Myiasis is defined as a condition in which maggots are from certain fly species that utilize living, dead, or necrotic tissue from the host as a feed source for their growth and development and attack all types of vertebrate animals that are warm-blooded including humans. myiasis is often found in domestic animals in tropical regions throughout the world, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia and is generally associated with low levels of welfare of farmers. The diagnosis of myiasis is based on a clinical examination of wound bleeding, fever, a characteristic odor, the discovery of exudates and maggots in the wound. Myiasis treatment is generally local followed by manual removal of larvae and necrotic tissue debris. Systemic treatment usually uses broad-spectrum antibiotics especially when secondary infections occur. Disease prevention can be done by providing information to farmers to pay attention to and carry out livestock sanitation, pens, the surrounding environment and control flies using various methods. Livestock activities in rural areas are often less concerned with good waste management. It is noted that one adult cow can produce 15-25 kg of dung per day. With the number of cattle population reaching 14,140 heads, the cattle dung collected per day amounts to 353.5 ton. If the waste of cattle dung is not properly utilized, it can have a serious impact on people health and cause environmental pollutions. This research was aimed to understand how community activities were run in utilizing and managing the waste of cattle dung and to formulate models of community empowerment in the waste management of cattle dung. This research used a qualitative approach. The determination of informants was conducted by way of snowball sampling while the data analysis used the model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the research in the field found that the community was still not maximal in the waste utilization of cattle dung. In contrast, the community preferred to dispose of the waste instead of utilizing it into manure or organic fertilizer. The effort of making biogas reactor has not been able to help the community utilize the waste maximally. As an effort to protect the environment from the great deal amount of cattle dung, a model of Rumah Pupuk Masyarakat (RPM) -Community's Fertilizer House -was formed in order to overcome the problem of cattle dung, which has not been maximized properly in the site of the research.

Cow dung is a very serious problem for people around the farm. The problem is often caused by cow dung which is not handled professionally. Its existence pollutes the environment, disturbs the scenery, and can be a vector of disease. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the potential of cow dung waste as an environmentally friendly alternative energy source. This study used a descriptive content analysis study method. The study found that cow dung waste can be processed into biogas. The process is through fermenting the cow dung in a biogas reactor. Biogas has various benefits as an alternative energy source, namely replacing LPG gas and kerosene, power generation, water pump driving, and a substitute for gasoline fuel. The eco-friendly concept boils down to optimizing the use of natural resources while maintaining environmental sustainability. The potential for the utilization of cow dung waste can overcome public complaints about the scarcity of LPG gas and kerosene, expensive electricity bills, fuel, and cases of environmental pollution due to cow dung waste. It is recommended to provide education to the public about the utilization of cow dung to obtain optimal results.
