For many years, bilingual program continues to receive criticism. Many experts believed that it could affect intellectual development. A number of opinions on bilingualism are often based on myths and misinterpretations, but less on scientific findings. There are numbers of myths about bilingualism and in particular about teaching children a second language early such as, language learning delay, split personality, cerebral confusion or mixing language that affects confusion. In spite of receiving criticism, there are many advantages that support bilingualism. This article is going to discuss about the definition of bilingualism, benefits of bilingualism in early childhood; cognitive advantages, social-emotional advantages, and career advantages. Furthermore, this article highlights about the phenomenon of teaching English to young learners in Indonesia in relation to benefits of being bilingual. Since English has gained the status of international lingua franca, therefore teaching English as a foreign language (afterward EFL) has become one of the major issues both to governments and individuals. Introducing English to young learner meets the benefits of bilingualism in early childhood.
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi olehadanya kekhasan pada kurikulum yaitu program Al-islam, yang menarik peneliti untuk menganalisis kurikulum Al-islam di Taman Kanak-kanak Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis kurikulum pendidikan yang terkait dengan tujuan, strategi pelaksanaan dan teknik evaluasinya. Jenis penelitian kualitatif metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menelaah hasil observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan objek penelitian. Analisis dilakukan dengan teknik trianggulasi data. Hasil dari penelitian, kurikulumnya bertujuan mengembangkan keimanan dan ketaqwaan kepada Allah SWT, menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan kesadaran anak-anak untuk mengamalkan ajaran islam. Materi kurikulum yaitu aqidah, ibadah, akhlaq, muamalah, Al-Quran dan doa-doa. Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru menggunakan beragam metode, khusus untuk pengembangan nilai-nilai islami dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan pembiasaan yang dilakukan setiap hari. Dan adanya materi tentang ke Aisyiyahan di kegiatan awal setiap harinya.Teknik evaluasi pendidikan islam menggunakan unjuk kerja, penugasan, dan observasi (penilaian kegiatan khusus al-islam).
Abstract-This study aims to find out how big the effectiveness of traditional games on the Development of Social Capabilities of Children in Baiturridha Kindergarten Padang Pariaman. Research type is Quantitative research with experiment method. The sample of this study was determined based on Cluster Sampling. Instrument research using instrument grille. Instrument analysis by performing test validity and test reliability. Technique of collecting data by doing observation and test. Technique of data analysis using normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The result of this research shows that t count > t table, that is 9,037> 2,073, it can be concluded that the development of social ability of children in experimental class using traditional game is more effective than control class using modern game.
Abstract-This research aimed to find out whether there were differences in the climates of kindergartens in Padang. Specifically, this research would see whether there were differences in perceptions among the kindergartens' climate experienced (the actual climate) and the climate of the kindergartens that were desired by teachers (preferred climate). The research samples were 50 kindergartens' teachers representing 305 kindergartens in Padang. To obtain the data, this research used the school climate measurement tool adapted from the School Level Environment Scale (SLEQ) which was originally developed by Fisher. The results generally indicated that no significant differences between the actual climate (3.07) and preferred climate (3.25) by the teachers. However, on the scale of participation in decision making (2.80 : 3.49), and physical comfort (2.86:3.53), the differences were higher compared to other scales. It was hoped that the principal of kindergartens in the city of Padang would minimize the differences by more involving kindergarten teachers in the decision-making processes and increasing the convenience and more adequate of managing infrastructure of kindergarten.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak melalui permainan bengkel kata. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek penelitian kelas B taman kanak – kanak Smart Kids Padang Panjang sebanyak 15 anak, 7 orang laki – laki dan 8 orang anak perempuan pada semester II Thaun ajaran 2018-2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua siklus dan pada tiap siklus terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan. Pada siklus I pertemuan ketiga perkembangan kemampuan membaca anak mendapatakan nilai rata – rata sebesar 49% setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada siklus II pertemuan ketiga kemampuan anak meningkat dengan nilai rata – rata 85% yang mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum. Disimpulkan permainan bengkel kata dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak.
