Objetivo: Avaliar a percepção dos profissionais de enfermagem atuantes em um hospital privado acerca do clima de segurança. Métodos: Estudo transversal. Realizado com 215 profissionais de enfermagem de um hospital, localizado na região noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brasil, no período de maio a julho de 2014. Para coleta de dados utilizou-se o Safety Attitudes Questionnaire e análise com estatística descritiva. Resultados: Prevaleceram as profissionais do sexo feminino (92,6%), auxiliares/técnicos de enfermagem (84,7%), atuação principal em pediatria e adulto (47,4%), com experiência na especialidade superior a 3 anos (64,6%). Os escores satisfatórios encontrados por domínios foram: clima de trabalho em equipe (76), satisfação no trabalho (88) e condições de trabalho (91). Conclusão: O estudo evidenciou uma distância entre a gerência de enfermagem da unidade e do hospital com os trabalhadores que atuavam in loco, necessitando de um olhar ampliado tanto na unidade quanto no hospital.

Objective: To assess the patient safety culture among the workers of a hospital institution in southern Brazil. Method: This is a cross-sectional study, which was performed with 630 hospital workers, at Santa Rosa, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, through the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire tool, in the month of April 2017. Results: We found positive scores in all the safety culture domains, except for the perceived stress domain. Conclusion: Job satisfaction and teamwork spirit showed better scores for nursing and health professionals, when compared to the support team. Schooling, gender, operation time and the choice of workplace positively influenced the safe atmosphere.

Resumo Objetivo Verificar a associação da fragilidade de idosos com as características sociodemográficas. Métodos Estudo transversal de base populacional, com 555 idosos adscritos as Estratégias Saúde da Família da área urbana de um município do noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul/ Brasil. Os dados foram coletados de abril a dezembro de 2015, por entrevista com caracterização sociodemográficas e avaliação da fragilidade conforme critérios de Fried: perda de peso não intencional no último ano, força de preensão; velocidade da marcha, nível de atividade física e fadiga autorreferida. Utilizou-se estatística descritiva e analítica. Resultados Evidenciou-se que nos idosos mais velhos e do sexo feminino a prevalência de fragilidade é maior. Observou-se associação entre estado civil e moradia quando analisado em relação ao sexo; também, quando observado os componentes da fragilidade a fadiga mostrou associação com o sexo. Na análise bivariada e multivariada, relacionando fragilidade com as variáveis sociodemográficas constata-se que a idade influencia na fragilização. Ainda, destaca-se que a prevalência de fragilidade na população do presente estudo está acima de trabalhos de referencia nacional. Conclusão Resultados apontam para questões relativas ao cuidado, apoio e suporte ao idoso por seus familiares, tão necessários com o avanço da velhice. Não obstante da importância de que isso seja incorporado na rotina das equipes de saúde para todos os idosos adstritos a área de cobertura de Estratégia de Saúde da Família com base em nossos resultados idosos mais velhos, do sexo feminino, e que residem sozinhos devem ser priorizados na atenção básica.

Objective: To evaluate the safety climate and contributing factors, from the perspective of nursing staff from hospitals in Southern Brazil. Methods: Cross-sectional studies conducted with 648 professionals, from three hospitals located in the northwestern part of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The Safety Attitudes Questionnaire was used for data collection. Data analysis was based on descriptive (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Cronbach's alpha, mean, standard deviation) and analytical (Kruskal-Wallis and Manny Witney) statistics. Results: Sixty-eight nursing professionals participated in the study, of whom 66.5% worked in philanthropic hospitals and 43.5% in private hospitals. A positive mean was identified in the areas of job satisfaction, teamwork climate and working conditions, with a statistical difference in working conditions between a philanthropic hospital and a public hospital. A better evaluation among nurses was identified in those who had worked less than five years, and in pediatrics. Conclusion: Regarding the perception of the safety climate when compared to the professional categories, nurses demonstrated higher scores than nursing assistants/technicians, with a statistical difference in the domains of work climate, stress perception, and unit management. Positive scores for teamwork climate and job satisfaction was evidenced by nursing staff. ResumoObjetivo: Mensurar o clima de segurança e os fatores contribuintes na perspectiva de trabalhadores de enfermagem de instituições hospitalares do Sul do Brasil. Métodos: Estudo transversal, com 648 profissionais de três hospitais do noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Para coleta dos dados, utilizou-se o Questionário de Atitudes de Segurança. A análise dos dados se deu por estatísticas descritivas (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Alfa de Cronbach, média, desvio padrão), e analíticas (Kruskal-Wallis e Manny Witney). Resultados: Participaram do estudo 648 profissionais de enfermagem, destes 66,5% trabalham em hospitais filantrópicos e 43,5% em hospital privado. Identificou-se média positiva nos domínios satisfação de trabalho, clima de trabalho em equipe e condições de trabalho, com diferença estatística nas condições de trabalho entre hospital filantrópico e público. Verificou-se melhor avaliação entre os profissionais enfermeiros, que atuam a tempo inferior a cinco anos e na pediatria. Conclusão: A respeito da percepção do clima de segurança quando comparado às categorias profissionais, os enfermeiros demonstram escores maiores do que auxiliares/técnicos de enfermagem, com diferença estatística nos domínios clima de trabalho, percepção de stress e gerência da unidade. Na perspectiva dos trabalhadores de enfermagem evidenciou-se escores positivos para clima de trabalho em equipe e satisfação do trabalho.

Objective: To understand the contributing factors for the consolidation of the patient safety culture, from a management perspective, in an accredited hospital. Method: A qualitative study developed in a hospital institution of size IV, accredited by the National Accreditation Organization as level II, located in the northwest region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. The inclusion criteria were the following: having been in the leadership position of the institution for over a year and actively participating in the accreditation process. Leaders on vacation or absent due to illness in August 2018 were excluded. The collection was performed using the Focus Group technique in August 2018. Data were explored by thematic analysis. Results: The group reported teamwork, professional appreciation, management support, implementation of protocols, professional satisfaction, and working conditions as factors that contributed to the consolidation of the safety culture. Conclusions and implications for practice: The identified factors allowed for a cultural change in the institution through participatory management in processes and results that encourage workers to assume significant roles in advancing patient safety by assimilating and taking responsibility for change, which plays a crucial role in developing safe care.

This study aimed to measure the safety culture of the patient from the perspective of the multiprofessional team, working in a hospital. This was a cross-sectional quantitative study carried out at a hospital institution. The data collection was performed in October 2017, and the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire was used. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and analytical statistics. The prevalence of the female gender, an age range between 31 and 40 years, and full secondary schooling were identified. Among the domains, satisfaction with work was the only one that presented a positive mean (88.18±14.63). When comparing the nursing and support team groups there was a significant difference in the domains of job satisfaction, perception of stress, unit and hospital management. In addition, it was identified that work characteristics such as overtime, place of work and time in the institution are also variables that interfered with the evaluation of the SAQ. The safety culture was assessed as negative by the institution's professionals. This place requires an urgent intervention, a multiprofessional work, to recognize the need for changes in organizational culture, with the implementation of actions and strategies that benefit the quality of care as a whole, in favor of patient, professional and the Hospital Institutional safety.
