Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu employee is one of the jobs at risk for obesity. Besides, the support of economic capacity is also one of the factors of higher intake of food than the calories removed from physical activity. The study aim was to investigate the relationship between intake of energy and fat, physical activity to body mass index among Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu employees. The cross-sectional study design was conducted on 65 employees consists of 22 men and 43 women aged 23-59 years in Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu located in the city of Bengkulu. Energy and fat intakes were assessed using 2 x 24 hours of Food Recall. Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated by calculating body weight to height (kg/m2). Physical activity was measured using the physical activity questionnaire from FAO for one day. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation to determine the relationship between energy & fat intake, physical activity, and body mass index. 61,5% of the employee was classified as non-obese. The average energy intake, fat intake, and physical activity was 1425.52 Kcal, 48.09 gram, and 1.78 PAR respectively. The result showed p-value for energy, fat and physical activities were 0,366; 0,638; 0,189, respectively, which means there is no relationship between energy intake, fat intake and physical activity to body mass index. There was no correlation between the intake of energy and fat and physical activity to Body Mass Index. This no relationship occurred because intakes and physical activity are assessed now as well, but BMI is the result of years. This is the limitation of this study.
Metabolic syndrome is generally defined as meeting 3 (three) of 5 (five) criteria including abdominal obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, low HDL (high density lipoprotein) cholesterol, hypertension and hyperglycemia. About 20-25% of the world's adult population has the metabolic syndrome. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the android application on knowledge of dietary prescriptions in the community at risk for metabolic syndrome. The research design is a quasi-experimental study (quasi-experimental study), with a non-randomized control group pre-test - post-test test design that aims to determine the possibility of a causal relationship by intervening or giving treatment to one or more experimental groups, then the results (effect) of intervention was compared with a group that was subjected to different treatments (control group). Characteristics of age (p=0.172), gender (p=0.25) and education (p=0.055). Knowledge before intervention p=0,306 and after intervention p=0,009 in both groups. Knowledge before and after intervention in the case group p=0.0005 and knowledge before and after intervention in the control group p=0.0005. The types of outputs produced in this study are application systems for early detection of metabolic syndrome disease and dietary prescriptions, intellectual property rights and research journal articles. Introducing this android application so that it can be better known to the public in general and developing this android application so that it becomes more interesting and easy to understand.
Adolescence is a time of physical and psychological growth as people transition to adulthood, and proper nutrition is essential for this process. Anemia, a condition characterized by a lack of red blood cells or hemoglobin, is the most common health issue among young women. In 2018, the prevalence of anemia was higher in women (27.2%) than in men (20.3%), and particularly high (32%) in the 15-24 age group. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of anemia among teenage women in a rural area . The study used a cross-sectional design and included 112 middle school female students in Rejang Lebong Regency. The data was collected using survey questionnaire and a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire to assess factors such as knowledge, the intake of calorie, protein, vitamin C, and iron. Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the relations between these variables and anemia status. The correlation analysis showed that knowledge, calorie intake, and vitamin C were not significantly correlated with anemia (p values 0.378, 0.563 and 0.087, respectively). However, there was a significant correlation between iron and protein intake with the occurrence of anemia (p values 0.000 and 0.030).
