Objective: To evaluate the safety climate and contributing factors, from the perspective of nursing staff from hospitals in Southern Brazil. Methods: Cross-sectional studies conducted with 648 professionals, from three hospitals located in the northwestern part of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The Safety Attitudes Questionnaire was used for data collection. Data analysis was based on descriptive (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Cronbach's alpha, mean, standard deviation) and analytical (Kruskal-Wallis and Manny Witney) statistics. Results: Sixty-eight nursing professionals participated in the study, of whom 66.5% worked in philanthropic hospitals and 43.5% in private hospitals. A positive mean was identified in the areas of job satisfaction, teamwork climate and working conditions, with a statistical difference in working conditions between a philanthropic hospital and a public hospital. A better evaluation among nurses was identified in those who had worked less than five years, and in pediatrics. Conclusion: Regarding the perception of the safety climate when compared to the professional categories, nurses demonstrated higher scores than nursing assistants/technicians, with a statistical difference in the domains of work climate, stress perception, and unit management. Positive scores for teamwork climate and job satisfaction was evidenced by nursing staff. ResumoObjetivo: Mensurar o clima de segurança e os fatores contribuintes na perspectiva de trabalhadores de enfermagem de instituições hospitalares do Sul do Brasil. Métodos: Estudo transversal, com 648 profissionais de três hospitais do noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Para coleta dos dados, utilizou-se o Questionário de Atitudes de Segurança. A análise dos dados se deu por estatísticas descritivas (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Alfa de Cronbach, média, desvio padrão), e analíticas (Kruskal-Wallis e Manny Witney). Resultados: Participaram do estudo 648 profissionais de enfermagem, destes 66,5% trabalham em hospitais filantrópicos e 43,5% em hospital privado. Identificou-se média positiva nos domínios satisfação de trabalho, clima de trabalho em equipe e condições de trabalho, com diferença estatística nas condições de trabalho entre hospital filantrópico e público. Verificou-se melhor avaliação entre os profissionais enfermeiros, que atuam a tempo inferior a cinco anos e na pediatria. Conclusão: A respeito da percepção do clima de segurança quando comparado às categorias profissionais, os enfermeiros demonstram escores maiores do que auxiliares/técnicos de enfermagem, com diferença estatística nos domínios clima de trabalho, percepção de stress e gerência da unidade. Na perspectiva dos trabalhadores de enfermagem evidenciou-se escores positivos para clima de trabalho em equipe e satisfação do trabalho.

Objective:to construct and validate a tool to assess the use of light technologies by the nursing team at Intensive Care Units. Method:methodological study in which the tool was elaborated by means of the psychometric method for construction based on the categorization of health technologies by Merhy and Franco, from the National Humanization Policy, using the Nursing Intervention Classification taxonomy to categorize the domains of the tool. Agreement Percentages and Content Validity Indices were used for the purpose of validation. Results:The result of the application of the Interrater Agreement Percentage exceeded the recommended level of 80%, highlighting the relevance for the proposed theme in the assessment, with an agreement rate of 99%. Conclusion:the tool was validated with four domains (Bond, Autonomy, Welcoming and Management) and nineteen items that assess the use of light technologies at Intensive Care Units.

RESUMO: Objetivo: Apontar os fatores que interferem no gerenciamento do cuidado de enfermagem aos pacientes oncológicos internados em um hospital geral localizado ao sul do país. Método: Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa que utilizou a Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados, com a abordagem Straussiana para a análise dos dados. Foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com 14 participantes: seis enfermeiros, cinco técnicos de enfermagem, um nutricionista, uma psicóloga e um familiar, no período de agosto a outubro de 2010. Resultados: Como fatores intervenientes foram identificados o gerenciamento da unidade realizado pelo enfermeiro, a dor oncológica, a necessidade de capacitações, o vínculo com a família, o relacionamento interpessoal na equipe, a não-especificidade da clínica e o processo de morte. Considerações Finais: Os profissionais do hospital generalista apresentam dificuldade em ofertar uma assistência direcionada e adequada à complexidade do paciente oncológico, reiterando a importância do suporte da educação continuada, interdisciplinaridade e satisfação no trabalho. Descritores: Enfermagem; Enfermagem oncológica; Oncologia; Gerenciamento clínico ABSTRACT: Aim: To present the factors that affect the management of nursing care to cancer patients in a general hospital located in Southern Brazil. Method: This is a qualitative study that used the Grounded Theory, with Strauss approach for data analysis. Fourteen participants have been interviewed through semi-structured interviews: six registered nurses, five nursing techinicians, one nutritionist, one psychologist and one person of patient's Family, from August to October 2010. Results: As intervening factors, it was identified: management unit performed by nurses, cancer pain, the need for training, bonding with family, interpersonal relationships on the team, the non-specificity of the clinic, and the process of death. Conclusion: The general hospital professionals have difficulty in offering a specific and appropriate care to the cancer patient, reaffirming the importance of the support of continuing education, interdisciplinarity and job satisfaction.
