A produção de biomassa e grãos de aveia depende diretamente das formas de fornecimento de nitrogênio (N). Propôs-se, com este estudo, determinar a eficiência de aproveitamento de N-fertilizante na elaboração de biomassa e grãos de aveia em distintos sistemas de cultivo e estimar a máxima eficiência técnica e econômica de produtividade de grãos na identificação de cultivares mais eficientes no uso do N. O estudo foi conduzido nos anos de 2011 e 2012, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 2 para Doses de Nitrogênio (0, 30, 60 e 120 kg ha-1) e Cultivares de Aveia (Barbarasul e Brisasul) no sistema soja/aveia e milho/aveia. Há tendência de crescimento na taxa de biomassa em aveia com o incremento das doses de N-fertilizante em ambos os sistemas de cultivo, condição nem sempre acompanhada da maior produtividade de grãos. A cultivar Brisasul mostra maior eficiência no aproveitamento do N à elaboração de biomassa e grãos, independente do sistema de cultivo. A definição da dose ajustada em aveia permite resultados mais vantajosos pela análise da máxima eficiência econômica de produtividade de grãos.

The use of productive cultivars with adaptability and stability and less demanding to fungicide use are critical to the sustainability of production factors. The objective of this work was to determine the per se performance of white oat cultivars and parameters of adaptability and stability on yield and grain quality in the proposition of cultivars more responsive in reducing the use fungicide. The study was conducted in Augusto Pestana, RS, Brazil, between the years 2010 and 2013. The experimental design was randomized blocks with six replicates, three with and three without fungicide. The study evaluated 14 white oat cultivars for yield and industrial capability. The white oat cultivars FAEM 4 Carlasul and URS Corona indicate high grain yield with stability and general adaptability, independent of chemical control. The cultivar URS Corona shows together high yield and thousand grain weight and hectoliter with general adaptability and stability in the absence of fungicide. Although no stability has been detected in industrial yield without the use of fungicides, cultivars of URS Charrua, URS Corona and URS Taura show high means with general adaptability.

The sowing density management in the main oat biotype cultivated in Brazil can bring yield gains with reduced lodging. The aim of this study was to sow the density adjustment of early cycle oat cultivars and reduced stature to increase biomass and grain yield with reduced lodging, considering high and low N-residual release succession systems in different years. The study was carried out in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in randomized blocks experimental design with four replications in factorial scheme 4 × 2, for sowing density (100, 300, 600 and 900 seeds m -2 ) and oat cultivars (Brisasul and URS Taura) in the corn/oat and soybean/oat succession systems. In each succession system two experiments were conducted, one to quantify the biomass production rate, and the other, aimed at estimating the grain yield and lodging. Regardless of year and cultivar, the main oat biotype grown in Southern Brazil evidences optimal sowing density around 500 seeds m -2 in the biomass and grain expression yield in the corn/oat and soybean/oat succession systems. In the soybean/oat succession system, the use of optimal density can favor the plant lodging, especially in favorable cultivation years. The corn/oat succession system through lower release of N-residual proves to be efficient concerning the grain yield expression and reduced lodging in the use of adjusted density.
