There are many factors which affect the level of self-directed learning readiness. This study aims to investigate the relationship between external factors, internal factors and self-directed learning readiness. This study was carried out by using a census method for fourth year students of medical program of Tadulako University. Data were analyzed quantitatively using analysis tool of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. Latent variables in this study consist of internal factors, external factors and self-directed learning readiness. The results of this study showed that as much as 24% of the variation in internal factors and 55.8% of the variation in self-directed learning readiness is could be explained by variations in the model. The external factors affected significantly on internal factors and self-directed learning readiness. The external factors have a direct positive affect to internal factors, while the external factors have indirect effect on self-directed learning readiness through internal factors mediation variable.
<p>Kebakaran lahan gambut di Kalimantan Barat khususnya di Kabupaten Mempawah sering terjadi di setiap musim kemarau. Berbagai upaya pencegahan telah dilakukan pemerintah. Tercapainya pencegahan tersebut tidak terlepas dari partisipasi masyarakat di sekitarnya. Pentingnya partisipasi masyarakat tersebut karena sebagai pelaksana berbagai kegiatan yang diupayakan oleh pemerintah. Penelitian ini menganalisis:1) tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam pencegahan kebakaran lahan gambut, 2) hubungan faktor internal terhadap partisipasi, dan 3) hubungan faktor eksternal terhadap partisipasi. Penelitian lapang dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga Mei 2015 di Kabupaten Mempawah. Populasi penelitian adalah 95 anggota masyarakat yang memiliki lahan pernah terbakar dan memiliki lahan berada di sekitar lahan yang pernah terbakar. Pengumpulan data secara sensus terhadap 95 masyarakat tersebut. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah secara statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial (Rank Spearman). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat dalam pencegahan kebakaran lahan sangat rendah. Hasil analisis rank spearman menunjukkan faktor yang berhubungan terhadap partisipasi adalah faktor eksternal, terdiri dari peran penyuluh dan dukungan lingkungan sosial (dukungan tokoh masyarakat, peran kelompok, media informasi dan peran pemerintah). Faktor internal yang berhubungan adalah tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan. Partisipasi masyarakat agar meningkat diperlukan peran penyuluh yang merata dan peran aktif pemerintah untuk membina dan melatih sasaran yang tepat.<br />Kata kunci: lahan gambut, masyarakat, partisipasi, pencegahan kebakaran lahan</p>
AbstrakPenelitian ini menawarkan pendekatan yang efektif dalam penetapan kebutuhan pelatihan guru dengan menggunakan metode Training Needs Assessment (TNA). Tujuannya memetakan kompetensi pedagogik aktual guru IPA SMP, menetapkan kebutuhan dan prioritas pelatihan, serta rekomendasi metode pelatihan efektif. Survei, wawancara, dan FGD dilakukan untuk memperoleh data primer yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Metode TNA dilakukan secara lengkap melalui analisis organisasi, tugas, dan individu. Analisis individu dilakukan terhadap 165 guru IPA SMP Negeri Kota Pekanbaru menggunakan kuesioner dengan teknik evaluasi diri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kompetensi pedagogik aktual guru IPA SMP berada di bawah standar kompetensi ideal. Lima prioritas program pelatihan adalah pelatihan TIK/ICT, penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), teori dan prinsip pembelajaran IPA terpadu, pengembangan kurikulum IPA terpadu, dan penguasaan karakteristik peserta didik. In House Training (IHT), pelatihan khusus, dan kursus singkat direkomendasikan sebagai metode pelatihan yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru IPA SMP. AbstractThis study offers an effective approach in determining the needs of training of the teachers using the Training Needs Analysis (TNA). The objectives of the study were to obtain evidence an actual pedagogic competence of the natural sciences teachers, to obtain needs and training priorities, and proposing recommendations on the effectiveness of training method. Surveys, interviews, and FGD were conducted to get primary data. Survey was carried on 165 natural science teachers of SMP Negeri Pekanbaru using self-evaluation questionnaire. Results showed that actual pedagogic competence of the teachers was below the ideal competence. There were five priorities of training program, namely: training of ICT, classroom action research, theory and principles of learning on integrated natural science, curriculum development, and understanding of pupils' characteristics. It is suggested that In House Training, specific training, and short courses are worth applied as effective training methods to improve pedagogical competence of the teachers.
