The study of lipid profile of blood in 244 children aged 6–17 years with obesity and overweightshowed a high prevalence of dyslipidemia in these patients (60,7 %), especially with against prolongedduration of obesity (75,9 %) and early puberty (72,9 %). It has been determined that lipid profileviolations occur half as likely in children with overweight (36,7 %) that in those with obesity (66,7 %),regardless of its degree and sex of patients. Dominating in dyslipidemia structure obese children, regardless of sex, are a decrease in high density lipoprotein, elevated levels of total cholesterol andlow density lipoprotein, mainly in the form of combined changes in these indicators.
In the study was analyzed the serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) at 87 obesity children 9–17 years old of both sex. Significant increase of serum concentration VEGF at obesity children in comparison with healthy controls was established, especially at presence hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance and microvasculature dysfunction, in less — at the arterial hypertension and microalbuminuria. The role of VEGF as indicator of formation of vascular dysfunctions at obesity children and adolescents on the basis of the revealed associations of its increased levels (more than 320 pg/ml and, especially, more than 450 pg/ml) with hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance and microvasculature dysfunction was discussed.
Cytokine-hormonal interrelations at 291 boys aged 14–17 adjusted to level of puberty and the thyroid gland condition were analyzed. It was shown that the formation of cytokine-hormonal relationships depends on of the both on presences of thyroid pathologies and on degree of puberty. The role of cytokines increased at boys both with thyroid pathology and the sex delay development. Existence of close connections between thyroid, sex hormones, insulin-like growth factor, sex hormonebinding globulin, melatonin and cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10) also was established. The character and the structure of interactions reflected the differences in formation of mechanisms of the sex delay development against the thyroid gland pathology.
Serum leptin and adiponectin concentrations in obese children were determined (65
children with insulin resistance and 55 children without its symptoms), as well as 25 of their peers with normal
weight. It is established that obesity in children is accompanied by increased production of leptin and
reduced - adiponectin, the changes of which are more pronounced in children with insulin resistance. Level
leptin is associated with body mass index regardless of the presence of insulin resistance, and the content
adiponectin is associated with body mass index only in children with insulin resistance.
The study of cytokine profile in teenage boys from 14 to 17 years with delayed puberty madeit possible to establish an increased interlekin1β concentration together with simultaneous decreasein TNF α concentration. Interlekin 1β and TNF α combined impact on the FSH production wasestablished. There were revealed correlations between the levels of sexual and gonadotropic hormonesand cytokines which suggested cytokines participation in the pituitary-gonadal system functioning.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
