Penggunaan bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran IPA sangat penting karena dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dalam peningkatan hasil belajar siswa Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh penggunaan bahan ajar digital interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan model discovery learning terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII MTsN 3 Ponorogo. Penelitian quasi-eksperimen ini menggunakan posttest-only group design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan bahan ajar digital interaktif dengan model discovery learning terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, penggunaan bahan ajar digital interaktif dengan model discovery learning bisa digunakan oleh guru untuk mengakomodasi kemampuan kognitif siswa sehingga prestasi belajar siswa dapat meningkat.
This study explores the views of Indonesian junior high school pre-service science teachers (PSTs) towards teaching based on socio-scientific issues (SSIs). Questionnaires were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The PSTs (N=62) acknowledged that student competencies ranging from personal to socially relevant skills as well as character formation can potentially be developed through SSI-based instruction. The PSTs mentioned several challenges which may hinder implementation of SSI-based instruction. These include the interdisciplinary and controversial nature of SSIs, a lack of familiarity regarding SSIs, the lack of necessary student skills, insufficient teacher expertise, and curriculum constraints. The PSTs viewed SSIs as able to potentially enhance their personal competencies through SSI-based instruction, mostly with regard to pedagogical skills. The relevance of SSI-based instruction was, however, not seen in as positive a light as the participants' views on the need of character building. The PSTs' intentions to later implementing SSI-based instruction ranged from medium to high.
The aim of this study is to produce a higher-order thinking skills assessment instrument on the material of the hearing and sonar system for Junior high school students that are valid and reliable. Indicators of higher-order thinking skills (IKBTT) are developed based on the cognitive dimension of Bloom's Taxonomy which includes the skills to analyze (C4), evaluate (C5) and create (C6). The assessment instrument developed was a multiple choice test with open reasons. Multiple choice test with open reason is a multiple choice question with four answer choices completed with the reason for choosing an answer. The instrument is equipped with an assessment rubric in the form of a holistic rubric to assess the relationship between multiple choice answers and reasons for choosing answers. The results of the validation of material aspects, construction, and language show that the products developed are very feasible with an average score of 85.7%. The instrument was empirically tested with the number of subjects trying as many as 59 students of 8th grade Junior high school. Based on the results of empirical trials of multiple choice questions with open reasons obtained 25 valid questions with multiple choice reliability of 0.745, and reason reliability of 0.929. The number of questions produced based on C4 cognitive dimensions were 12 questions (48%), C5 cognitive dimensions were 9 questions (36%), and C6 cognitive dimensions were 4 questions (16%). This study produced an instrument for assessing higher-order thinking skills in the material of the hearing and sonar system for Junior high school students that were valid and reliable.
Tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran IPA dapat diketahui dengan melakukan penilaian yang merupakan salah satu prinsip pengembangan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengintegrasian penilaian formatif dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis pendekatan saintifik terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 3 Trenggalek kelas VIII tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy-experimental dengan desain penelitian posttest control group design. Hasil analisis data uji-t two tailed dengan =0,05, nilai p < 0,05, yang menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep yang signifikan pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa pengintegrasian penilaian formatif formal dan informal dalam pembelajaran IPA berbasis pendekatan saintifik memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik.
