This research determined male and female face type of the adults in Panglipuran adults. The analysis of face types Geometric Morphometric Technique in thin-plate-splin (tps) program. Adults female and 14 male aged 25-35 years old were photographed for both frontal and lateral faces with a digital camera Canon EOS 60D. Landmark data was processed by photo processor program tpsDig version 2.04, tpsSuper version 1.13, tpsRelw version 1.42, tpsSplin 1.20 and both of ape and gee package of R Program version 3.2.5. The average of male’s face shape type in Panglipuran village was ellipse and round for female’s. We found 2 frontal and 2 lateral for male’s face variation, we also found 3 frontal and 3 lateral for female’s. Frontal face of male and female that showed high variation included right subaurale, left subaurale, right gonion, left gonion, and gnathion. Lateral face of male and female that showed high variation were trichion, frontozygomaticus, superciliare, superaurale, pogonion, glabella, the minimum point of the curve below earlobe, gonion and gnathion.
The use of whitening vitamin C to make the skin brighter in the long term, however can cause side effects. The purpose of this study was to investigate the side effects of long-term high dose injections of whitening vitamin C plasma glucose and cholesterol level. This study used rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) as experimental animals. The rats randomly divided into five groups consisting of ten rats each group. Four groups were administered injections of white vitamin C and one group as control animal. The design used in this study was a complete randomized design (RAL) and the treatments were different long term of injections of high-dose whitening vitamin C, ie 30-day injections (P1), 50-day injections (P2), 70-day injections (P3), 90 days of injections (P4) and control (P0). The treatment was repeated ten times. The parameters observed were glucose and cholesterol rats plasma levels before and after high-dose whitening vitamin C injection treatment. Data was analysed by ANOVA allowed by Duncan’s Test. The results indicated that rats glucose plasma levels injected by high dose of whitening vitamin C in long-term between control and treatment showed significant differences (P = 0.005) and cholesterol plasma levels showed significant different too (P = 000). Glucose and cholesterol plasma levels of rats injected by high doses of whitening vitamin C in long term tend to decrease.
Telajakan is a place of reforestation, one of the elements of traditional green open space in Balinese homes. Plants planted in various species are diversified, in some categories of plant and have various benefits in Balinese society. The study was conducted in 2018 in the Cengkilung village, Denpasar Municipality and Penglipuran Village, Bangli Regency, Bali Province. Data collection methods are carried out through observation with inventory and identification of plants, interviews with owners of taxation. The plants planted in these two villages are mostly used for beauty or ornamental plants increase the family's economy, ceremonies or rituals, and protectors. The highest Important Value (IV) on trees category in Telajakan plants at the Cengkilung village are the cabbage tree (Cordyline australis) as much as namely 129%. The shrub and herbaceous categories are Crotons 'Wide leaf' (Codaium variegatum) and Japanese grass (Zoysia japonica) amounting respectively 75.3% and 43.4%. The Telajakan plants at Penglipuran Village, which are on the category of trees, shrubs and herbs with the highest important values are the Cananga tree (Cananga odorata), Dwarf umbrella tree (Schefflera grandiflora), and spider plant (Chloropithum comosum) 109%, 33.4% and 64.6%.
Identifikasi individu merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting dalam forensik. DNA dapat diperoleh dari seluruh bagian tubuh dengan profil yang sama pada setiap orang. Epitel mukosa mulut merupakan salah satu sumber DNA yang sering digunakan untuk identifikasi individu karena dalam pengambilannya menggunakan metode swab yang tidak menyakiti probandus. Merokok merupakan salah satu perilaku yang banyak dilakukan oleh anak-anak muda/remaja. Asap rokok sangat mempengaruhi sel-sel pada mukosa mulut hal tersebut terjadi karena merupakan radikal bebas. Radikal bebas adalah senyawa oksigen reaktif yang merupakan senyawa dengan elektron yang tidak berpasangan. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) adalah polimer asam nukleat yang tersusun secara sistematis dan merupakan pembawa informasi genetik yang diturunkan kepada keturunannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kuantitas dan kualitas DNA pada mahasiswa perokok dan mahasiswa bukan perokok di Universitas Negeri Medan Kecamatan Medan Tembung Kota Medan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Sampel diambil dengan metode swab yaitu epitel mukosa dari 60 probandus yang terdiri dari 30 probandus mahasiswa perokok dan 30 probandus mahasiswa bukan perokok yang berumur 18-22 tahun. Bagian pipi dalam probandus diswab mulai dari bagian belakang hingga kedepan dengan satu arah. Pada penelitian ini ekstraksi DNA dilakukan menggunakan larutan chelex yang bertujuan untuk memisahkan DNA dari protein, uji kuantitas DNA dengan spektrofotometer dan uji kualitas DNA dengan gel agarose. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kuantitas DNA pada sampel mukosa mulut sebesar 1,96 ng/µL pada probandus mahasiswa perokok dan sebesar 6,92 ng/µL pada probandus mahasiswa bukan perokok dan. Hasil uji kualitas menggunakan elektroforesis pada gel agarose menunjukkan pada mahasiswa perokok ada pendaran pita tipis dan pada beberapa sampel tidak ada pendaran pita sama sekali. Sedangkan pada probandus mahasiwa bukan perokok ada beberapa sampel yang terlihat ada pendaran pita tipis dan smear.
The aims of this study were to find out the effects of moringa leaf meal substitution in commercial feed on the sperm quality of male rabbits (bucks). Twenty four months old male rabbits with an average live weight of 1200g were used in this study. There were four treatments in this study including 0% (K0) as control and 15% (K1), 30% (K2), 45% (K3) substitution of moringa leaf meal in commercial feed and each treatment consisted of six replicates. The treatments were carried out for two months. The variables measured were including motility, viability, morphology and the total of sperm. The results showed that there were significant differences (P <0.05) between all treatments (K1, K2, K3) and the control (K0). Substitution of moringa leaf meal up to 45% in commercial feed increase quality of sperm (motility, viability, morphology and the total of sperm. The optimal substitution of moringa leaf meal in commercial feed in this study was 30%. It was concluded that the moringa leaf meal might be substituted in commercial feed up to 45 % to improve the sperm quality of male rabbits (bucks). To get maximum sperm quality of male rabbits it should be better substituted the commercial feed with moringa leaf meal as much as 32.31% - 35.07%.
