Aim This review was conducted to map leadership styles that positively impact patients, professionals and institutions. Background Leadership is a topic widely studied because it is a fundamental skill in establishing favourable work environments, in addition to enabling nurses to influence their team in the search for better results. Therefore, a synthesis of the various studies produced to date is essential for nurses, managers and researchers to understand the different styles of leadership that positively influence organizational results, so they can choose the style they deem most appropriate. Evaluation An integrative literature review retrieved articles from five databases, following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The level of evidence and its quality were assessed using the criteria of the Joanna Briggs Institute. Key issues Thirty‐five studies were included, 18 of which reported the influence of leadership styles on patients (safety), nine on professionals (burnout) and eight on institutions (turnover and absenteeism). Conclusion Transformational leadership had positive results for patients, professionals, and institutions alike. Implications for Nursing Management The results showed the need for nurses to improve their leadership skills, especially in the transformational style, to achieve positive results.
BACKGROUNDOccupational dermatitis affects the quality of life and productivity of workers. Studies on the subject are scarce in Brazil. It is estimated that the disease is underreported and that many affected patients do not seek health care.OBJECTIVESTo conduct an epidemiological analysis of occupational dermatitis notified via SINAN in Brazil from January 2007 to December 2012; evaluate the profile of patients assisted; and check the main etiological agents involved.METHODSWe analyzed the compulsory notification forms of cases of occupational dermatitis filled nationwide during January 2007 to December 2012.RESULTSDuring the study period 3027 cases of occupational dermatitis were notified in Brazil. In 61.4% of cases patients were men aged between 35-49 years (39.6%). The most described etiological agent was chromium (13.9%). The location of the body most affected was the hands, with 28.4% of cases. The construction sector is implicated in 28.7% of cases and domestic services by 18%. Allergic contact dermatitis is the most prevalent occupational dermatitis (20.6%) and the region with the highest number of notifications was the Midwest, with 376.4 cases per million inhabitants.CONCLUSIONSThe profile of patients most affected by occupational dermatitis in Brazil during the study period was: men with elementary school, aged between 20 and 49 years old and working in the construction industry. The most common occupational dermatitis were allergic contact dermatitis caused by chromium after years of exposure, being the hands and head the parts of the body most affected.
Craft Beer elaboration from partial replacement of malt by honey:In recent years, two trends has excelled in the universe Brewer: getting beer from concentrated musts and the elaboration of beer using special assistants, which may or not aromatize the same, in order to obtain unique sensory attributes in products obtained. The honey of Apis mellifera, is raw material quite favorable to the alcoholic fermentation for being rich in carbohydrates, minerals and low acidity. The present study aimed to develop artisanal beer, using honey as malt and partial substituent as natural flavouring of craft beers. Four different formulations were made of beer, being a replacement for malt-free honey and three other formulations, with respectively 10%, 20% and 30% of honey. Based on the results observed it was concluded that the use of honey in the three levels of substitution allowed obtaining higher-alcohol beers (5.21, 5.76 and 5.57% v/v) in respect of conventional beer (4.86%, v/v). According to the sensory tests the drink proved with consumption potential, since the beers showed distinct features and samples containing honey were the most accepted. Considering that this type of beer is not traditionally consumed in Brazil, this work aims to broaden scientific knowledge in the area of manufacturing technology of honey beers, since the subject is of great importance to enlarge the market of this product.
