Two empirical studies were carried out in the project „Lexik des gesprochenen Deutsch” (LeGeDe) at the Institute for the German Language (IDS) in Mannheim. The main goal of these studies was to shed light on people’s expectations of the planned lexicographical online-resource. In the first study, selected experts were interviewed in the form of a guided interview. In the second study, a broader online survey was conducted, which should reach a wider range of potential users. This contribution introduces the basic concepts of the project LeGeDe, outlines the two studies and presents selected results on four subject blocks: (i) sociodemographic data, (ii) personal use of (online) dictionaries, (iii) individual experience with the lexis of spoken language and (iv) expectations concerning a lexicographical online-resource for spoken German.
This article examines the lexicographic information from five learners' dictionaries of German, focusing in particular on the combination potential of verbs. The analysis presented here places special emphasis on verb syntax, which is described using eight analysis parameters. The results are discussed in detail and a schematic summary is given in table form. The results reveal information gaps in various areas, which leads to new challenges in the field of monolingual lexicography for learners of German..
Expansion complement and verb classes:An inter-and intralingual approach. − Based on the supplementation typology following the approach of Engel, the contribution of the "expansive complement" for valency theory-based verb analyzes in connection with certain verb subclasses will be examined in more detail. A detailed description of the conceptual history and the delimitation problems points to the need of integration of the semantic, morpho-syntactically and functional criteria for inter-and intralingual studies.
The main aim of this contribution is to present the range of lexicographic information from LeGeDe, an electronic prototype for lexical and interactional features of spoken German. The focus lies on the detailed description of the different lexicographical information classes using illustrative examples and figures from the resource. In addition to highlighting the lexicographic microstructure and providing an overview of the outer texts and the multimedia information offer, the contribution also presents detailed background data on the conception of the LeGeDe resource. Innovative aspects and possible applications are outlined and forwardlooking desiderata are offered.
