeding was performed four times a day (9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.) until apparent satiety of the animals. No differences were observed for weight gain, survival rate, apparent feed conversion and specific growing rate. Nevertheless, there was a difference on visceral fat deposition which was higher for animals fed ration with higher energy level. It was not observed influence of levels of protein and energy of the diet in contents of moisture, crude protein, mineral matter and lipids in the fish fillets, either. Rations containing 25% of crude protein and 3,250 kcal/kg of digestible energy promote better performance results.
Development of larvae of Steindachneridion sp. under different conditions of refuge and luminosityAbstract -The influence of luminosity and of the use of refuges on the initial development of Steindachneridion sp. Garavello (Siluriforme: Pimelodidae) larvae was evaluated. A thousand larvae 18.02 mm high and 62.2 mg weight were used in an entirely randomized design, with five treatments and four replicates, in 35 L-aquarium during 22 days. The treatments consisted on the following environments: darkness without refuges, clear with artificial refuge, darkness with artificial refuge, clear with natural refuge and clear without refuge. All larvae received the same feeding during the experiment. The best survival rates were found for darkness without refuges, clear with artificial refuge and clear without refuge, with 84, 76 and 70%, respectively. The best development was in darkness and without refuges.
Palavras-chave: farinha de vísceras de aves, nutrição de peixes, Oreochromis niloticus, tilápia do Nilo, reversão sexual Poultry Meal By-products in Diets for Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.) in the Reversion PhaseABSTRACT -The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance, survival and effectiveness of reversion of Nile tilapia fry (Oreochromis niloticus L.) fed with rations containing growing levels of inclusion of poultry by products (FVA). Posteriormente, foram realizados cálculos dos índices hepatossomático e gonadossomático, da Protein (CP) at three levels, 25, 30 and 35%; and Digestible energy (DE) at two levels, 3,250 and 3,500 kcal, and three replications. The diet was given freely, but it was measured daily. At the beginning of the experiment, one group of fish was killed to determine the body and chemical parameters. Every 28 days, two individuals of each experimental unit were killed and measured: total and standard length, total weight, liver, gonads, head, clean torso (CT) and visceral fat weight, respectively.Subsequently, the hepatosomatic index, gonadosomatic index, head percentage, carcass and clean torso yield were calculated. The fillet yield and the sex of the individuals were also registered from June/2006 on. Analyses of humidity, crude protein, lipids and mineral matter were conducted for the chemical composition of the jundia meat. Feed with 30% CP provided fish with better clean torso yield. The muscle composition was not influenced by the tested diets. The best result was obtained using diets containing 30% CP and 3,250 kcal digestible energy/kg.
Palavras-chave: desempenho, metionina, nutrição de peixes, resíduos industriais Effects of Feeding Tilapia By-products Flour for Piauçu (Leporinus macrocephalus) FingerlingsABSTRACT -This trial was carried out to evaluate the effects of feeding Tilapia fillet by-products meal (TF) for piauçu (Leporinus macrocephalus) fingerlings.
