Comentários sobre avaliação, pressão por publiCação, produtivismo aCadêmiCo e étiCa CientífiCa O s temAs dA pRessão poR pRodutividAde ou publicAção (expRessA inteRnAcionAlmente por aforismos como publish or perish e pressure to publish), do produtivismo e da ética em pesquisa/publicação têm sido destacados na literatura acadêmica nos últimos anos. Vários autores têm se posicionado acerca das causas e das consequências da importância que a publicação, especialmente de artigos em periódicos científicos, possui atualmente.Recentemente, o periódico Cadernos de Pesquisa focalizou tais temas, publicando textos que versam sobre aspectos do amplo debate desenvolvido em torno deles. Um dos textos, de autoria de Moysés Kuhlmann Jr., seu editor responsável, chamou-nos a atenção, haja vista os argumentos adotados para ir de encontro à ideia de que o fenômeno denominado de produtivismo e a baixa qualidade de alguns artigos estão, em parte, relacionados à pressão por publicação decorrente do modelo cientométrico/bibliométrico em vigor ao redor no mundo, o que, no caso brasileiro, é claramente expresso pelo modelo de avaliação da pós--graduação stricto sensu utilizado pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Ensino Superior -Capes.Em síntese, o objetivo do autor é problematizar a noção de produtivismo e a relação causal entre pressão por publicação e a baixa qualidade dos artigos. Sua tese é que o problema da baixa qualidade está, no mais das vezes, diretamente relacionado com o próprio processo da produção científica.
