Developing online learning video based on the science technology society (STS) to improve biology learning outcomes

Abstract: This research aims to determine the validity of online learning video based on the Science Technology Society (STS) and its effect on biology learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Labuapi. The type of research is research and development with the ADDIE model. The research sample was class X students at SMA Negeri  1 Labuapi with as many as 12 students for the control class and 15 students for the experimental class. “…Some studies do not analyze the effectiveness of videos to improve certain competencies (Fajar et al, 2022;Muliana, 2022;Varisa & Fikri, 2022). Several others have attempted to analyze the effectiveness of video on several competencies, such as student attitudes (Shabrina & Dewi, 2020) and learning outcomes (Handayeni et al, 2021). However, development research that develops video media to improve thinking skills in biology lessons is still difficult to find.…”

“…Diagnostic instruments are important to implement because they can be used to identify learning difficulties experienced by students in science learning [18]. Diagnostic instruments, in addition to identifying learning difficulties, can also be used to measure students' ability to understand concepts [19][20]. Moreover, with the help of the lives worksheet application, diagnostic instruments are more practical, making it easier for lecturers to use instruments to measure students' ability to understand concepts.…”
