The relevance of the concept of "epistemic gender positioning" for the didactical analysis of the fabric of inequalities in the classroom This theoretical article discusses the interest of a didactic approach to gender inequalities. Considering that gender positions are not fixed but evolve according to the learning context and the classroom interactions, it argues that the concept of epistemic gender positioning is a fruitful analytical tool to grasp the dynamics of the differential didactic contract against the theoretical background of the didactic joint action framework (Amade-Escot, 2019 ;Verscheure, 2020 ;Verscheure et Debars, 2019). After having located the didactic research approach within the gender studies, the paper presents the research program at the roots of the gradual formalizing of the concept and points out its research interest. It specifies the methodological principles that preside over its use in the observation of teaching and learning practices. Two research excerpts illustrate the analytical potential of the concept and highlight that epistemic gender positioning is a relevant theoretical candidate to better understand the meanings that each participant of the didactic relationship attributes to situations in which she or he is engaged, and that she or he contributes to shape over the course of didactic transactions.Mots-clés : action didactique conjointe, contrat didactique différentiel, positionnement de genre épistémique, genre.
