Results:The research groups have increased from 251 in 2006 to 617 in 2016, with important increase of the number of participants, among students and researchers. There was a decrease of the number of groups without students. However, 22% remain without undergraduate students' participation. Conclusions:It has been observed an important increase regarding the interest on research activities, when comparing both scenarios. The nursing research groups reflect structural and political advances in generation of science, technology and innovation, however, the undergraduate students' and the foreign researchers' participation should still be encouraged.

Objective Comparing the working environment of nurse managers and nursing assistants in the hospital context. Method A mixed methods research with concomitant triangulation of data developed in a university hospital in the South of Brazil. Participants in the quantitative study were 94 nursing assistants and 12 nurse managers. The data were collected using the Brazilian Nursing Work Index - Revised (B-NWI-R) and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. Eight (8) nurse managers and 18 nursing assistants were interviewed for the qualitative study. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis. Results The total B-NWI-R mean score for nurse managers was 2.15±0.39, and for nursing assistants it was 2.22±0.39. No statistical significance was identified in the comparison between the groups (p=0.508). The qualitative results show the existence of collaborative relationships between nurse managers and nursing assistants. Conclusion The working environment was similarly evaluated by nurse managers and nursing assistants in the hospital context.
Objective: to analyze the use of Grounded Theory as a methodological framework in scientific articles published in Brazilian Nursing journals with Qualis Capes A1 and A2. Method: descriptive, documentary study with a quantitative approach. Five Brazilian nursing journals with Qualis A1 and A2 in the 2016 assessment were used as sources. Data were collected on the website of each journal through the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), by consulting the numbers published in the 2013-2016 quadrennium. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: 49 articles were selected, most of them published by the Texto & Contexto Enfermagem journal (34.6%). Regarding the methodological aspect, the use of the Straussian perspective predominated (79,6). Regarding the methodological characteristics, most articles used theoretical sampling (63.3%), theoretical saturation (53.1%), comparative analysis (69.4%), and presented the development of a theoretical model or central category in the results (75.6%). However, only seven (14.3%) studies specified the use of memos, 22 (44.9%) mentioned the use of diagrams and 16 (32.7%) described the theory validation step. Conclusion: the need for consensus among Brazilian nursing researchers on the methodological characteristics to be described in studies using the Grounded Theory is highlighted.
Background: Cancer incidence rates have been increasing, and today cancer is the second most fatal non-communicable disease in the world. Objectives: To understand the meaning of the management of nursing care delivery to cancer inpatients in a general hospital. Methodology: This qualitative research used the Grounded Theory methodology. Semi-structured interviews were performed with 14 participants (6 nurses, 5 nursing technicians, 1 nutritionist, 1 psychologist, and 1 patient's relative) between August and October 2010. Results: After analysis, 13 categories emerged. The core category was Understanding how professionals excel themselves and how important is interdisciplinarity when comparing the management of humanistic and humanitarian nursing care recommended for cancer patients with the health professionals and family members' experiences in an inpatient unit of a general hospital. Conclusion: The management of nursing care delivery to cancer patients is considered to be strategic to patient-centered care. Both patients and family perceive nursing as their main source of support. Multidisciplinary care and ongoing training are identified as promoters of cancer patient care.