The rapid development of communication technology requires agricultural extension workers to be able to use social media in disseminating agricultural information. This study aims to describe the use of social media, analyze the factors associated with the level of social media utilization and analyze the management of agricultural information and its relationship with the use of social media. The study used the observation method to select respondents through the census.The level of social media utilization by respondents was measured by the frequency and duration in using Facebook, WhatsApp, Youtube and Instagram . The frequency of using social media is relatively high for Facebook and WhatsApp. The overall duration of accessing social media is relatively low. Factors that are significantly related to the utilization level of social media are the characteristics of extension workers (level of education and the availability of communication technology tools), perception of extension workers (ease of acces to information), information needs of extension workers (climate and capital) and motivation of extension workers (increasing knowledge and insight). Almost all extension workers manage information obtained from social media to be distributed to farmers.
The Government of Indonesia launches an Accelerated Food Consumption Diversification (P2KP) Program. This program aims to encourage people to enhance more nutritious, balanced, safe food consumption patterns. Objectives of the research are: (1) to identify community's perception toward food diversification; (2) to analyze effects of individual characteristics on community's perception toward food diversification and the level of household food diversification level; (3) to analyze the extension role on community's perception toward food diversification and household food diversification level. This research uses a census method. Data collection was carried out from February to June 2013. The results showed that: (1) perceptions of participating and non-participating communities toward P2KP are relatively high; (2) the individual respondent's characteristics affecting perception on food diversification are age, formal education, and TV and newspaper exposures, while the individual community's characteristics affecting are age, formal education, and income; (3) roles of extension workers affecting the community's perception of food diversification are the role as a communicator and a motivator, and there is no role of extension worker variables.
ABSTRAKPartisipasi ibu rumah tangga di bank sampah dapat menyelesaikan masalah sampah yang semakin meningkat. Hanya saja, partisipasi tersebut terkadang tidak berkelanjutan sehingga sampah masih menjadi masalah di berbagai daerah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tingkat partisipasi ibu rumah tangga dalam pengelolaan sampah melalui bank sampah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lima kelompok bank sampah di Desa Ragajaya, Bojonggede Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 73 orang yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus slovin dari 266 populasi. Data sampel dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial (rank Spearman). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usia responden masuk dalam kategori produktif dengan variasi antara 28 hingga 61 tahun. Tingkat pendidikan formal dalam kategori menengah antara SMP hingga SMA. Tingkat pengetahuannya sedang cenderung tinggi sehingga tidak ada responden yang berpengetahuan rendah. Ibu rumah tangga berpartisipasi dalam pengelolaan sampah melalui bank sampah dengan faktor pendukung seperti tingkat pengetahuan, tingkat ketersediaan sarana prasarana, dan tingkat dukungan keluarga. Peningkatan pengetahuan ibu rumah tangga tentang bahaya sampah yang tidak dikelola akan meningkatkan keterlibatan mereka dalam pengelolaan sampah melalui bank sampah.
<span>The study aimed to investigate the influence of total quality management and school governance on school management effectiveness, whether school governance as an antecedent of total quality management and school management effectiveness. The object of research is the vocational high school with the Regional Public Service Agency status (school-based enterprise) in Indonesia. The research is a quantitative research with survey method. The sample of 533 people who are school principals, teachers, and students. It was selected by proportional stratified random sampling. The data analysis using structural equation modeling (SEM). The research finding is the total quality management has a significant influence on school management effectiveness. The mediation analysis indicates that school governance as the antecedent of total quality management and school management effectiveness. The improvement of effectiveness school-based enterprises should consider implementing total quality management and it will be increasingly by school governance application. The modeling that correlates total quality management and school governance to improved vocational school management effectiveness, especially at vocational school with Regional Public Service Agency status (school-based enterprise).</span>
Quality of education nowadays isthe main concern for those who are involved and plunge into education. In recent years, TQM has been applied in the world of education to improve the quality of education since it is believed as an effective management philosophy for dynamic improvement, customer satisfaction, and organizational excellence. However, this notion has begun to be developed in the manufacturing sector. Therefore, this study used a qualitative approach through extensive literature to provide a better comprehension in implementing TQM in education. This research is expected to conclude the crucial factors supporting the successful implementation of TQM in education to reach the advantage of its application maximally. This paper also discussed the challenges faced in implementing TQM in education so that schools can take appropriate steps when actively implementing TQM in education. Besides, we explained about the implementation of TQM in Indonesia, particularly in vocational schools.
