Open data is a flagship initiative in open government program to increase transparency, social and commercial value, and participatory governance. Open data is a relatively new field and the factors affecting its continuance use by citizen has not been widely studied. A better understanding of these factors can help government to formulate policies and strategies that can improve the acceptance and use of open data website. The research model is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior and integrated with the technology quality and trust factors. Data collection was conducted using questionnaire. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the research model. The results show that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and trust directly affect continuance intention to use open data website. Systems quality affects perceived ease of use, while information quality positively affects perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and trust. Both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use affect user's attitude. The analysis of this study suggests that each influencing factor provides implications for government to stimulate the continuance use of open data website.
Political trust is important for government in its attempt to implement policies that require the participation of its citizens. During trust in government contributes to the decrease of the perception of Covid-19 risks, the increase of public obedience and willingness to do measures of Covid-19 prevention, and the reduction of mortality rate. In regard to this, data show there has been change in the trend of political distrust before and during the Covid-19 in Australia and Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with data collection methods of library research and online media investigation, this article examines factors that contribute to different trend in political distrust facing Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his government in Australia and President Joko Widodo and his administration in Indonesia before and during Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Employing Bertsou's theory of political distrust, this article argues that factors contribute to the different trend in political distrust facing Australia and Indonesia before and during Covid-19 pandemic are the competency of each government in responding to Covid-19 pandemic especially their ability to slow down the spread of Covid-19 and reduce the mortality rate of Covid-19, government's transparency of Covid-19 data, and the government's interest.
Abstract-This research discusses human trafficking in Indonesia, where most of the victims were trafficked to neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore. It analyzes human trafficking in three dimensions at the national level, i.e. (1) institutional, (2) social and cultural, and (3) process dimensions. It argues that despite the size of the persistent demands for trafficking in the host countries, the threedimensional factors are crucial to cope with, in order to eradicate trafficking. Eliminating or regulating trafficking and prostitution in the host countries has so far been slow in progress. International and regional cooperation in East and Southeast Asia has been lacking vigor in its institutionalization and enforcement. Anti-trafficking policies and actions at the national level have the advantages of sovereign authority of its government, if compared to regional institution or international convention, and freedom enjoyed by civil society and local communities. However, the complexities of human trafficking as an organized transnational crime requires holistic approach to combat and study, including careful analysis on the three dimensions of the crime.
With degrading global environmental conditions and the increasing impact of climate change, the river environment’s role becomes increasingly important. Nevertheless, globally most watersheds are within a critical situation that requires immediate actions. Though uncommon, one possible approach to do river rehabilitation involves the military as an active actor in the rehabilitation effort. Linking the military with environmental policies is somewhat peculiar, but some studies show that this relation may positively impact the restoration process. We look at a similar issue within the Citarum river restoration program and elaborate on the outcome of this condition. We use secondary data, reports, and multiple previous literature pieces related to military involvement in restoration. We found a congruence from Citarum’s case with earlier cases from India, U.S., and Botswana; that the military can increase public participation; increase restoration effectivity, and accelerate the effort. We hope to further discuss river restoration approaches and military involvement in environmental restoration because of its peculiarity.
