This study aims to identify the local wisdom in the management system of shifting cultivation in Dayak Ngaju, Central Kalimantan. The study was conducted at Mantangai Tengah Village and Mantangai Hilir Village, Mantangai District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan. Purposive sampling was used as the method to determine the location and sample of the research (70 people). The primary data used were farmers or cultivators and key informants while the secondary data were obtained from BPS and related agencies. The analysis of the data was done by using a descriptive qualitative technique. The results show that the management system of shifting cultivation conducted by local people cannot be separated from the local wisdom in the community. This is indicated by some activities which explain that phenomena such as forest clearing, land burning, land management, technology utilization, and ceremony accompanying the activities of shifting cultivation. Communities live in a harmonious relationship with forests and land, manage land in a limited area (1-2 ha) without the risk of land fires, live in communal and mutual cooperation (gotong-royong), and have local knowledge that has a positive value.JEL Classification: D19, O33, O35
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendiskripsikan alasan yang mendorong wanita tani di atas usia produktif dalam melakukan usahatani sayuran organik, menganalisis peran wanita tani di atas usia produktif dalam melakukan usahatani sayuran organik dan menganalisis curahan waktu dan pendapatan yang diperoleh wanita tani di atas usia produktif dalam usahatani sayuran organik serta kontribusinya bagi pendapatan rumah tangga. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah di Desa Sumberejo, Kecamatan Batu, Kota Batu. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunkaan pada penelitian ini yaitu snowball sampling. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 17 orang yaitu wanita tani berusia lebih dari 59 tahun yang bekerja sebagai buruh tani atau petani. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat diketahui bahwa alasan yang mempengaruhi wanita tani di atas usia produktif bekerja adalah untuk menambah penghasilan keluarga dan hanya untuk mengisi kesibukan. Hasil analisis gender dengan model Harvard dapat diketahui bahwa pada aspek aktivitas peran wanita lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan pria. Namun partisipasi wanita dalam usahatani sayuran organik tidak sebanding dengan kewenangan (kontrol) dan kesempatan (akses) yang mereka miliki karena kewenangan dan kesempatan paling besar berada di pihak pria. Sedangkan pada aspek manfaat diperoleh secara bersama-sama baik pria maupun wanita adalah manfaat pendapatan yang digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari. Curahan waktu kerja wanita baik sebagai petani maupun buruh tani lebih besar dibandingkan dengan pria. Kesimpulannya adalah pada aspek aktivitas keterlibatan wanita lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan pria.
Masyarakat adat di Indonesia sebagian besar tinggal di daerah pedesaan, sehingga pekerjaan utama mereka adalah petani. Masyarakat adat melakukan usahatani secara tradisional sesuai dengan ketentuan adat dan menggunakan teknologi sederhana dalam usahatani sehingga mereka dapat disebut petani tradisional. Salah satu masyarakat adat di Indonesia yang masih melakukan usaha tani dengan cara tradisional adalah Masyarakat Adat Samin. Lokasi petani tradisional Samin berada di Desa Klopoduwur Kecamatan Banjarejo Kabupaten Blora. Petani tradisional Samin dalam melakukan kegiatan usahatani masih sesuai dengan adat ajaran Samin. Petani tradisional Samin masih menjalankan tata cara adat dalam bidang pertanian yang diwariskan oleh leluhurnya secara turun temurun hingga sekarang. Menjadi petani merupakan pekerjaan mulia bagi mereka, sehingga mereka melakukan upacara-upacara dan ritual adat untuk bersyukur dengan pekerjaan mereka. Kearifan lokal pertanian yang masih dijalani hingga sekarang oleh petani tradisional Samin adalah tidak menjual seluruh hasil panennya, tidak menjual lahan pertanian mereka kepada orang luar masyarakat Adat Samin, melakukan upacara adat Jamasan dan upacara persembahan syukur kepada alam yaitu Kadeso.
The village women leader (Klèbun Babine') in Madura is not fully considered. They were merely a symbol and administrative officer. While the policy determinant is on the husband or family of the male party. In contrast, the case study of women Head Village chief Ponteh successfully run the village government without the influence of the husband or family from the male side. The leadership of Klèbun Babine' is not inferior to the village head led by men. The case study revealed the leadership practices, leadership styles and driving factors of Klèbun Babine ' in the village government. By doing observasion, in-depth interviews and playing documentation revealed that Klèbun Babine's leadership performed by paddling the community as a child, giving freedom to the official village to work well and to tighten on Primary community interests from personal interests. Klèbun Babine' implements the style of masculine-transformational leadership with the hallmark of totality in leading based on Divine value (transcendentalism). The driving factor of Klèbun Babine' success in the first village government are the individual ability, communication to bring out a layer of community, second, community suppor and active, third, the maximum role of village government. This study shows a new fact about Klèbun Babine ' that is not a symbol and administrative officer but it can lead the village government in rural Madura. Bahkan kepemimpinan Klèbun Babine' tidak kalah dengan kepala desa yang dipimpin oleh laki-laki. The immense development of a worldwide coffee franchise, Starbucks, affects the local community's coffee culture, particularly the middle class, which characterizes an alternative lifestyle for consumptive and dynamics individuals who love to seek leisure time and a new identity. More than just a process of domestication or creolization, a coffee-producing country such as Indonesia has an element of "soft countering to" Western coffee culture even though it still embraces some parts of the Western styles. This phenomenon is referred to as the cultural encapsulation process or substantial cultural resistance by drawing a line between the two coffee cultures to take merely compatible elements. More precisely, there has been a process of affirming the value and local coffee culture in the coffee business. Still, the proprietors selectively induce some parts of the West culture like new coffee processing and serving techniques.
