Higher Thinking Order Skills (HOTS) are important to be applied in learning, especially in practical activities in the laboratory. This study aims to produce a QR-Code-based Basic Physics practicum module with the HOTS stage. This study uses the research and development (R&D) model of Walter Dick and Lou Carrey with the limitation of stages, namely the feasibility test of the practicum module. Due to the regulation of the pandemic, the user trial phase was not carried out. The results of this study have obtained a set of practicum modules with stages of activities that support the formation of HOTS in Physics education students. HOTS is trained to cover the abilities of 1) creative thinking, 2) critical thinking, 3) observing, 4) logical thinking, 5) experimental investigation, 6) classifying data, 7) comparing relationships between variables, 8) inductive reasoning, 9) deductive reasoning, 10) systems analysis and 11) conceptualization of data. The feasibility of the material is 89.33%, the feasibility of the media is 92.92% and the feasibility of learning is 93.95%. The validation results show that the practicum module product produced is declared feasible to be used in training students’ HOTS in the Basic Physics practicum.

This study aims to develop an android-based carrom game comics integrated with discovery learning feasible to use in physics teaching. This study was developed using the 4-D: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The feasibility of the developed comics is evaluated by media experts, material experts, physics teachers, peer reviewers, and students. The data analysis used the descriptive analysis for the feasibility assessment of the comics. The result of the research shows that the developed Android-based carom game comics is feasible to be used in physics teaching, which is in a very good category based on the media experts, material experts, physics teachers, peer reviewers, and students. Android-based carrom game comics that are integrated with the discovery learning syntax can encourage students to be actively involved in learning and a very display can attract the attention of students to read and learn.

Distance learning during this pandemic makes students more often access the internet for learning purposes. The habit of copying and pasting sources from the internet without confirming the correctness of the information obtained causes misconceptions in students. In the analogy approach, there is a comparison between two concepts that can expand students’ thinking patterns. While comics contain explanations of the material outlined in the form of pictorial stories that will attract the attention of the readers. By applying an analogy approach in educational comics that is packaged in the concept of changing conceptions, it is hoped that it will direct analogical reasoning and activate deeper understanding so that it can form scientific conceptions in students. The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of educational comics by analogy in overcoming student misconceptions on simple electrical circuit material. The sample of this study was 30 students at one of the public Islamic junior high school in South Jakarta who were taken purposively. The research method used is a pre-experimental method and the design used is a one-shot case study. Students who were used as samples had identified misconceptions in the electrical circuit material using a Simple Electrical Circuit Diagnostic Test (SECDT). The results of this study found that analogy educational comics can replace students’ misconceptions with scientific truths and it was found that 63% were aware of their misconceptions, gained new knowledge and believed in the truth of scientific explanations presented in the comics.
