Processos educacionais formativos reportam-se a formas de compreensão do ser humano. A ampla tradição ocidental, filosófico-pedagógica, é marcada pela concepção de ser humano como substância imóvel, da qual derivou-se a noção de educação como desabrochamento das potencialidades prontas, residindo na interioridade humana. Esta maneira de pensar justificou a relação vertical entre educador e educando, colocando exclusivamente nas mãos das gerações mais velhas o poder de decidir sobre o futuro das gerações mais novas. O presente ensaio, baseando-se na ontologia fundamental de Martin Heidegger e na ontologia do presente de Michel Foucault, pretende desconstruir a noção de natureza humana como essência pronta. Dividindo-se em três momentos, investiga no primeiro aspectos da destruição (Destruktion) da história da ontologia empreendida por Heidegger, apresentando sua compreensão de ser humano como historicidade. No segundo momento reconstrói o duplo movimento que sustenta a ontologia do presente de Foucault, a saber, filosofia como investigação crítica da atualidade e, simultaneamente, como questionamento sobre o sujeito que investiga tal atualidade. Por fim, no terceiro e último momento, o ensaio procura esboçar alguns traços da ontologia de formação pós-humanista, tornando evidente que a historicidade do Dasein inspirou a consideração da menoridade como grande débito ontológico que o sujeito possui consigo mesmo. Também afirma, neste contexto, o quanto a passagem para a maioridade depende do trabalho formativo do sujeito consigo mesmo em sua relação de existência com o mundo.
O ensaio faz a defesa da educação pública, concebendo-a como esteio forte da república democrática. Investiga, na primeira parte, a ruptura entre filosofia política e pedagogia, entre teoria da democracia e teoria da formação humana e o quanto tal ruptura dificulta a reflexão sobre o crescimento mundial do neoconservadorismo. Na segunda parte, considerando o diagnóstico de que o avanço da perspectiva neoconservadora provoca a destruição da educação pública e considerando o quanto isso obstaculiza a consolidação cultural e moral da democracia, procura reconstruir alguns traços gerais da educação republicana esboçada por Kant em suas aulas Über Pädagogik. Concluí que a ideia kantiana de educação pública focada no cultivo de todas as capacidades humanas é o aspecto nuclear da formação do futuro cidadão, devendo, por isso, ser também a tarefa da escola pública atual.
Este trabalho investiga alguns pressupostos filosóficos de modelos ou formas de efetivação dos processos de formação continuada de professores. Partimos da apreciação crítica de dois grandes paradigmas fundamentais que sustentam concepções distintas de formação continuada, quais sejam, o “modelo tradicional de formação continuada”, calcado em uma perspectiva metafísica; e o “modelo contemporâneo de formação continuada”, calcado na gestão de si mesmo. Como aporte crítico-conceitual para dialogar com esses dois modelos e, especialmente, para prospectar novos pressupostos filosóficos para a formação continuada, investigamos a noção de cuidado de si, de Michel Foucault, tomando como base a obra A Hermenêutica do Sujeito. Com base na investigação interpretativa da filosofia de Foucault, concluímos que a modalidade continuada de formação de professores, quando tem seus pressupostos relegados a terceiros, não atende integralmente ao que julgamos ser sua principal finalidade, a saber, a transformação ética do educador. Em síntese, em consequência da pesquisa, essa finalidade é, em grande parte, alcançada, uma vez que a própria realidade do educador e seus diferentes problemas tornam-se objeto de estudo, pesquisa e reflexão, de modo que o conhecimento resultante desse processo, uma vez incorporado à prática do educador, conduz à transformação ética do si mesmo.
O artigo trata, na perspectiva da filosofia heideggeriana, dos fundamentos ontológicos da socialização, da individuação e da singularização, cuja pertinência para o campo educacional é realçada por meio de uma aproximação do conceito alemão de formação (Bildung). O objetivo é mostrar que o modo como Heidegger aborda a questão do indivíduo e da sociedade, do si mesmo próprio e do si mesmo impessoal, em termos de autenticidade e inautenticidade, o inscreve no debate tradicional acerca da formação, enquanto autocultivo de si. Nessa linha, o cuidado, indicado como essência do ser-aí, é interpretado como o termo heideggeriano para formação.

Mas esse encontro tem se tornado mais difícil a partir do desenvolvimento da sociedade capitalista moderna. As novas dinâmicas de trabalho, somadas ao ritmo acelerado da vida urbana, favorecem o isolamento dos indivíduos e deturpam sua capacidade de filtrar, significativamente, os eventos que se acumulam no cotidiano. Muitas coisas acontecem, mas muito pouco permanece desses acontecimentos. A experiência dá lugar, assim, à mera vivência (Erlebnis). Diferentemente da experiência, que se articula a partir do fundo significativo de uma comunidade e se torna significativa em relação a ela, a vivência se constitui como um momento privado. A vivência não conecta os indivíduos à vida da comunidade, à tradição, e nisso reside sua pobreza. Pobreza de experiência é, portanto, pobreza cultural, carência de perspectivas mais amplas que possam apoiar uma avaliação significativa das vivências;
